Weather Channel forecast is for more 60 degree days come the weekend...
  2. Killington has a bunch of generators down at their Snowshed base. I don't remember seeing them before but I'm sure they've had them in the past. I didn't realize you guys sucked up all the power available down there. AMEN!!! I'm almost tempted to switch back to weather.com or wunderground.com. Huge props for being so involved on the boards. You guys are keeping a ton of customers who would definitely go elsewhere if they didn't see the active involvment of a management who cares.
  3. This kid hates Blue with a passion.
  4. riiiiiight.....
  5. Damn Jeff must have a good source...
  6. This post takes all. Everyone else may now go home/to bed.
  7. They've changed up those damn chicken tenders like 4 times so far this season. They were awesome the first few days, then they went back to the same ones as last year, and then they went to ones that were worse. Wonder which ones you got... Bottom lodge or top?

    Twin Tippers

Pretty sure he was joking.... I've always heard good things about the Karmas, but like Papa said they are a little pricey. I loved my Troublemakers as an all mountain ski, but if you're riding out west at all or anywhere with deeper snow you might appreciate the extra width underfoot that a ski like the Karma gives you. In my experience if you want a twin that skis a bit better, go with a bigger manufacturer like Volkl, Dynastar, Rossi, etc... Companies like Line or Armada tend to ski better for park only and sacrafice all mountain performance for this.
  9. Ya I've been up a few nights to ski park and its been fun. However, I enjoy more than just the park aspect of skiing, and would rather have a run that lasts more than 10 seconds when I wanna open it up and make some turns. It's what keeps me coming back to Blue every year. The fact that at some point this year we will have a slammin' park only makes that better.
  10. Not your lucky day yesterday, then again it wasn't anyones. Things were much better today. The new snow really helped everything. Park Crue built a new small jump and made two nice lips on the larger hit. Given the fact that the "shoulder high" jump was made just to have some backup snow to push around in case things got super bad in the park, and has actually been fun on a few days, I'm not too upset with it. I've been just as depressed as everyone else with the conditions, and it is just showing how much of a difference 10 or 15 miles makes. Bear is closed, Blue is hurtin, and Boulder and Frost have the best snow around, but are by no means well off. The fact that Blue gets a ton of traffic in a normal season makes the park hard to maintain in the first place, and when you put near average holiday crowds onto 10% of your normal open terrain, I'm having trouble wondering what you were expecting. I've never seen the traffic in Bear's parks that I see in Blue's parks on a regular basis, and I ride both regularly. We were given Come Around as an early season park, which is the first season we've been able to put features out for opening day. Do I need to compare the width of Come Around to the width of the terrain that Bear has to work with in terms of putting features out? I wasn't at Bear on opening day, but from pictures I saw there was much more space to work with. Keep in mind that we still have to deal with customers who want to just ski down the trail, and you saw how little base there is. As I'm sure you know undreds of people an hour power wedging down Lazy doesn't help anyone with keeping snow on the trail. They've been trucking snow from bottom to top just to keep the place open... Lack of effort? I'm not tryin to argue with ya, but I don't think you're giving people who deserve it enough credit. Its just one of those what are they supposed to do situations. I think they'd love to run the groomers at 3pm which it definitely needs, but to do that would be impossible crowd wise. There are 2 or 3 major trails open, and there is just not enough room to shut another trail down during the day with how many people are there.
  11. BB is by far the most klepto laden mountain around. Several of my buddies have had stuff stolen there. Its a wonder people aren't missing cars when the try to go home at that place.
  12. I'll be out with the Freeriders all morning. Give a shout if you see me.
  13. Amen to the ridiculously crowded.

    therein lies the problem
  15. I want it to get cold, but at least we're open... Bad day at the mountain for me, but still better than not skiing.
  16. Great conditions today. Best snow of the season all morning. Super grippy, parks in great shape, good times for all.
  17. Common knowledge.... And no one knows how far its going to be buried until we see how much snow there is to work with. Ya there was a little talk amongst people with how it was kinda just placed smack dab in the middle of the trail. That kinda defeats widening the trail in my opinion. That things gonna be a huge feature when its done, and its gonna take up a hell of a lot more room than what it takes up now once you build the launch, landing, and both sides of snow up to it. Should be interesting once the sun hits the thing in the spring and warms up the bus. Hot car on a sunny day anyone??? Imagine the crevasses on both sides if that theory holds true.
  18. Is it sposed to rain today or be partly cloudy? I'm lookin at the Doppler now and there's rain over like the entire half of the country, but the forecast for today is party cloudy/sunny.
  19. I love my Black Iridiums. Kinda wish I had the white frame. I got the matte black with black iridiums.
  20. Ya you really notice this when you ski at both mountains. Within 2 minutes of the park being open at Blue today there were people catching air off the lips to every single jib in the park. I think we saw that once or twice all night long at Boulder. Boulder has the no rentals in the park policy, and it looks like the mountain is going 100% park, so in that way you cut down on a lot of people who don't know what they're doing. The beginner/intermediate parks at Blue are a lost cause with trying to keep these people out, hopefully the stairs do something....

An explanation has been given many times. I guess management feels that stairs don't block of the trail in the same way a park pass would for the customers that Blue really tries to cater to, the families and people who come up one or two weekends a year and spend a lot of money on rentals, food, etc etc etc.......
  22. Good morning at Blue. Fresh snow was nice to have all over. Still a little hard for my edges, but skiable. Hopin' for some more terrain soon. Gonna be another crowded weekend if we can't get some more open.
  23. what else is new

Which is the exact same thing that we're hoping everyone on rentals, or with little kids, or the race team during training, or just people in general who shouldn't be in an expert level terrain park will say as they ski past them instead of mosying on down through the otherwise wide and easily accessible entrance to Sidewinder so that they can catch a foot of air off of every feature in the park. There is a beginner/intermediate park setup, and with the construction of the stairs that is where we are trying to steer people who that park would better service.
