  1. White Lightning at Montage. Steepest run in PA and usually has bumps.
  2. I have a friend trying to get me to go up over thanskgiving. Hope they get temps going to blow out the rest of the month.
  3. So the ski club i'm in had there annual Ski meet with the mountains last night and the wife won us a trip up to Bolton (again) for 2 days 2 nights so it looks like i'll be hitting up Burlington again. Think this time i'll go bookend the trip with Stowe and maybe Jay depending on how far it is or Smuggs again. I'll have to see how the days line up but hey two free nights sounds great to me.
  4. I mostly see them for tailgate coolers/grills and some sundries. Haven't seen them strewn about 322 on my way to state college so they can't be that bad lol.
  5. Oh no someone else is talking about Vert. Did Doug hack your account?
  6. I was at GP this summer for a wedding. The hotel/lodge was pretty nice and good service. I didn't get a chance to check out the water park but the mountain looked fairly tame. Guess there is parts that are decent but if I was driving to NY already i'd keep going the extra bit to get to the other mountains from first impresions.
  7. I'd like to hit up gore as well. I heard they have some decent glades when the snow is right.
  8. Is that icecream in the last post before he yard sale'd?
  9. College football regular season ends thanksgiving weekend (not including bowl season). Should have been more specific lol.
  10. People starting to message me about trips and such always gets me thinking about the winter with the cold weather starting to come in. Once football season is over its an all out waiting game for the snow.
  11. Killington was my first big mountain experience as well. I enjoyed the mountain but would like to go back again now that i'm a little more seasoned to see what the off map terrain has to offer. I had a great time when we went because of lodging and company but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list for VT mountains i've been to.
  12. Sold to real estate group. Building houses from Top to Bottom on Cliff Hanger. Lol hopefully its a ski group and we get some sort of a dual season pass with another resort or what not.
  13. I had a pretty good experience at Salters but luckily a Dabello boot fit my foot nicely.
  14. I'm looking into a Jay Peak trip so I may add a day to hit Sugarbush while i'm up there again. The Slide Brook Basin area was some of the most fun i've had skiing. Maybe we'll be able to catch up again.
  15. I enjoyed bolton when I went. Where I learned to ski glades/trees. I put up a report 2 seasons ago if your looking for any details.
  16. The overall hope for me is to hit somewhere out west. Possible Utah but not sure what the finances will look like by winter. Other than that i'm thinking about heading north of the border for a couple days to see what Canada has to offer and hitting Jay, Stowe and if the weather lines up right a trip to Magic. The rest we'll have to see how it goes and if I have a co-pilot for drives.
  17. I was there in pretty solid conditions. The mountain is nice but is usually insanely crowded.
  18. Hunter gets incredibly crowded from my mild experience and others. Plattekill is one to consider if they have enough terrain open.
  19. I agree whenever I travel to new resorts especially up in VT my run count is minimal compared to doing groomers all day but the quality runs makes it amazing.
  20. Possibility for me as well.
  21. I was meeting a bunch of people there but MRG is definitely on the list of must hits. Only problem is that because of it needing so much natural it's hard to plan a trip to specifically. Ill probably keep it in mind next time I head up and see if conditions warrant.
  22. Have you made it up to Jay? I heard their tree skiing is unreal.
  23. I wouldn't say its clearly marked but if you follow people going in you'll be all good (just keep a distance). The traverse/entrance is pretty clear based on tracks and then the subsequent entrances to the actual run is to your left after going under the slidebrook lift. After reaching the bottom follow the cat tracks most of which are slightly downhill (a little pushing here and there) and you'll end up at the access road. There were a good amount of people going in here and there so it wasn't hard to meet a couple new friends to go in with that know the area. I think they do guided tours as well though if i'm not mistaken.
  24. Man you hit a great time to be in VT it is in incredible condition and is setup for a late season push if daily ticket holders keep up. Have you gone under the rope and down the backside of smuggs? I heard its amazing down there but they'll clip your ticket if caught but they won't chase you to do it.
  25. So today closed out my trip. I arrived at the mountain booted up and was on the bluebird express by 8:30. After heading up I hit two runs on north face to get the legs going. I then did the trees off of PDF which were a bit skied out but not icy. After struggling a bit the legs finally clicked in so I decided to take a look at the trees off of Olympic that one of the guys I talked to yesterday told me about. The trees in there had great snow and plenty of untracked lines with little to no crunch. These trees were well spaced where you could really rip some of the sections. I can't believe we are this late in the season with these conditions. I did a bunch of runs in the olympic trees and really got going as the legs rebounded. After meeting up with my friends we did some runs around the mountain and found pretty good conditions on most trails with some slickness in spots but overall pretty damn good. This ended up being a great way to end the trip skiing with friends and seeing a better side to mount snow then my previous visit last year. Now back to the real world ugh.
