  1. Very unlikely that anywhere will do that for you on a walk-in. You don't have any local ski shops you might drop your skis off at today?
  2. Something you can only dream about....
  3. Is that their park pass only park???
  4. They are doing the long weekend type thing in march in place of the Showdown. I was kinda bummed, cuz my spring is looking pretty busy and the comps at Bear have always been a real good time. Hopefully I can make it out. I think there were a lot of complaints with the Showdown in terms of people not being able to make it every week, waiting until 10:30pm on a schoolnight for scores, and a few other things.
  5. Just a kid who works up there "joking around." Didn't really realize that joking around gets you fired if the right people take it seriously...
  6. Gotta love the young instructors in Explorers...
  7. There is a 40 foot single barrel rail that two of the guys on Crue built. It is by far one of the nicest rails to come out of Blue, and those guys deserve huge props for it. I can't wait to see when it comes out to play... Kinda bummed it wasn't out already. There is a lot of space on the lower part of upper sidewinder by the staircase.
  8. Family was soooo stoked on this trip too. Definitely the worst news. all the best and if you need anything everyone here has your back.
  9. I think I'm goin' up for Nastar tomorrow night. Anyone else gonna be there???
  10. edited for accuracy...
  11. Forecast for our region leading up to this weekend and for the weekend is colder and snowy. People will be thinking snowsports, everywhere will be a madhouse.

    Everything Elk

Haven't been in like six years. Loved it when I used to go. Almost made it up over the holidays but had a rough night and it didn't happen. What as changed in the past 5 or 6 years?
  13. I don't know if I'd call the pic decent, but it is a pic... What camera did you pick up?
  14. More balls than I have. Nice job!
  15. Anyone heading up for this? A few reps said they'd be there to demo some of this years stuff. I'm gonna head up now from Philly and hopefully some are still there past lunchtime...
  16. Ya I hear ya. I got a very similar response from a non-snowsports company earlier in the year and felt the same way. But then I realized how I'd feel if every tom, dick, and harry was e-mailing the same thing when it is pretty much common knowledge on the net and I'd have to sit there and respond to at least a hundred e-mails a day. The people the answer those "info@....." e-mails are pretty much the lowest on the food chain, and while that doesn't excuse poor CS, I've kinda come to expect it. They need to read the book Fish!
  17. The Crist brothers are amazing. Did they ever race world cup? edit: nvrmind. Looks like Reggie went to the '92 Olympics. Cool!

Definitely not going to the first day of class Monday if anything happens with this...
  19. Hmmm thanks for the tip. Might have to get up there at some point yet... Bummer about the weather this week. This is the week I was gonna go to VT/NH but decided not to cuz of the weather.
  20. Try Army Navy in Whitehall...
  21. A lot of it is about getting the hole-shot and defending it, but sometimes the competition is so fierce up front that there is a big crash and the guy in 3rd or last comes in first. The people who win vary from year to year. Last year or the year before there were these two heavy accent Euro guys who showed up on Fischer race skis and went balls out and were trying to do insane gaps over the features. It was just plain dangerous, and I think all they got for their efforts was a pair of poles. They haven't been around the last two though. Its been a mix of park skiers and people on race boards over the years. If I do it I'll do it on my RX8's.
  22. I shoulda given John my wider skis for the week...
  23. I'm so bitter at you guys. I even raced last night....
  24. Persimmon is not too dark for night, and gives you enough UV protection for the brighter days. It really is the do everything lens. If you get a night (high intensity/sensor mirror) lens, and then have a situation where you have to ride with it during a brighter day, you'll wish you would have gotten something a little darker. I always make the mistake of taking out my night/foggy weather goggles on cloudy mornings, only to have the sun come out. Those goggles make things so bright that I can hardly wear them without squinting a lot when it becomes sunny. Like I said above, if you're going to get one pair of goggles, get an all around persimmon type lens. You'll be prepared for just about any condition.
  25. Definitely worth it. I can't ride without them myself. Don't like the wind in my eyes. My lil brother has the Targas with that lens and he likes them a lot. Persimmon is a great choice if you are only going to buy one pair of goggles for all conditions. It is pretty much the "do everything" lens color.
