classics for sure. Might have someone who is interested. I'll let you know.

Like I said from the get go, its a classic no doubt.

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Please take them to a shop and try to have them warrantied, and then tell us the story of what they tell you... Thats normal bro you have nothing to worry about. Its your own damn fault that you hit the sidewall of you ski with your edge and took little chips out of it. Just take a scissor and snip those things right off.
-
Yeah its definitely in the base of your ski because the Invaders have the hot pink base. Just take it to your local shop and have it done right. They'll also be able to tell you if its anything more than just a coreshot.

BEST THREAD EVER!!!!! Is that picture a Picasso??? Seriously though, coverage was a little thin at Boulder on Sunday when you were up. Did you feel your ski snag on anything? I can't tell what the hell that picture is of, but it sounds like you got a core shot if its in the base of the ski, or you just took a nice chunk out of the topsheet or sidewall with your edge if it is the top of the ski. Probably not anything to worry about, but try to stand a little further back from the point you are focusing on, hold the shutter button halfway down on your camera so as to focus the shot, and maybe we can get to the bottom of this... Update: Upon closer inspection, it does look like you just caught a rock or branch and gave your ski a "coreshot." Usually you want to have this repaired by a shop because you do not want water to get into the core of your ski. Using something called "ptex", they will fill in the gouge in your ski and you'll be good to go. You don't want to ski on these skis and then leave them outside in freezing temps though.

Whatup with all the bogus info as of late kid? Straight claimin'!

Great price on these. Prices on these lenses have dropped so you could buy these from Nick and then pickup a lens on ebay and have yourself a sick deal on some of the most popular goggles of the decade. That is if you even need a new lens...

Yes! I'm hoping to get some of the guys and girls in the freeride ski and snowboard programs at Blue to BB and BC for a day or two this season.

Actually I'm glad to see Sib chimed in. I rarely mention it in my travels because the mountain is a little smaller than some of the more well traveled destinations out west, but Whitefish is right near the top of the list on the favorite vacations my parents took me on. While they don't have crazy steeps, the terrain variety is great and there is something for everyone. I don't know how much the town itself has changed in the past 10 years, but when we were there it was still a very small western town feel. Gun racks in pickups, large mounts, great food, etc... We took Amtrak from Seattle and it was the coolest thing ever when I was like 12 years old. With that in mind the ultimate family trip might be: Fly into Seattle. Eat a great seafood meal. Catch train to Whitefish, Montana. Book a sleeper cab (get separate one for kids so as not to hinder your mojo) and stay up late with some wine and watch the mountains go by in the moonlight. Catch taxi up to Whitefish Mountain Resort. I think the train got us there in time to ski but its been awhile so I'm not sure. Ski and take advantage of some of the activities like sled dog rides and other things. Leave from Whitefish or take train back to Seattle.

Park City actually wouldn't be a bad bet for you. The village still is up there at about 7000 feet, but resorts like Vail are higher at over 8000 feet. There is a lift and a ski run that goes right into town, and Park City has a great vibe for families with great restaurants and a party scene that isn't known for being too raucous. I mean I'll always remember being eight years old and watching people do retarded things and screaming at the tops of their lungs at 2am in Whistler Village, but thats not what everyone wants on their vacation. Speaking of Whistler, it is nice too, but surprisingly there aren't a ton of ski in/out options available. Everything kinda operates out of either Whistler Village or Creekside, and they are both more base village type setups. There are some ski in/out houses over on Blackcomb, but they are a little more remote with respect to walking to restaurants and attractions. I think Colorado would be your best bet for ski in/out luxury, but if you're worried about altitude it might be a problem, which might make Park City a little more attractive.

If you just need the altimeter function there are a couple things you can do. 1) Look around on outdoorsy forums or ebay for older Garmin/Magellan GPS units. Oftentimes they have the older grayscale screen units going for the $50-100 range. 2) Look up Highgear watches. They make stuff that from what I've heard is reliable and pretty durable around the $70-120 range.

Nice. Just got a free pass at the NAC Warren Miller showing last night. Maybe I'll check it out in the early season if I have a day off.

Nice! This was last weekend I presume?

Just getting reports in from Stowe that it is knee to stomach and not crowded at all. Boy do I feel like an ass... -
These are two of my favorite statements. I mean you could just dip back into your chair with some greens and ponder both of these for minutes. I actually think I took a class that was based around Papa's opinion, and Matts hidden/double meaning exclamation is straight hilarity.

Haha you hear about that guy? Some cop whose current wife mysteriously disappeared. His last wife was found with head trauma in a pool of blood in an otherwise empty tub, yet the autopsy found she drowned... They are exhuming that lady this week to reopen the investigation. I'm gonna try to find the link...

Problems I saw were with Sollys just straight blowing up on landings. Perhaps they're a very good binding for regular skiing, but once people started doing the bigger jumps and spins was where I saw the problems. I do have to give them a little credit and say that the people breaking them, with the exception of Justo, were going real big and blowing out toes and heels. And ya Markers are in a league of their own. I've seen a few toe pieces just straight explode when landing backseat. I might try to get on a pair of Jesters, but on my normal skis, not my park skis. With respect to the Looks, they did make the heel hole pattern a small bit bigger in the PX over the P series, but it is still just about as narrow. I wouldn't be surprised if more companies follow Markers lead with the Jester/Duke and start making bindings with wider hole patterns.

I don't see how you can say that all the Line skis ski like crap. There is so much variation in the lineup and I doubt you've been on everything from Elizabeths to Invaders to Prophet 100s. My buddy is on Prophet 100s now after skiing on some Volkls for a buncha years, and hes a little lighter weight guy and is having so much more fun on the Prophet 100s because he can actually use the ski. There are sooo many niche skis that companies like Line and K2 are doing now, that to say that all the skis they make ski like crap just makes you look like an uneducated idiot. For instance, rumor has it that the 08/09 Fujative is going to be rockered. Of course this ski would ski like shit for someone comparing it to a public enemy or Volkl Bridge. Next, the only people I recommend Salomon bindings to are women or groms. I've seen more of these break over the years than any other binding by a long shot, including the newest models. Yeah they're lightweight, but if you're gonna get into park at all get some gear that is gonna last you unless you have a budget to keep replacing things. Opinions like these are what keeps many people away from shops. Shit, if I was gonna go to a store and wanted something and knew that someone was gonna tell me it sucks I'd buy online too.

White pants are pimp till you stop at Sheetz and get some chili and mac then drive back to Philly. Then rail juice isn't the juice that matters anymore...

Damn I just bailed on a trip up there this weekend cuz I have so much school stuff to do before Thanksgiving break. My girlfriend is flyin' into town last night and she has off all next week. If that was the case with me I'd be on my way up right now! -

Try some Level gloves. I've loved the dexterity I get with mine, and they are super durable. Just look for somethin with a leather palm and goretex body. I finally had to get ride of my Level XCR's I had for 2 seasons, and picked up a pair of the nice Dakine Cobras. The Levels felt like they fit a little better, but the Dakine is very similar and free was the right price when I won them.
