2/4/18..fun morning!!! snowing.
GrilledSteezeSandwich replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
I'm glad to see that Phillycore is stoked on skiing again. -
I remember staying somewhere with my dad in Sugarbush that didn't have breakfast until 7..and was a full breakfast like pancakes and sausage and my dad eats so slow and didn't even have his ski pants on yet and it was killing me. He's one of those people who likes to sit for a few more minutes after eating. I vowed that when I was a grown up I would never put up with that bullshit well at least until Nastar Glenn couldn't get in his damn skis because they were caked with snow lol..

Actually now that I think about it Salty isn't a powder hound like the majority of us so probably doesn't matter to him if he gets sloppy seconds. Sloppy seconds for me is rage worthy. Just in my opinion to stay 3 miles from the mountain and not get first chair is sad.

Very rare for hotels to have the free breakfast that early. The hotel in JH has breakfast starting at 7 but really they let people in earlier.

That's on weekends the 730am opening for 4 runner...free breakfast isn't worth missing untracked. You think Jackson hole gets tracked out fast you should see stowe. The locals get every nook and cranny fast.

Wow I would have bought breakfast somewhere else and waited in line at the mountain by 730. That late of a breakfast is unacceptable

I saw the website where you are staying. Looks like a convenient location. Is there free breakfast. Also cool you were in Plattsburgh. The two times I went to whiteface with my high school ski club we stayed at the comfort inn in Plattsburgh

No I didn't ride the train. I visited Durango and played golf there..went to a cowboy bar as well. It's one of those places that's expensive to live and pay is bad. My flight to Durango was actually diverted to Farmington New Mexico.

Im sure New Mexico will still have some good winters but almost everywhere in the Rockies has been getting progressively warmer and dryer. I actually almost moved to Durango years ago.

Theres a cafeteria at the top of the quad in a building known as the octogon. That's a good place to stop and eat especially if you don't want to have to lock up your skis.

Stowe is a hell of a lot nicer than Killington and not a clusterfuck of trail merges.

I think they groom most of the blue runs at Stowe. Try ridgeview to sunrise to lord to start that's easy. Doodle around on toll road..north slope is a good Blue as are gondolier and perry Merrill also be sure to ski spruce mountain as well. Main Street, sterling and whirlaway are all good.

You might want to talk to NMSki as he's from New Mexico. They don't get much snow out there anymore.

Yeah that Burger King supper will taste better if you skip lunch. I know ther are all you can eat Chinese buffets in both Stowe an Burlington. Arrive before lunch ends and stay for dinner..profit!! Get your own drink refills to avoid giving tip..remember to give just the tip to avoid little Saltys
