  1. Kevin took like 500 pics. That boy is nuts. You could actually ski to within a 300 yard walk from the base, but the last part was a walk through mud and rocks that didnt really look much fun. The run all the way down to Olympic midstation was open, we usually did that because it was so much faster than riding the gondola all the way from the top. They had an amazing year this year.
  2. Yeah the drops were in such good condition for may. Only on the last day did they crap out a little bit. I dont know whats yellower, my coat or Toasts piss, disgusting... You can ski Utah, you can ski Colorado, and then you'll ski Whistler in the right conditions and you'll know whats up.
  3. Dunno if this link was posted, but this dude is outa control. http://www.head.com/ski/news.php?region=us&id=164

    06-07 plans

I can sell you a sweet bike. With shocks... Lucky.
  5. I was just talking up Mt. Kilimanjarro (sp?) today! I wonder how much their trips are and what kind of vertical you can do?
  6. The warm spell that happened kinda killed the "battle of the parks" that was highly anticipated this year. The snow was just so hard to work with at both places. Right after Bear put in the 48ft. U type rail(is there a name for that thing?) early in the season their park was great, after that I was disappointed but it was no fault of theirs, just what the weather gave us. Hopefully we get lucky next year.
  7. Nice, I was hoping somebody would beat them. I'll be skiing Blue when I have to...
  8. If you go Salomon, go new. 75 days is like 4 or 5 seasons for the average skier. I don't know many 3 or 4 year old skis go for over $350... More like $150 tops.
  9. This is probably the lightest setup of any freeride ski out there that is off-piste/powder worthy. Definitely worth it if the skis are in good shape. Shipping will cost anywhere between $35 and $60 dollars w/ insurance.
  10. Yeah don't discount Lines big mountain offerings. I haven't been to Montana since I was very young, so I don't know what the scene there is. In Utah, Line, Volkl, and Dynastars legend series are extremely popular. I had no problems on my Big Troubles, which like I said have a 92mm waist, on softer bumps in Europe. Anything back East forget about it. I think he'd be happiest with something 85mm plus. If he decides to stick with skiing, and starts skiing with a crew that is all on 95mm plus skis, hes going to want to bump up because he won't be able to keep up. Everyone I've known with the Salomon Foils, K2 Public Enemies, and Line Chronic Wides loves them, so right now those would be my suggestions.
  11. For where you guys live your best bet is to just take a look at skis you see the experts in the liftline wearing. These days, you don't see to many people who spend the majority of their time off-piste riding anything with less than a 90mm waist. If I was coming out there, I'd be bringing my Dynastar Big Troubles, which have a 92 waist, and if it snowed alot I'd probably prefer something with even more waist. However, you shot yourself in the foot with "lots of moguls." You're going to find that anything over an 80mm waist is gonna be horrible in the bumps. There is just to much ski underfoot to do the quick turns in moguls that aren't soft and fresh. Basically, once he gets good hes gonna wish he had something bigger for the 30" dump days, and hes gonna wish he had something smaller when theres a drought and all anyones skiing is bumps. Maybe look at some skis in the mid 80's ranges, like the Foil from Salomon, or the Public Enemy from K2. There are a ton out there, almost to many. Just find a good deal and go with it, after a season of skiing out there, he'll know what he wants after hangin out and talking with the local skiers.

    2007 skis

I have yet to see a ski that is perfect... I've seen skis from every major company blow up in some way or another. I love my Dynastars, and I've had a few issues, but they take care of it and it has never been anything major. I've seen Atomics blow edges and get bent. I could go on, but I think you get the point. Now if you know that a ski is going to blow up when you buy it, ex. Line Invader, then I can see a "Dont buy it!" warning. However, people I know love their Invaders, then just don't really stay together. With 4Frnt, I saw one blow up once but the majority of them are seeming to hold together fine...
  14. ewwwwww. Change that shit up!!! How about May SIXteenth???
  15. Like the article says, is all about demand. Bear Creek has had a fair amount of success with their hotel from what I've heard, so I would think Blue would have similar if not greater demand. The first step would be serving beer in pint glasses and charging market prices. I can hope...
  16. Any more talk of dates???
  17. Did you buy one in New Orleans?
  18. Doug, you would rent your time out if you weren't going to use it... It would probably be run through another company that Blue would contract with. Same way every other timeshare is run. Thats why it is an investment opportunity. Sexkitten and Bob might do very well if they bought one. If it is run by another company on a contract Blue, then these companies sometimes let owners trade in their timeshares to get points or something like that and get time shares elsewhere. My mom has used timeshare credits from one that she owns to get condos in Mexico and Utah. Thats one of the biggest perks of timeshare ownership.

    Any Advice

Get a longboard and start skatin to get around... Fallin on asphalt blows, but you'll get the hang of it and it will improve your balance alot.
  21. Get a helmet cam man... I just found I can get a helmet cam with mic for like $275. Granted you need a video camera to hook it up to, but still a good price.
  22. Whistler for 4 days in May...
  23. You need some better pics man. Does you camera have a "macro" focus mode? This allows it to focus at close range. Sorry if you know this already, just making sure. The pic looks like the topsheet has split from the base but is still attached, which I guess isn't the case. Since your topsheet is gone, I'd recommend getting a shop opinion. They'll likely quote you a price thats pretty high, in which case you might be better of getting a new board and like righthanded said make this one a rock board. You can still use epoxy to seal the base from the elements and kind of make a topsheet, although its never going to be the way it was.
  24. Best home rigged fix I've seen for an issue like that is some good quality epoxy and a good set of vice-grips. Put some epoxy in the seperated area, sandwich the affected area of the board between some nice flat pieces of 1" or 2" thick pieces of wood, then clamp tight with vice-grips and let sit for a good long while. edit: Don't use 1" or 2" thick pieces of wood... I thought I was looking at a different area of the board cuz the pics were a little fuzzy. You're gonna need to use wood that has a bit of flex to it.
  25. One might say he is a student of medicine... I'll let him explain.
