Schif and Skinncy make a Colorado skication

Trip report is a must, but I'll leave the decision of including photos to those on the trip. -
The best part! Looking forward to tomorrow!

Thanks for the analysis. AND you probably got better snow here anyway. Always a win.

Another important thing to note is yesterday @mute1080 and I were talking with @GrilledSteezeSandwich and he said he was going out to the bar Saturday night but would be skiing Sunday since he already used up his hangover day for the year. While waiting for the lifts to start spinning @AtomicSkier informed us that he received word that he party-rocked too hard and wasn't going to ski today. SMH.

Agreed. 10/10 conditions on Main, TCS, Stunt Ditch. Cold, sunny, lovely morning. Took the xc skis out to try and get more comfortable in them on the learning hill. Good parking lot scene and much warmer there with full sun. A lot of PASRs there today.

Sounds epic, minus the vom! Have a great time! -
Speaking of freezing up, can we talk about some of the massive fucking potholes that this last storm / freeze / thaw / whatever fell from the sky caused? Pretty sure there was a Chevy Sonic stuck in a hole by Lehigh Elementary that I just drove right over since the hole was so deep. It is like a war zone on some of these roads.

Today was way wayyyy better than expected. Blue did a great job recovering from the shit weather. TCS was my run of the day. If @Johnny Lawdoesn’t own that Honda truck by the end of the season I’m going to be bummed.

Went from heavy rain, to sleet, to snow, to sunset all within a few short hours. Now it’s 24° and everything is frozen.

Thats a long drive home. Things are definitely getting sketchy out this way with roads and ice so be careful if you actually do come home tonight. It is legit slick out there. The 3rd worst kind of slick.

You'll still have an epic time and get there before the majority of the people that will be skiing today!

I think we all could benefit from an hour of instruction from the Pastel Prince himself.

No these are definitely more of a classic nordic touring than nordic backcountry. Should be good to shuffle around on "trails" and parks around here but I would love to get them on groomed trail and in-track sometime to really use them. 59/51/55 sidecut so more of a cross between classic and skate skis.

It bothers me that this shoveled path isn’t centered.

Took out the new xc skis for a short cruise around the local park before the rain storm. Plenty of open soccer fields and a nice trail loop there. My dog joined in on the fun too, and took a nice shit mid ski. These things are FAST and fun. They glide so well and grip on inclines fairly well too. Even managed to go over the trampled footprints just fine. The Alpina boots fit perfectly and are so much more comfortable than I expected. I estimated well on the pole length too. Truly™️ excited to take these out with @Mixilplix @mbike-ski and others the next chance we get!

Ski Essentials out of Stowe. They were great to deal with over the phone and seemed to have really knowledgeable xc reps to get me into a decent intro package.
