Was up at the Kalahari resort earlier setting up our booth. Wow just wow otherwise looks like a big casino hotel from outside. I've never been on 380 or that part of the poconos before.

I just booked a hotel room at Hampton inn and they said $129 per night and I said do you have anything better and they said how about $116...I wonder if any ski areas let you haggle. -

I probably spend almost as much money in the summer because I have more idle time so go out to bars and restaurants more. Got a wedding to go to this weekend for instance. That's a couple hundred right there for gift and hotel room. -

Blue pass $670 I think, Jackson hole 7 day with discount was somewhere around $550..In Colorado spent around $450 for 6 days so total was $1670 for 58 days equals $28 per day. That's freaking cheap. I rarely go a day without spending at least $28 on lyfe. -
It really did the day after I got back from Colorado.

My goggle tan got me laid.

No sunscreen??

Nice write up. I don't think I would have the energy to hike after skiing.
-
How did you get tickets for $47??? How much were rentals? You eat anywhere good?
-
What did you do after skiing Sunday??? You have a favorite run or area at Abasin? Did you ski any of the terrain under the Pali lift or the east wall? I'm sure the slush was fine on the performance rentals.

Hey SweetPlanks...PASR stays somewhat active during the summer. Not 100-200 posts per day like during ski season but only. Few days usually go by with no posts and by August people start talking about gear and trips for the next ski season. Plus people do cool things over the summer and try new beers that they feel like posting about. It's cool that you're a teacher. One of my good friends teaches in philly and she's super into it. It's got it's pros and cons vs a job where you are only around adults. I guess a cool thing about being a teacher is that you're the boss. No doubt the smart kids in the next generation are even smarter. Did you know right now there are 6 generations living in America. First and oldest are the greatest generation which were born before the Great Depression. There aren't many of them left so when I see videos of 90 year old skiing it's cool and a few of them even have iPhones. I know they're in my office every week. Then you have the silent generation born between the Great Depression and the end of world war 2...1929-1945..Most of them are grandparents to older kids and young adults and due to a robust economy doing their prime earning years and conservative spending habits they're the wealthiest generation in America. The kids of the greatest generation and the older silent generation are the baby boomers..they were the largest generation before the millenials as birth rates skyrocketed after world war 2. They're the first generation to indulge in mass consumerism as they were the first generation to grow up with TV sets. Baby boomers now range in age from the middle aged to senior citizens and many face the stress of having to help out elderly parents and adult children at the same time along with grandchildren. They're retiring a lot later than their parents in general. Then you have generation X, which is a smaller generation as birth rates dropped in the 60s and 70s. They are the children of older baby boomers and the silent generation. They are the first generation to see their parents divorce enmasse as the divorce rate doubled during the 70s and 80s. Many in generation X have hit a glass ceiling in the workplace as their baby boomer bosses aren't retiring. Then you have the millenials which is the largest generation in America. They are also the poorest generation in America due to the decline in blue collar jobs and stagnent wages in other occupations. The 18-34 demographic was once the coveted demographic of advertisers but due to ballooning student loan debt and a lackluster job market. Now millenials are starting to have kids as well and those kids and the younger gen X kids are generation Z or the igeneration. School aged kids today only know technology. The iPhone came out when a high school student was 5 years old. 77% of 12-17 year olds own a cell phone today. When I was that age was like 2% only the kids on Beverly Hills 90210.

Donchez was my AP American government teacher in 12th grade. I know like half the people running for mayor of Allentown. One of them comments on my ski pictures and another was my high school principal and sometimes buys me drinks when I see him out.

I know a girl who works in the Just Born store there. You know the Sands is gonna become an MGM casino soon...and the sale is gonna give the city of Bethlehem and the school district more Johnny Cash..
