I think you are spot on with this. The quad has always had issues and putting more pressure on it is going to create issues. Saturday when they were both running was ideal, but definitely won't be the midweek norm.

Sure you can. Their trail map lists them both as orange oval "freestyle terrain". It isn't going to change this season and sadly, we can't pretend that it will.

Yep. I think I paid $259? Not sure, but it was cheap and easily pays for itself with a day or two at Shawnee, Montage, and Greek for some variety beyond Blue.

I was considering an Epic pass this year but after seeing how these places look this season I am kind of glad that I didn't get one. I have no trips planned out west so at least I have the flexibility of going to a less crazy place when I do plan something. I did get the Indy Pass which is mostly smaller places. I'm hoping to use it firs the first time next week now that it has been cold and places are getting a lot more open here on the east coast. It makes me not want Blue to be on a pass because it would end up looking like some of these places. It would be great to have the option to check out other places on the same pass, but crowds like this would just frustrate me. I'm just rambling at this point, but anyway, hopefully you can get some more touring days to avoid some of that madness.

Do we actually know what the options were for folks stuck at the bottom? Last year when the lifts went down they offered the shuttle van but said it would take a while to get everyone to the top so they told people they could walk up to the doubles if they didn't want to wait. Similar to that big February storm last year when people walked up to the doubles. It would be super shitty if they just stranded people but I can't imagine they just left people down there with no options. This is Blue, not Camelback.
