ah, another mature response coming from the Bear Creek forum. should have expected that. so its either they close completely or they open for weekdays only. you pick. either way you are going to bitch about it. i would take option one since it at least give you the chance to get up there.

can't you just be greatful that they are staying open longer for you to hike whatever you want during the week? no, of course not. you have to bitch and moan about something that is there to benefit you and way beyond anything they are obligated to do for you.

the picture uploader on this site sucks. use photobucket or upload them to your facebook. both are super easy to use.

since i dont have class on friday, i'm debating going up there or just up to Blue. I'm still not sure....

well since people seem to like the photo reports, here is another: today i woke up and it was raining out so i didn't feel like going, but then i realized that the days left to ski at Blue were limited so i got my ass out of bed and got ready to go. on the way there it stopped raining and then as i was sitting in traffic i thought it started to snow. it didnt actually snow though... there was a truck in front of me that was dropping huge pieces of styrofoam all over and it was breaking apart which made it look like snow. stupid asshole. so i got to Blue around 8:15 and there was nobody there again. definitely not as nice as yesterday, but at least it wasn't raining. still a decent amount of snow on everything. took my first few runs through Sidewinder and then over to Come Around. the jumps are still small. the lips on rails still arent good. i have lost hope. maybe things will be better for the weekend. that would be nice. i took some more runs down burma as well. i'm starting to like that trail even more. it was strange not seeing the Mainstreet or Burma lift running. i forgot tat they closed them the final week and fed everybody to the 6pack. at the end of my session i took a run down Mainstreet and then over to Paradise to finish off a few runs. both were really nice with soft granular snow. pretty much untouched. for those of you who are curious and haven't been to Blue this year, here is the bottom of the new trail which feeds out right at the last straight part on Paradise. it looks like it should be a pretty fun trail. that pretty much sums up my 2 hour morning session. it was decent today. tomorrow i wont be there because its going to be raining and warm. damn. at leat i know they will make it through that with all the snow that they have there. anyone else going up today? if so, have fun in the sugar. haha oh, ps- this is what they do with the cardboard box derby entries instead of recycling them: gotta love Blue!

ah fuck it, i'm going up for two hours. there are only a few days left and i cant waste them sitting around here.

yeah i just woke up and its rain/sleet so i'm not heading up there today. hopefully the weather cooperates tomorrow morning.

i'll be there as well. but only until about 10:30 because i have a meeting at 11:30. blah. at least i'll get two good hours of skiing in. i'll probably see you there because there are only 5 people that are skiing Blue on weekday mornings now.

ah nice pictures Trev! I wish i would have been able to get out this weekend instead of being stuck at the damn hospital for 30 hours. You should bring it back out for closing weekend, as i'm sure it would be a good time... as long as the park is decent and it doesnt rain.

i'm really not a fan of animal cruelty. haha. now because of you, all that horse meat is going to be recalled.

This morning i woke up nice and early so i could head to Blue before my meetings for the afternoon. day 67 for me. pulled in around 8:22 and booted up ready for opening. the sun was already over the mountain so the snow was starting to soften up right from the start. there was still a good breeze to keep the temps down, but i decided to wear my Forman Mills jacket instead because my DNA jacket still smelled like smoke from the bar and it was making me sick. my first few runs were on lazy, switchback, and mainstreet/barney's bumps, where were amazingly good with that softer snow. the park was not the best today, pretty lame actually, but i'm over it. its the end of the year at Blue and it doesnt really seem like they are going to spend time on making things better if they are just going to close in a week. the jump line was good, but the jumps were kinda small. oh well. took a few runs over on Burma Road since i usually dont head over to that side of the mountain.. conditions over there were surprisingly good. i'm so pissed that Blue is closing in a few days, but it was still a good season for PA. they still have a shit-ton of snow and i know they could stay open for another week or so, but they arent going to get the business that will make it worth it. oh well. but seriously... look at the base that they have. not bad at all. thats about it for a report for Blue, i'll be going up tomorrow morning as well, maybe i'll take a few more pics, maybe not. it shouldnt be much different.
