  1. I'll be there all day till around three or four.
  2. Yes, only the female and grom divisions are open.
  3. Yes. I can't believe how slow Invaders are. Line uses a base on the invaders that is very hard for durability because it is a ski that is just made to be beat up, but since they do this they don't hold wax that well at all. The ski is made for urban sessions and hitting rails a ton, not for all mountain skiing and running jump lines. I've enjoyed skiing them this year, but can't say I'd ski them again because they just don't fit with how I like to ski most of the time. I'll probably try out the Line Chronics next year for my park ski...
  4. Ease up dawg! He rides Invaders so I feel his pain with the speed issue, cuz they probably have the worst speed issues of any ski I've ridden due to the extra hard base material they use. Furthermore, the park was phenomenal this weekend. It was amazing to me that those jumps and lips still existed on that beach. Usually my sand structures fall over at the slightest touch... Pray for cold and snow, we need it...
  5. They had a really nice Suunto one a week or two back. I've heard mixed opinions on the HighGear stuff. Basically its got American car syndrome. It works alright, but the fit and feel is kinda chintzy as opposed to companies like Suunto.

Eh if you're gonna take things seriously like that then I'd recommend staying away from any forum type site. You provided some nice input in some of the threads lately, so I'd encourage you to stick around. If you stick around a little longer you'll learn that the people hating on you just want to bust your balls a little bit.
  7. Ya thats why I didn't get them this year. I heard about the newer model coming out through Cliff and decided I might as well just wait. It still looks plenty burly as the plastic they use seems like it can take some real good hits. Everyone I know who has convinced themselves that they need race level equipment yet barely cross train has ended up with busted knees or worse. Wish I coulda made it to Stratton but I had a nice few days in Utah.
  8. From what I've heard they are trying to feature a lot of the younger patrollers, which isn't surprising at all. Gotta get those ratings. Also, not sure how true the stat is cuz I've been unable to find a reputable table anywhere, but I heard that for last season Blue Mountain had THE MOST injuries out of any mountain in the country, which is why they've chosen to even come to Blue in the first place. Finally, this weekend they brought the cameras onto the kids hill (explorers), which raised some eyebrows because of the legal implications of people not signing waivers. They are not a news crew and this isn't journalism, so they need to have people sign waivers if they are going to be featured in any footage or they will risk being sued.
  9. Ya its just a four foot extension that you can buy for the 18' cutter. Definitely cool. That would be real dope to see a mountain build an 8 foot, 12 foot, 18 foot, and 22 foot pipe. Unrealistic for sure, but kinda cool in an opulent way. As for Sno, I think Brian has a real good point with the fact that Sno is trying to build an entire operation at once. The infrastructure was already kind of there, but really hurting. Ya Boulder bought guns and improved on a few things, but they are also now owned by a much larger investment group rather than a private investor like Sno is.
  10. All we are sayyyyinngggg, is give peace a chance... PS. Santa don't let yourself get wrapped up in the exchanges between Ski and Papa. Its not worth getting worked up about in the least, and it never looks good when an employee of the mountain is taking the bait and talking shit back.
  11. Ya I'm trying to check out some Jesters for next year too.
  12. For forum type conversation you might have some luck at tetongravity.com, just don't expect warmth and love if you ask any questions they deem stupid. As for discount tickets, Whistler is pretty good about not giving much to those who aren't from BC or Washington state. Your best bet is usually to buy the multi-day pass online before you go, as they charge more for the multi-day pass at the mountain. If you have any friends who are Washington or BC residents they can get you discount tickets.

    Or tomorrow...
  14. Ditto to both of those. I don't personally see the point in attacking CBK everytime they decide to close, or any mountain for that matter. Most of us are snowsports enthusiasts who live in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, and for one reason or another, we decide to stay here. Buying a pass to any mountain around here comes with the risk that you're going to deal with weather that might close a mountain down. Lifts fall under the games and amusement rules in Pennsylvania, and those rules state that during a wind, rain, or electrical storm it is prudent to shut down a machine. If CBK wants to avoid a multi-million dollar lawsuit and ere on the side of caution, it is well within their right to do so. We're not the only locals that get pissed when stuff happens at mountains that are beyond our control. On Sunday at Park City ski patrol ran out of explosives and didn't get much of the mountain open and everyone in the lift line was talking about how they aren't buying their pass there next year, yada yada... I guess its a little easier to swallow when you remember the reason they ran out is because they've been getting dumped on with snow amazing snow...
  15. Any of these will work out for you. The main difference is that if you hang with a crew or take some lessons you're just gonna be pushed a little harder to go for it than you normally would if you're riding alone.
  16. Close the lift because of lightning!?!?!?! How dare they... This is same reason I never go to amusement parks. If I wanna ride Steel Force in an electrical storm then let me at it!!! I don't usually get involved in these but I think Blue got you on this one Ski...
  17. We sure picked a good week to go to Utah!
  18. Ahhhh they were soooo perfect. We coulda lapped those all day ourselves and just gone one line over and never crossed another track. Nooooo one was out Monday and Tuesday. The storm was Sunday, and we found sooo much fresh at Solitude yesterday it was unbelievable. I've never has so much untracked at resorts in my life as I did this trip. Utah has gotten so much snow that even locals say they are sick of shoveling and are starting to wait for only the best days to get to the hill and ride.
  19. Couldn't pick four days like this if you tried...
  20. I'll be there February 27th....
  21. Good intentions, but remember it is Blue Mountain. If you put a fence in plenty of people will still just ride over lips, the groomers will bitch that park crue will have to put the fence up and take it down, and ski patrol will whine because they aren't involved in every aspect of controlling signage and closures on the mountain.
  22. After Northwest cancelled all their flights out of Philly Friday night, my bro and I finally made it into SLC yesterday morning. The lesson of the day was to always call the airlines back keep bugging them to get on the flight you want. Picked up a rental car and decided to head to Brighton for the half day. Hit up a burrito bar on the way and got jazzed to ride the previous days dump. Conditions were awesome, droppin' little hits here and them and just ripping around the mountain. My little brother was slaying lines I was even a little hesitant about. Kid can ski! On one of the lift rides my brother talked to a guy who told us about a free De La Soul concert in Park City last night, and after we heard that our stoke level when through the roof. We rolled up and it didn't start till an hour after it was sposed to, but it was sooooo awesome. I've wanted to see De La forever, and it couldnt have been better that it was free. During the show it start dumping snow, and everyone in the crowd was sooooo pumped. One funny thing was that the concert was at Deer Valley, and probably 90% of the audience were boarders who were making it known. It got pretty rowdy and security started strongarming some people, so my bro and I peaced out to get some dinner. Woke up this morning to about 8" of fresh out the window, with more on the mountain. Skied Park City cuz it was a nightmare to try to get anywhere else and we are staying right at the bottom here. Got first tracks several times after some lucky timing with rope drops, and it felt like a movie. Just sooooooo deep and light and blowing everywhere, definitely perfect for the way my seasons been so far. They didn't open a lot of the better stuff on the mountain, and the locals had strong words about that, but there was still a lot of fun stuff in the trees. It just started snowing again as I'm typing this, and it is coming down HARD. Tomorrow is gonna be unreal, and we're thinking about heading up to Powder Mt. or Snowbasin. I'll try to get some pics up but I accidentally brought the wrong camera cable. Oops... Have fun in PA, peace. -Trevor
  23. Nice to hear Keith. I'd be pissed I missed it but... Here is to next week!
  24. Amen to both of these...
  25. Seriously??? For $5??? That barely even gets a happy meal. Just spread the love and give it away if you're not gonna use it.
