about 3 inches here at school. still snowing.
-
have close to an inch here in Bethlehem. i'm hoping night classes will be cancelled... but i doubt it. for once its actually snowing in PA.
-
this morning was great. nice snow. nice grooming. nice bumps. probably the best day that i have had at blue this year. i recommend going up today if you get the chance, but make sure you get there early so it isnt a shit show when you get there and everything is still relatively good.
-
wow that is terrible.
-
good thing you went this morning because it sucked this afternoon.
-
i'll be up in the morning. this afternoon sucked and it was sooooo sugary.
-
damn. i haven't built a yurt in quite some time. i'll have to check out my blueprints and see what i can do for you.
-
Blue sucks anyway... if you buy me a house up near Sno i'll ski there with ya.
-
hahahaa. you could come live by me, 8 minutes from Blue, out in the country. not in the mighty mighty A.

in your situation, as a parent of a child on a team, no, you dont have the luxury of skiing around the crowds. i'm just putting that out there, that in general, most problems and complaints can be completely forgotten about if people get there at a reasonable time. You should have migrated to Blue, not Montage, because then i would be able to race you and take your skis.

i know. i'm just saying that if you actually get to the mountain at a reasonable time you will see that it has more to offer than when people show up along with the rest of the weekend warriors or highschoolers and slice the shit out of it because they dont know what the hell they are doing. all mountains have different issues, but in Blue's situation, a lot of the problems they have that people complain about (crowds, grooming, park) can be alleviated by getting there at a reasonable hour.

didnt i say EARLY on the weekends? 1pm is not early.
-
its the truth. as long as you are there early on the weekends, or before 3 during the week its going to be good skiing.
-
yeah i could use a new pair of skis.
-
everything looks good there. thats great.
-
they have plenty of snow on sidewinder. they were setting stuff up today.
-
damn i'm jealous.
-
snowing in Bethlehem.
-
it sucks. you will die.
-
no problem. we are bummed. i dont think i'm going to ski very much at Blue the rest of the year after a week like this.

so today was the last day in the Hole. unfortunately, we only got a foot of snow last night. i know, we are still pissed about it. we started off our day the same way again... a $5 breakfast at the Mangy Moose. got in line for the gondola and made our way to the top. about a foot of snow fell and we were pumped once again to see some more of that lovely white stuff. we hit a bunch of places today and saw some crazy things. there was a film crew there filming some dude.. i think it was Rage. i dunno i'm not sure. anyway... he hit the cliff that is the first big one right under the Sublet chair and did some flips off of it. crazy. then we saw a guy drop Alta 0 to his death. he dropped the thing and took it about 40 feet to a huge rock. one ski fell off and he tumbled. i didnt expect him to be moving but he hiked back up and skied away. crazy shit happens when there is snow on the ground. it was snowing most of the day on the top of the mountain and cloudy on the bottom 1/2. dan hit some nice drops today that i have pictures of. some places the snow was so damn deep... mid-thigh thanks to the storms over the last week. i loved every second of it. face shots out the wazoo for the 5th day in a row. this trip is going to be hard to top. here are some photos for your enjoyment... right under my chair is where the guy dropped the cliff. lots of snow on the trees. Dan dropping bombs again. goodbye Jackson Hole. and for jerks like Glenn who are too cool to see my pictures: try this.
