Come off in one run? Rub on wax yeah... Hot wax no. Waxing is nice, especially for runs around here where its tough to get speed for some of the features. Keeps your speed more consistent too, you don't get slowed down as much by the mushy spots.

I looked around on the internet a little and saw that these are selling for a little bit less that I orginally asked. Price is now $75 or best offer. C'mon guys, buy these for that girl you have been eyein up.

The big purple ones that you find on produce in the grocery store work real well.

Nah they are up there alot. I think the one girl is actually the daughter of the director of the snowboard school, but I may have heard wrong. They definitely rip though. Probably cuz I'm up there more than you John. Not anymore though... Yes I'm bitter that I have classes Tuesday through Thursday.

Wow look at all the different options people have who are beginners or want to improve in the park. I wish I coulda had this many when I was a beginner! Its been a long time coming, but mountains in our area seem to finally have answered the call of many freeriders. Better parks, better instruction... I can't wait to see what comes next?!?

Snowboards? There are two girls that I think are kids or siblings of people in the board school, and one of them is sponsored by Roxy. I forget their names though...

Unfortunately in this situation the downhill skier has the right of way. All to often I overhear kids from schoolgroups and others bragging about how they made it down a double black or a black diamond, and when I see them out there they are sitting on their skis or boards and sledding down the hill. It seems as if there is nothing we can do to educate those who use the mountain only a few times a year on the proper ways to ski and ride. Many of the customers of mountains in our area see their day there as another day at the amusement park, where they want no responsibility for themselves and take no responsibility for their actions. Like others have said before, it unfortunately may take someones death or serious injury in the park, or on an expert run, before mountains begin to consider this issue and re-evaluate the signage used to educate customers.

I'm selling a pair of Overcast Oakley A-Frames with an Iridium Blue Lens. They are brand new, never been worn, only taken out of the box to take a picture of them for a flyer I posted at Blue. Retail on these is $120, and I've never seen a shop selling them for below that except in extremely rare cases. I'm asking $85 or best offer. I leave a week from today so please make some offers people, I could ebay these for 100 dollars easy but I have no motivation and as I said I'm leaving.

lemme know about the Anons larry. My aim screenname is the same as this. just IM me there.

Haha keep Nipples older skis Papa, just keep your eyes and ears open for any deals you see on newer junior gear. Thanks man.

My fault for saying Gurp worked at Bear, misread on my part. Sorry Gurp! Yeah, we spend alot of time coaching "for free." Most of the kids that are in the program, and some of their friends, often come out and ride with the older skiers who have been skiing park for a while during weeknights and weekend afternoons. We met these kids through the program, and now they are progressing and their friends are seeing it and wanting to be a part of it. There is no way we would only help younger guys and girls out based on whether or not they are paying us.

Don't forget that one of those tin signs is spoken for. I can get you money sometime this weekend or friday night Jib.

Blue Mountains freeride ski program is $75 dollars for a day of instruction. It goes from 9am till 1pm, and we often go a little longer. Considering a regular private ski lesson costs $75 for an hour, I think its a pretty good deal. If you have any questions about Blue's freeride program, ask me or Skier150, as he is the director. And as Gurp said, if you have any questions about Bears options, ask him. Good luck man.

Thanks for respecting the park sexkitten! We need more like you. Keep your eyes peeled for PASR stickers on skis and I'm sure one of us would gladly give you a tour if you wanna see what goes down in there. Papa, whats the length on those Darksides. I don't know anyone offhand but I'll keep my ears open. We are looking for twins for some of the kids that joined up with the program this weekend. The kids are pretty short, both 9 years old I believe, and would need something around a 130 I'm thinking. Keep your eyes peeled. Thanks.

I'll take one of the tin Bass signs off your hands for $9.99. I really can't afford $10.00 because I'm trying to save money for my trip. Seriously though I'll take one of the signs. I'm up at Blue friday nights, Saturday and Sunday most of the day. If you wanna throw in a "pint glorifier," I'll throw in a day pass to Blue for ya.

is all this stuff used larry? I need some goggles...

Yeah I'm of the opinion that every feature in the lower park should be extremely easy to hit, and there should be several small jumps, not just one. I would like to see that park be a truly beginner park with all the features low to the ground and the jumps small like you see in some of the beginner parks at bigger mountains. That way you would mostly have people doing small airs and whatnot, not more advanced riders flying over people that are trying to learn...
-
I think the park should be ALWAYS staffed. There should be a visible presence of not only park crue, but people who can answer questions, and politely direct peoples attention to the signs and warnings BEFORE they enter the park. This could test out if passes are really necessary, because perhaps if families or crappy riders had a chance to reconsider and read the dangers of the park, then it would cut down on some of the traffic. Just trying to think of different ways to solve this ever growing problem. Park passes for life!

Lower Sidewinder will be cleaned up "as soon as it gets cold enough." I am starting to hate that phrase coming from those loyal to Bear Creek and Blue...

Doug its a real good time man. I spent alot of time on carpet this summer and my comfort level on my skis went way up. Keep in mind I've been skiing since I was 3 so I didn't think I could get more comfortable. I'd love hanging out with skiers year round.

If you haven't been cut off at Blue, then you don't ride enough.

Watch the riders in videos who do them, and watch in slow mo. This is one of the best ways to see where their bodies and body parts are when the hit the lip, and also to see where they are looking throughout the move. I would try to give you a good description of how I've thrown them, but it would probably confuse you just as much as every other post on this topic has confused me.
