cheaper than $100??? thats pushing it. if he isnt willign to budge with pricing he might as well go to Wal-mart and buy the plastic shit. but, i'll keep my eyes out for anything rediculously cheap.

Blue's is lame... its like 1800 feet long... and timberline is closed anyway according to the site.
-
a month and a half i think... i'm pretty sure there are still 5 more weeks of qualifying
-
no you are done until the finals.... good job.
-
huh? i dont get it.

some mountains have programs that teach kids how to ski/board in the park. it would be great for him to get into something like that and learn from the people who are certified. if you dont have the money for that.. the best way to learn is by watching and trying. watching other people is a great way to learn. i watch ski movies every day durring ski season and by looking at what other people to and how they do it, i learn the right way and it helps me improve. when it comes to actually trying the features, the best thing you could do is commit to it. if you are going to hit a jump, dont go up to it and bail off the side. you will never learn that way. go at it and hit it. if you fall get up and do it again. when it comes to rails, just try to 50/50 it instead of something technical like a boardslide. most people in the park do 50/50s anyway, its a great way to ge the feel of a rail for beginners. and instead of hitting a rail, go for a bow. something simple. while you are waiting to hit the features you can ask the people around, who are also waiting, waht the best way to approach it would be. if you ask, dont get discouraged if somebody gives you lip, those are the people that probably dont know what they are doing anyway because i know i would rather help somebody learn instead of have them cut me off... most people in the park are nice though. remember to call out when you are going to hit something, wait until the landing in clear, and don't try anything that is way out of your league. and if you are looking for a program... Blue Mountain has a freeride program for skiers and one for boarders. im not sure what other mountains have them so ask around.

don't say "booter".... swdorsey might yell at you because "there arent any booters in PA"....
-
about the mountain... that is probably the worst rail jam thing i hav ever seen. the rails were 8 inches wide and the boxes were 3 feet wide, and super sketched out setups. about the video... e.d.i.t. don't take offense to anybody... we are just being honest
-
except today conditions were great all day... even when i left around 6
-
no rain tonight... they changed it... and the low is supposed to be 26 so it would be nice if they would blow... its really windy though.
-
thats a good idea... but its supposed to be a "beginner park" so they try to get all different sorts of features in it. i would rather have a rail garden though, but that just means that there will be more people on sidewinder looking for jumps
-
look for the kids wwearing Darkside Freeride team (its the freestyle ski program)... i'll be with them helping them film and whatnot.
-
not that it really matters too much because 3rd doesnt move on to finals anyway... but still, that sucks for whoever would have gotten third.
-
if there were a good pipe somewhere close, that would be amazing. i used to hate pipe until i went up north and actually skied a real once because all of the ones here suck.
-
i agree with some of that... most of it actually. the reason why the lower park is so beat to shit is because of the mass numbers of people that go through it... and you clearly stated why this happens. i like the thoughts you put forward into improving the park and i agree with most of it... although the slopestyle set-up of sidewinder is nice because you dont have to stop after every hit to decide what you want to hit next... you just keep on going.
-
go thomas! and i pray to God that the station wagon has a woodkit on it like Thomas' skis. haha. maybe by next week i will learn to spin out of rails... or something like that.
-
thanks.... i was there tonight. haha. a little late
-
i hear ya... thats why i'm just going up by myself in the AM and when other people feel like getting there they can just meet me.
-
i say we just keep working on the park in your backyard Chris and keep it to a minimum... could you imagine how packed that place could get if it actually went down? anyway.. packed or not, i would be there because that would be crazy... and any help you need with that Chris... just ask. i support backyard parks. hell, i'll buy a season pass to your backyard.
-
i think i'm going up first thing tomorrow morning... i dont care if its firm.. at least i will be able to ski in peace for a bit.
-
actually... people shouldnt be sitting on their asses in the entrance to the park to begin with. that is the part that is "against the rules".... not CALLING your drop in.
-
now you know how i feel every night. thank god i went to Boulder tonight for the comp where you have the entire park to yourself... ah. i loved it.
-
how would you implement a "park-only" pass if the lifts have access to the whol mountain? you would have to have a ticket check at the top of every slope.
-
wouldnt common sense tell people not to do that shit? of course. but they still do. now for the people that do have common sense when it comes to riding the park... they shouldnt have to suffer because people are getting in their way on the features. i understand that there is the same problem on other trails... why do you think the racers close off the trail to practice? so idiots dont get in their way. i dont see people complaining as much about them. while they are practicing over on razors edge i want to practice in the park... and why cant i have ideal conditions like they do? there are so many different points that you can make. making one trail out of 30 a pass only trail shouldnt affect anything. there is no reason to use sidewinder as a trail to carve down since there are 30 others accross the mountain. and if people want to use the park THAT bad... then they can use the lower park to ride over the lips of jumps and rails and sit on the landings there. but for people who care an actually want to progress in the freestlye area, there shouldnt be uncontrollable idiots that hold them back.

what is the set-up going to be like tonight for the z-games??? anybody know?
