i really don't recall many other hills actually cutting new trails recently like Blue... i might be wrong. but Blue has been adding, even if its just something small like razorback or something big like nightmare/dreamweaver.

was up today. conditions were not bad at all. thinking about going up tomorrow after work. we will see.

i'll be up tomorrow between meetings for some runs, i think.

Doubt it was insignificant. Blue will gladly take it. Season passes for them and most likely their families all adds up.

yeah. with Bear closed i bet they are bringing in a lot more cash this weekend than they normally would. not that i ski at either place or have ever skied at Spring to comment, it is still more crowded at Spring mt than it is at Bear right now... give them credit for opening even if they are small and suck.

webcam shows them still blowing. looks like that might help things open a little sooner. i didn't expect a full 24 hours of snow making.

awesome morning. conditions were perfect to start. best couple of runs i've had all year. after 9:00 when the masses came it got a little ugly but still fun. Root and i headed out around 10:30 and they were still making snow on the valley school, paradise, tubing, razors, and the top of the 6pack and quad. not sure if anything was going on over near burma. just checked the webcam and they are still blowing. they are doing a great job this year with what they have been given. every week there is something new to get excited about with more trails opening, unlike last year when everything was opened up pretty quickly. i guess it gives you something to look forward to.

i'll be up for opening tomorrow, in the lower lot of course.

They absolutely will. My only worry is Bear. This has got to he crushing whatever they had. It's only 39 at Blue and hasn't gotten higher than that today that I have seen. Maybe they will see some flakes as the temps drop.

Camelback has done it in the past and still has 'alien' days every year. Blue wouldn't do it if it didn't benefit them. We all know how they work up there.... Maybe people won't be convinced to go to blue this year but maybe next year when they remember not opening until the middle of January.they will reconsider their season pass choices...
