  1. Yeah anything before march is a good start to the season at Bear Creek!!
  2. Nice report what are crowds like??
  3. Anybody see Marty around one of the bump guys? He was at Blue almost everyday the last few seasons and I haven't seen him out there yet this season. Maybe he's just really stealth like ZZSlope
  4. Hey All I'm back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. After a exciting night of karaoke with singing, dancing, drinking and having a chick who's step dad is two years older than me saying she loved me I was bright eyed and bushy tailed when my alarm went off at 545AM. Went back to sleep for 17 minutes and then got up..stopped at Mickey Dees drive thru on the way up for sausage biscuit, hash brown and apple juice..$4.60 but I earned 4.6 United airlines points Arrived in lower lot at 7:25AM in the house were Slim, Indiggio, JFBBDan, PARidge, TP4, Nastar Glenn and the Asian invasian. Temperature was around 8 degrees at boot up thirty and there was also a moderate wind from northwest making it feel below zero...first civilian chair and I began with challenge which was nice cord and sidewinder which was good as well followed by a sidewinder repeat Main Street was the run of the day super silky up top and pleasent on the bottom..lazy mile also had super nice snow Paradise was nice but a lot of people on it and Razors edge was firm not terrible will be prime by the weekend. They are still blowing snow on Switchback, Central Park, nightmare to dream weaver and Widowmaker was apparently open today according to TP4. I skied until 10:05am got in exactly 14 runs..toes were a little frozen..and had beer and JFDans famous holiday cookies in the lot. Two different kinds..the temperature was still in the low teens when I left at 1045am and there was a massive flow on NY and NJ peeps entering the lower lot. I stopped off at work on the way back to take in the mail and put together checks for a deposit and now making some familiar microwave spaghetti and meat sauce and adding a few chunks of salami for stoke.. ill be back the next four mornings same time same place..JADIP
  5. I can't do that shit especially on the east coast. It was 6 at Blue today and I thought my toes were going to fall off At smuggs you are turning a lot more especially when you are following Moe Ghoul through Doc demseys glades and the enchanted Bavarian Forrest.
  6. Or can find a drying machine...if it's very wet snow falling it's a soaked..had a day at Jackson hole with Johnny style that was like that. Next day gloves were still soaked and was wadding up toilet paper inside gloves to try and dry them out. Crazy in almost 100 lifetime days skiing Jackson hole was the only soaker. In 100 days skiing Blue mountain there's several days where I get wet..sometimes from snowguns.
  7. I like Stowe's trees better because most aren't on the map. At jay peak they have dozens of glades that are marked which fills them up with people. Jay peak does receive more snowfall and has poutine and 24 ounce Labatt bleu in the cafeteria. Stowe has jake burton and a couple of the younger Von Trapps...maybe they are in a dead heat..
  8. And New Year's Day is never crowded and they open at 8am. Crowds are similar to a mid winter friday.
  9. That's how it is today. NYD today stands for New York Dorks.
  10. Salty you Never said what you had for supper.
  11. And not to be technical but that sounds like New Years weekend to me. Dress like an astronaut.
  12. No I get wet...its just water and it's not like you're in the wilderness. Matt edge was ripping and grinding with GSSucks and Justo the other day in the rain and he said the snow was badass!!!
  13. Stowe is the best place to ski in Vermont.
  14. Can I just add you to my family plan...sheesh
  15. Nice report. What kind of phone do you have??
  16. The owner of my local bar has one of those machines and he said he can cook a steak in it and doesn't even need a knife.
  17. I skied 61 days in a row at Blue in 2007 and I was definitely sore some of those days. That's also back when I put in much longer sessions. I ski hard out west open to ???? Usually quit after a late lunch one day last year did more skiing after lunch till closing bell.
  18. I skied 61 days in a row at Blue in 2007 and I was definitely sore some of those days. That's also back when I put in much longer sessions.
  19. My favorite weather to ski in is this order.. #1. Rider of the storm day.. #2. Bluebird pow day..right after a storm but some stuff left natural #3. True spring day 55+ degrees..mashed potatoes soft bumps #4. Mad goldilocks..that perfect 35 degrees where it's just so comfortable out and the snow is soft and fast. #5 Day like today..cold and good snow #6 Skiing in the rain #7 After a freeze when the snow is bulletproof.. #8 skiing in sleet and freezing rain. #9 not skiing
  20. I had to bring my beer back inside. I'm nervous it will freeze up overnight. This is the longest lasting 12 pack ever and I even gave matt edge and Root pocket beers.
  21. Yeah sidewinder is kind of narrow..I never skied razors as I knew it would be rough as it just opened..
