  1. that sounds terrible. terribly fun.
  2. nice. hard to mess up snow when it doesn't make it out of the 20s. even Blue has some great snow right now.
  3. What a stellar start to the season. Thanks for the pictures! Can't wait to ski this weekend!
  4. Let me know.
  5. Yeah it's too expensive at PowMow. Stay home.
  6. and more fun.
  7. how/why are you spending so much for a trip out there? it can be done for <$1000 pp easily... including food and beer.
  8. Who will be there this weekend? Where are you parking? What beer are you bringing?
  9. damn. I was thinking of heading up. You have to let me know when you do evening sessions.
  10. ***EPAWA FIRST CALL MAP FOR SAT/SUN WINTER STORM*** A major winter storm will affect the area this weekend, and for some areas will have the potential to be the largest one-storm snowfall since the Halloween storm of 2011 for some... but this is not a run to the grocery store and raid the milk and bread isle storm. The above link will provide a bigger map than the one shown here, and also include synopsis, timing, and discusses the banding wildcard that can create a few surprises, and pleasant surprises if you are looking for more snow. Purple and red dashed circled areas have "see text" text to it, and the text is as follows: PURPLE SHADED AREAS: 4-8"+ snow, best chance to remain all or mostly snow and the best chance to meet or exceed posted totals. RED CIRCLED AREAS: Wildcard area we are watching for potential banding that can increase snowfall rates along the expected thermal gradient. This will be an 11th hour call and has the ability to increase snowfall rates and totals where this banding sets up. Beyond what is posted here, you can visit the link at the very top of the post for any answers. Since this information is clearly provided, we will not be answering specific questions. The information is self-explanatory and easy to understand. Thank you.
  11. that only happens in Utah, especially PowMow
  12. cold weather should be in place. looking like an all snow event as of right now.
  13. at least the guy seems like he is big on conservation. hopefully that will help preserve the place so it doesn't end up looking like a zoo.
  14. http://vimeo.com/81619878
  15. that shouldn't even be a question.
  16. True statement.
  17. Because I thought they had 4" instead of 3"? Not much of a difference. Sorry I don't carry a ruler when I ski.
  18. ~4" at Blue when I left at 11:45. Great conditions out there this morning. I wish more was open because when I got there at 10, there were still pockets of untouched snow on the trails. Low crowds and more trails would have made today pretty great.
  19. 1.5" near Blue right now. At leas that's what I can tell from my window. Gonna venture outside soon and check it out before heading up to Blue.
  20. just over an inch up here around Blue. I'll probably let it come down a bit before I head up there.
  21. I think that was there. both times I've been up there it was never open so I'm not sure what the status of it really is. I've only been there while the place was Sno, though, so things were always a little odd.
  22. Blue will have 1000'+ of vert open this weekend. JF is fun, but its only fun when it is 100% open and there is a good base of snow in the trees - both of which are not happening right now. Of course I'm biased towards Blue, but at this point, it seems like it will be the best option in the "Poconos" this weekend. And I don't think crowds will be a problem still this early in the season.
  23. mountains will be crowded today because people think they actually got snow. ~1" at Blue.
