Ya thats at Blue that lessons aren't allowed in the park, which makes sense to me. I for one am all for race teams being allowed to go through to park, as long as the coaches are teaching them to call their drop, stay away from landings and lips if they aren't hitting the jumps, and not hitting the lips to rails as sweet jumps to get 3 feet of air off of. This weekend two of the race coaches at Blue took their group through the park and had their kids waiting in the right areas, dropping one by one, and generally not acting like idiots. When it comes down to it, kids will be kids. I know when I was 10-11-12-13-14 years old I woulda been the gaper jumping off every stupid thing in sight. I know things are different know with respect to the fact that we now have 40 foot jumps in the middle of trails, but just continue to be kind to people that need a few tips about how to ride the park or through the park, and things will slowly change.

Last year I ran a box sliding clinic with a bunch of the instructors up at Blue ranging from their mid-20s to some in their late 60s and early 70s. We had only two or three little falls, and every single one of them were comfortably sliding the box by the end of an hour. The ski school director stood there laughing and taking pictures, but we couldn't convince him to give it a go, too much pride... All of the instructors that took part in the clinic still talk about it to this day, and are always eager to give it another go. That being said, we do lessons for all ages, just make an appointment with Blue Mountain Snowsports school to make sure that someone will be there who is able to accommodate you.

Thanks for the update Johnny! I'm definitely skipping class for this one!

Maybe.... There are a few of us that ride a lot up there who all ski park for the most part. Anyway, with regards to skis, look for the next demo day at Blue. The ones they have in February or March are the best to go to because the companies that come not only have many of this years skis for you to try out, but some of next years as well. You can ski as many runs as you want on a bunch of different twin tips, and see if there is something you fall in love with. The next one might be February 14th. Skip school and find what you like.

Hmmm its interesting that you find the NBTs too stiff, cuz they are actually the more flexible twin in Dynastars lineup as compared to the Troublemakers. As I was going down your post I was gonna recommend some Troublemakers, till I saw what you said about the NBTs. It doesn't really make much sense to say that you're 5'8" and 140lbs and list yourself as an aggressive skier, yet find the NBTs too stiff. They are marketed as and ski like a twin for more intermediate/beginner park skiers/skiers. If you're looking for an even lighter ski that will still ski alright, check out some of Salomon and Atomic's stuff. Finally, its not the ski thats holding you back from 5's, you just gotta step up and take that rotation 180 degrees further. Just keep hittin' the same jump and getting a feel for it, and make sure you're really turning your head and shoulders in the air to bring your spin around. You'll nail it once and then they'll feel like cake forever.

Hey Britt, I know you said Bear Creek so definitely check them out. There are a bunch of good people down there so you should be able to find someone. Just ask ski school. Also, if you're interested we do private lessons up at Blue by appointment, and have female and male coaches who have been coaching park and pipe for over three years now. Let me know if you'd be interested in any more info. -Trevor

I went last year to the one at Boulder and learned soooooo much. Definitely do it if they have it.
-
Sooo stoked. Not sure where I'm gonna watch it though.
-
Seen it on break. Definitely a serious wreck to watch. This season just seems like one scary thing after another.

McDonalds is always hiring...
-
Ya we like to stay under the radar... What dept. do you work in? And I don't think anyone said it might be in terrain run, just maybe the pipe. We'll see though...
-
We'll see.... And the Freeriders are the people in the ski and snowboard freeride programs up at Blue. One of them took first last night at the fever so as a coach I'm real stoked for him on that.
-
A few of the Freeriders crew might be doin' it this weekend. Looked like a blast last weekend, although I was sooo thankful when the screamo got turned off and the rap came out to play. Maybe it will be held in or around the pipe???
-
Just registered for open skiers! Although I think I'm gonna dust off the blades for this one...
-
If I had 3 g's right now I wouldn't be broke as a joke... Car looks nice though. G'luck with the sale. Any luck on Vortex or just getting hate for the 2.0? Also, I had really good luck with Craigslist.
-
Ahhhh right on. Ya I think it would be cool if members of the team continued to make updates, but every now and then its nice to have the guy in charge add some input.
-
Thats soooo dope. Hopefully they use it and update it regularly. It can only do good things for the ski scene up there. I'm assuming you pushed for this pretty hard Rob? Are you taking care of updates???

x2 Beer, alcohol for that matter, is just as big a part of skiing and snowboarding as snow. Maybe you don't know it yet, but you will if you stay addicted to snowsports.
