Snowtime Weekend in S.Central PA - Roundtop & Whitetail
toast21602 replied to Ski2Live Live2Ski's topic in Other Mountains
Whatever is steeper. 18" of snow on flat trails isn't going to be fun. -
-
It isn't garden season right now. Sorry.
-
Sure? Might be tough with the wind again. What should the prize be? Loaf of bread? Beer? High five?
-
@PSUFly thanks for that beer sample! Who makes it? I forget what brewery you mentioned. Smelled like mango, tasted like weed.
-
@saltyant charge up your GoPro for tomorrow. I'll be bringing mine too. Currently charging đź‘Ť

I can see it was edited to add ski2die but not deleted.

Keep your stupidity in your own threads.

Back form Blue. Great session this morning with some awesome groomers across most of the mountain. I think we are in for a treat with this upcoming storm. It was fairly crowded to start but since the quad was running the lift lines weren't too bad. Still lines filled with maskless idiots that needed to be called out. Lots of PASRs in the house today. Razors was nice. Main was fantastic. Most other trails were between good and V good. Lazy was kinda trashy. Scoped out 'Coming Soon' and look forward to skiing that tomorrow or Tuesday morning depending on what actually happens with this storm. As I sit here typing, there is a lot of snow coming down and the ground at Mt. Mik is white. Current predictions in this area are for 18-22". Buckle up ladies and gentleman! This will be fun to watch!

It’s as open as you want it to be.

Tuesday AM I would imagine is mostly groomed. Tomorrow morning probably not? But it’s Blue, so ya never really know.
-
No protocol. Mostly depends when the snow falls. If overnight, stuff gets left alone on some trails. If most of the snow falls during the day it will be groomed overnight

It’s not that common for a mother to have three hours between the birth of fraternal twins. Are you sure your time is correct?
-
Wow let’s make this a day of kindness.

Nice report. Never knew anybody that skied there. I ran a marathon two years ago that went down Masthope Plank road at the base and could still see snow there and it made me curious what the place actually looked like.
-
Well that sounds absolutely miserable.

Looks good! Great day to be out. -
Will do.

Yup. @JFskiDan and I were talking about this as you were leaving this morning. Could be quite interested, especially if this upcoming storm produces and snow sticks around for a bit. Similar scenario to the storm of all storms that allowed us to ski every inch of Blue and get in some sidecountry turns down the gas line.
-
Sure is. It would be nice to have a storm without crazy winds though.

not 100% true. their new guns put out fantastic snow if they try. The snow they put down on Razors this morning was magical compared to the cookies elsewhere. Consistency is their issues. Inconsistent snow making, inconsistent grooming. Their quality may be horrendous sometimes, but the amount of snow they can put out to get us on snow ASAP early season is top notch.
