not to mention, we live on the Ice Coast, specifically in PA. its the way it is.

they are blowing in the park right now. today when i was up i checked it out and everything is gone, and everything is flattened. its good that they are going to use the crappy ice/snow that they had as the base and are blowign a ton of new snow ontop of it... 4 more days until it's open!

but its a good way to fine tune your skills and improve. its not for everybody, but if you like it, then do it. if you dont like it, then dont. i think this topic has been discussed too many times lately and its getting repetitive...

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah! http://headlines.accuweather.com/news-stor...ler=0&article=3

i hope there is no table top. that just encourages kids to roll right over the lip. at least with the booters if they try something stupid like they they will fall 6 feet to a flat landing. then they never do it again. thats the whole reason why the park crue is building jumps like that... so they dont get wrecked as easily like the ones from last year
-
yeah he's a good guy and knows what he is doing... especially when it comes to the park.

i was hating 100% on the coaches. some of the coaches at Blue need to have respect for other people on the mountain and not think that it is only theirs and they can do waht they want. talking behind people's backs and telling your kids to go mess up the park on purpose is a little immature, arrogant, and rediculous in my opinion... and i think its time for them to grow up and realize that the race team is not the only thing going on at Blue anymore.

can we try to keep on topic here and talk about Freeriders instead of who hates who? thanks. YAY FOR FREERIDERS! The kids are learning quickly. its awesome
-
its the first year for the program.. so there obviously arent products YET. why does everybody compare it to the success of the race program? i highly doubt that they started with 70 kids.
-
the only problem with the rails/boxes that Bear has is that they are too unique. try switching up on the u-box... not gonna happen. and i'm gonna disagree with the better beginner park too. but the jumps at Bear are better... right now... even though everybody that i talked to that skied bear in the last couple of days said that it was beat. i hope that both parks keep pushing each other to go bigger and better
-
get a pass to Blue next year. better park than CB and jsut as good/if not better than Bear's. and also pletny of oportunities for week night gates.
-
and skier150 knows what he is doing. dont hate. dont turn into those racer guys that hate on the freeriders. like papasteeze said, some people are good teachers and might no be the best "doers". Chris is better than 90% of the people in the terrain park and knows what the hell he is doing. not to mention he is one of the most respectable instructors at Blue for dedicating his entire summer to getting this program started.

some areas are fine and have plenty of snow and someo ther areas that get sun all day and lots of traffic are kinda sketchy. the park is closed all week and they are going to be blowing in it non-stop when temps allow for it... http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p...t=0entry60103

i think for size.. you would be safe getting skis in the low 170cm range. i dont know what kind of skis you are looking for though when it comes to all around ability of the ski
-
forgot to mention that they have the 25ft flat rail sitting at the bottom of the snowboard school... looks kinda sketchily built, but we'll see. I think Sabia built it from what i hear. and he usually knows what he is doing.
-
but since you arent, i would say no bigger than mid 170s. get something bigger than what you have now. and if you want to use them to ski more than just the park, get something longer
-
I'm in love with my Foils. not only are they amazing in the park, they are a great all-mountain ski (when they have edges). i think i'm going to get another pair next year and save them for real skiing and use the ones i ahve now as my beater pair
-
whats the point? kinda like snowblades... whats the point. althought i'm sure they arent going to be as lame and looked down upon like snowblades are.
-
good choice. the park has been lacking the past few days because of melting snow... but from the sounds of it, it will be better than before after this week. i cant wait.
-
actually... competitions cost money too. USASA costs over $50 to join and then a cost for each individual event. Going to a different comp every week at different mountains and getting lift tickets at each place adds up too. its not just the racers that have to pay to enter stuff... but i see what you meant. you have to pay to ski gates. there arent gates set-up all over Blue like there are jumps and rails for us.
-
yeah it was great that they were using the features the incorrect way and not the way that they are intended to be used.

From what i have heard... Blue will be closing Sidewinder all this week so that they can replenish their base. Park crue said that they are taking everything out, leveling the jumps, and starting from scratch. Dear John, Dennis Krell Snr. forwarded me the email you sent him on 2/3/06. You will be glad to know that some of the concerns you voiced are similar to our way of thinking here at Blue. The weather this year has been uncooperative, but it seems that winter is coming back finally. We will be rebuilding Sidewinder Park this week, and we are going to change it around,so that all you shreds can get excited again. As you probably know, I am head of Park maintenance [Park Crue], and together with Danny, we will reconstruct the parks to a high standard. During the course of this year,we will have some more new rails as well. We here at Blue are very lucky that our Mountain Manager, [Dennis] is supporting us 100% and as such our intention is to have the Poconos premium park here at Blue. Thanks for your input. Regards, Keith Esmail. its good knowing that they actually listen to what people say this year instead of last year how the only thing they would say is, "thanks for the email". It will be nice having the "Poconos' Premium Park" at Blue.

R.I.P. Lange Boots. Your Comp 100 boots have treated me well for the last 2 years. I don't look forward to buying the bucket-like boots that you will now be making, and probably wont. I'm riding these babies out forever.

i'm not really sure, they all look the same to me in their jackets.
