Looking at the snow they still had today they can make it another week very easily. 2 weeks shouldn't be that difficult. They don't need to be 100% to close and I hope they are thinking that way

I agree trev. One more thing to add to the negatives is the cost. It's very expensive to get there, while getting to Utah can easily be 1/2 the price. I would still love to get back to Jackson, though.

unfortunately the GI bug bit me after i posted that from school today. i was going to let my students out early too so i could head up there. i guess my body had other plans. trying to kick this tonight and then head up to Blue tomorrow for opening.

i'm hoping for the 25th along with Blue. it looks like it could really happen especially with the snowmaking they have been able to do the last few nights. this morning was great up there.

"A forest fire was sighted Monday night between the Lehigh River and the Blue Mountain Ski Area, about 15 miles north of Allentown, according to police radio reports. The flames were reported as a brush fire at 7:40 p.m. An hour and a half later, a Northampton County emergency dispatch supervisor said the fire was not totally contained, but it was no longer out of control. Witnesses to a "glow in the sky" initially were not sure if the fire was in Washington Township, Lehigh County; East Penn Township, Carbon County; or Lehigh Township, Northampton County. But within minutes, emergency officials determined the fire was at the top of Blue Mountain in Lehigh Township. Fire officials sent a small crew on an all-terrain vehicle to help pinpoint the fire, size it up and determine how far it was likely to spread. The mountain is fairly dry, and the night's light wind was from the northwest. The fire appeared to be moving east. As the crew rode toward the forest fire, they found a campfire that appeared to have been abandoned in a hurry. The firefighters put out that fire and continued on. At 8:45 p.m., the crew reported that the fire appeared to be fueled more by grasses than by trees. Emergency officials asked for more firefighters, prepared to hike deep into the woods. i thought that was assumed.

i'm waking up at 630 and checking the radar. if its ugly i'll go to the gym, if its clearing i'll head up. or i'll just head up and drink in my car.

didn't go skiing today. had to work 3a-7p.... but i did come home to this. can't wait for the season to begin!

Both days. No rush to get there tomorrow unless the rain holds off. Just calling for am showers now so I'll be there for sure unless that changes.

this morning at Blue. very few people. perfectly soft snow. i don't know why more people don't come out the day after rain. it was great!
