New "No Outside Food" in the lodges policy
GrilledSteezeSandwich replied to enjoralas's topic in Blue Mountain
Where else are you allowed to bring outside food? Can you bring outside food into a movie theater? A good chunk of ski resorts revenue is in food and beverages so by discouraging people from packing their own food it in theory promotes more people buying food. Blue is transitioning from a ski area to ski resort and most resorts you can't bring in your own food. For now they allow tailgating and that's a good thing. -

The security guards look a little wet behind the ears. As a silent protest I chewed gum inside the lodge that I brought from home today..slacktivism at its finest. -

After a little thought I agree with their policy. Unbeknownst to me..some sit inside the lodge and take up tables with beer brought from home. Where else can you do that? This isn't a private club it's a business. The great thing is there's like fifty spots to get food cheap on the way up and you can have snacks on the lift or at your car and on the way home again those fifty spots again. And if you already went all in on a lift ticket and day out with your family then buy some hot chocolate and pierogies and $9 chicken fingers shaped like North Carolina. -

Hey All, I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. Arrived at the lower lot around 7:22am and in the house were Indiggio, JFDan, Toast, Atomic Jeff, Justo, KevinThomas, Rose, slim, Gary, Johnny Law, TP4, VTMark and Matt Edge. Initially the temperature was upper 40s on the upper mountain and mid 30s at the base. challenge was nice soft cord, Razors was rough and then closed for the race team. On Nightmare to Dreamweaver I took my first fall of the season and ended up going ass over tea kettle on the sharp left turn near the top,,the rest of the run my ski felt weird and turned out I bent my break and then bent it back. A few runs later I jones up with VTMark and TP4 and we hit nearly all the runs including the bumps which were nice. Challenge got extra rowdy and a little spicy and lower Main Street were some large push piles. Some beers were had in the lower lot then went to point Phillips hotel for lunch. Was a nice weekend of winter and spring skiing but let's hope for some cold air!!!

GrilledSteezeSandwich replied to AtomicSkier's topic in Blue Mountain
They'll be able to last two warm and rainy weeks...if the third week (first week of March) is warm and rainy that will be their death blow so just has to turn back to seasonal before the end of three weeks. Anyway don't be a stoke stomper. -

There's a thread here about it. http://www.epicski.com/t/127260/brown-bags-not-welcome In high school I used to pack a lunch sometimes but would usually buy a soda and sometimes pierogies. -

Hey All, I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. In the house were Toast, Johnny Law, GSSucks, Rodney, Gary, Ty, Root, JFBBDan, Atomic Jeff, Indiggio and many others. A lot of people were lined up for first six pack at 8:04am including people who skied down from the top. First run on challenge was nice..winter like packed powder. Nightmare Dreamweaver was sweet cord as well. I missed Razors before the race team got it but heard it was stellar with some fresh manmade. Scored two uncrowded runs on Main Street and the top was 9 out of 10 good and bottom smooth but not as good. Switchback was ok but hasn't had much love from the snowmakers lately. Liftlines never got to out of hand and we did one on the quad when the line got semi long for the six pack for a second then the line got short again. Mainly kept lapping nightmare to Dreamweaver which was fast winter like conditions. Because temperatures began around 25-30 degrees the snow stayed nice for awhile. I skied one run on lazy mile and it was crazy mile. Enjoyed some beers in the lower lot and I think I got some color. Then went with Johnny law to the BMDI for breakfast food at around 1pm. Now full and caffeined up. Was a great morning and tomorrow should be more of the same. JADIP When I arrived back in the A the temperature was around 64 degrees.
