are you going up today? it looks like there might be a nice break in 2 or so hours and i'm thinking of heading up then...
-
i hope this rain doesnt hurt Bear too much... i know it has already been kinda tough for them to be opening up more trails and then this rain comes along... boo.
-
its making you look stupid because it is the first day all season that it has been 50+ and rainy. Its not even winter yet, 11 more days and it will be. Stop being so negative and be happy that you even have the opportunity to ski so far this year. you are getting on all of our nerves by stomping around like a hot head and cursing up a storm about one freakin' rainy day and the weather men who are never right. get over it.

quit bitching. it's making you look stupid. we have all had the opportunity to ski since November.

not me, but please, move to Cali.

doesnt look like the rain is going to hit until around lunch or later tomorrow. i'm heading up the Blue in the AM for opening, and hoping to miss the rain.
-
i'll be there for opening.... although, Tuesday's date is the 9th.

yeah Rice and some of the rest of the crew who are actually out there working are doing a good job. I'm a big fan of the 40' double barrel rail and have been ever since they built it. the park has a lot of little cool features that i hope they can take to the next level in Sidewinder. I'm also excited to see what they throw together for the beginner park this Friday too. should be a good time.

glad to see these west coast trip reports pourin' in....
-
yeah, not going to happen. They were hoping it would be open. The owners, not so much. that just means more money to spend.

Lazy opened today... judging by everything that they were blowing on and the amount of snow that was piled around, they could easily have the 6pack open tomorrow. buttttt, i think they will most likely wait until the weekend, since that seems to be the trend around there. from the webcam, it still looks like they are making copious amounts of snow all over, which is good.

Just got back from a decent 2.5 hour session at Blue after we got a few inches of snow last night. GrilledSteeze, AtomicJeff, BMT, and Moe were all in attendance. Left my house a little early because the roads weren't the greatest... the cleanest road that i drove was just a few tire tracks. We were the first in line ready to open up the place. the snow looked good, for sure. Doug and Jeff were there as well, of course. Conditions were pretty damn good for being PA. The two inches of snow that fell was groomed since it fell early last night and made for a nice smooth ride for a couple of runs before it got all turned up. the first few lift rides up the mt were pretty empty, but you could tell that the crowds were starting to roll in when you needed to thread the needle in the middle of Main and Midway... oh hey, thats me. The nice lifties at Blue were kind enough to clean off most of the chairs so my ass didnt get wet from sitting on 2 inches of snow. how kind. after it got crowded and i had to wait a few minutes in the lift line i decided to head out. it ended up being a pretty good morning session at Blue for only have 3 real trails open. Lazy was being groomed while i was there, but didn't open up b the time that i left. oh well, maybe i'll be up again tomorrow. hopefully the pictures make it a little more interesting. i know i hate reading trip reports without pictures that just talk about what music was being played on the way up the hill. haha. Anybody going to be at Blue tomorrow afternoon around 4?
-
daaaaamn. i've been back there once just to hang out, since i don't ride. crazy back there. there are some crazy videos on that site.
-
KT said he didn't ski well and f'ed up.
-
duh, that obviously means that you need to jump on a dick.
-
sounds good to me.
-
i'll be there for opening, both days.
-
i need to go to Frost this year... i have never been there.
-
if you actually want to ski, then i would go to Blue or Camelback. Blue will have at least Lazy open by the weekend to spread out the crowds, and the two lifts at the bottom of Main. Camelback will probably have a good amount of terrain open but i think it might get a little more crowded there as the morning goes on. If you want to ride park, go to Boulder. I know there will be a decent group of people from here riding Blue for morning sessions this weekend if you are interested.
