  2. Newschoolers is a great site for us park types. Its amazing how many kids have blown up just from exposure on that site. People around here constantly say that no one from the industry browses this site, yada yada yada, but they do.
  3. Just got my Invaders tonight. Hoping to ride them at some point this weekend if I can get them thangs mounted up.
  4. Yaa this thread was originally started due to a snow event in the forecast for this past weekend that turned out to be an all rain event for the areas I was looking at. I think the Boulder area got a dusting from it, but no dice in Palmerton and Philly. I think I'm heading up to Mass. over Thanksgiving so we'll see if anything happens up there. I'd prefer not to be driving 84 and the masspike in the snow though.
  5. Bout 25 hours from Philly to Colorado. You can rent a car from most places if your 21, you just pay a young renters fee per day. However, when people are on a budget I usually recommend that they do a Utah trip. Roundtrip flights into Salt Lake are regularly in the 250 to 300 dollar range, transportation while there is usually pretty cheap, and the riding is on par if not better than Colorado. I know more about Utah than Colorado, so maybe someone who has done a Colorado trip can chime in with what they're done. Last year I went out with my girlfriend. We got round trip tickets for around $250. Got a weekly rate for a rental car at $265 (including young renters fee) from National, and the rest was gas, food, and lift tickets. Utah is nice because unlike Denver which is 2+ hours away from skiing, Salt Lake is only 30 to 35 minutes from most skiing. You can get a weekly rate in a Best Western or Super 8 at the bottom of Little or Big Cottonwood Canyons (Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Solitude) and keep things pretty cheap.
  6. It was just so nice it had to get thrown in. I kinda wish there was some more footage of other kids. People were killin' it out there this weekend. Today woulda been the day to film over yesterday though for sure. We just had a much bigger crew up yesterday though.
  7. Needed a reason to push my homework start time back till now so I threw this together real fast. Light is crappy, exposures off, didn't use a tripod, youtube sucks, editing is wack, I know it all so don't bother. Just stoked on riding at all this weekend!
  8. Goin' up Saturday morning, then heading over to Blue in the afternoon. Maybe Sunday as well, it depends on how fun Saturday is....
  9. Werd. Well I must be cured cuz I think I'm goin' up to Boulder Saturday. Just a crazy stressed out night last night.
  10. Come up afterwards. I'm planning on riding Boulder for a bit in the morning depending upon ticket prices. Movie doesn't start till 7, you could leave Boulder at 6:15 and have plenty of time. What is better than a day of riding followed by some dope movies?
  11. Werddd..... Glad you can make it!
  12. I've decided to call winter off for this weekend. What the hell happened to global warming?! For some reason I'm not really that excited at all about anywhere opening if they do... I'm stoked for next weekend, the 17th. I don't know where I'm going but I'll be excited this time next week... Thanks for tuning in.
  13. Title says it all. Snagged a copy of DC's Mountainlab 1.5 and will be showing it after the premier of REALTIME at Blue Mountain this Saturday night. REALTIME starts promptly at 7pm, followed by a product toss/raffle, and then Mountainlab 1.5. Remember, only $5 gets you into both movies and a chance to win some great swag. The bar will have drinks and light food up for purchase, and information will be available on Blue's Freeride Ski and Board programs. Hope to see everyone out there. See the teaser on Youtube!
  14. Only a couple days folks. Hope those that aren't gettin' early turns are stoked and can make it up. PS. After REALTIME and the product toss, we'll be showing DC's Mountainlab 1.5. I promised I was doin' my best to work on something for the boarders, and got it at the last minute. Remember, only $5 gets you into both movies as well the product toss/raffle.
  15. Got somewhat of an update at the instructor's meeting yesterday. Now that Ray Tuthill has passed away, his daughter Barbara is overseeing things at Blue. Where Ray had a little more of a shoot from the hip, no budget, type personality, Barbara is a bit more structured. It sounds like she wants to run everything with a little more of a budget, and have a little more oversight over where money is going and how it is being spent. Each has its pros and cons, but it seems like it will be run a little more like a business now. So keep this in mind from now on when thinking about what they are doing up at Blue. As for the trail, the estimate to install lights and snowmaking was $1.2 million. With Ray passing away and his daughter settling in, it was decided that it could wait till next season while they take care of some other things, namely some of the Ski School things. Ray was a great owner and definitely will be missed by a lot of folks. However, we all know the future of the ski industry in more temperate areas looks a little bleak, and it probably won't hurt to have someone at the helm who is a little more aware and conservative financially. This is just the picture I got, I could be right on, or I could be sooooo far out in left field that I'm outa the park. If anyone has an credible info then by all means please chime in.
  16. Agreed. Thanksgiving at Park 1260? Your girlfriend won't mind right Chris? I'll bring some rink snow and cranberry sauce...
  17. Hmm thats kinda cool. Most mountains only offer season pass discounts to spouse or children. Blue's is only twenty bucks for a no limits season pass for your spouse or children, but I always wanted to get one for my dad or my little brother and couldn't.
  18. W.I.D.E.
  19. That stream has zero to do with snowmaking at Blue. In fact, they had to do several things to make sure that there is as little impact as possible on that stream from the operation in order to appease the proper authorities and environmentalists...
  20. Nice Keith!
  21. Ya I also have heard people complain about the prices up there. Though they are very stingy with the discounts if I remember correctly... Maybe thats somewhere else I was thinking of.
  22. Nice job! I have had zero time to even upload my footage. Noticed you got some of the hotspots where the lights were as well. I think doing a whitebalance can help correct this, somewhat anyway... I'm gonna try it next time.
  23. Not likely but it gets me stoked just to see some snow flyin' around. Also not likely with the thaws we seem to be getting every year. Never know about the possibility of an impromptu railjam though...
  24. I always get excited on Accuweather and it never seems to be right........ BUT!!! Do some diggin' around on forecasts for Philly, Palmerton, and a few other locales and see what it gives you on and around November 9th and 10th and 13th.... yeah its a long way off but its still there...
  25. Ya know what I was thinkin' though? If any of the kids in the various programs at Blue were misbehaving, you could tie em down in front of the bulldozer and fire that thing up and give it a few revs and I bet they'd crap their pants and shape up pretty quick...
