Lots of subpar skiers slipping their way down as well. It's their right to ski or ride how they like. Everybody starts as a beginner. JF runs also only last about 23.5 seconds.

You could take a bus to targhee. Targhee is like okemo compared to Jackson hole though and often foggy. The one time I skied Snow King was the day JH shut down all their lifts at 11am and I took a bus there after lunch and drinks and bought a 2 hour ticket. Steep mountain but only a few ways down. I would want to build a lodge and parking lot on flat ground. I don't know much about construction but it seems like a lot less earth to move. I'm happy for snowboarders cause they gave us powder skis. Also if I developed a ski area I would surely have a runout at the base if feasible. Not only to pad the vertical stat a little but to make the runs last a little longer and give people a little breather at the end of the run. What's the point of getting to 40 or 50mph by the bottom of falls or Dreamweaver just to have to throw me sideways and stop...seems like a waste of energy to me... I remember the last year Blue mountain didn't allow snowboarding 1995-96. I was in the summit lodge and saw a family of 5 with 4 skiers and one snowboarder leaving first thing. It was because Blue didn't allow snowboarding..(they were one of the final holdouts) so the family of 5 was likely headed for camelback or Jack Frost. Hundreds of dollars of lost revenue and I'm sure that sort of thing happened daily. It's the same sport we just use different tools.

I see grand targhee and snow King getting a huge boost in business. Wouldn't those giant generators have to be delivered from somewhere and installed...I don't know how they could run several upper mountain lifts and lodges on those.

JFDan Brighton didn't report 7" overnight they reported 7" in the last 24 hours and 0 overnight. It seemed fishy so I checked earlier. Actually 9" 24 hours but 0 inches overnight. Sorry for being so detail oriented but you have to be in the tombstone business.

Yup 17 poles out...sucks. I saw there as a microburst with gusts as high as 150mph. And essentially everybody staying in Teton village is with power. It's all good I'm sure the 49er, Elk country inn, cowboy village and the Antler inn in town have plenty of rooms for all the people staying at the Four Seasons who need to rebook lol.

Nice 830am opening on weekdays. I'll likely be there way early will leave Allentown around 645-7...fortunately or unfortunately the drive up will likely be the peak of the storm.

Nice only $73 for tickets there. Discount lift tickets is something you'll never see in Jackson hole...they don't exist.

residents of Paris speak better English than residents of Quebec City. In Montreal a lot more English is spoken.

Le Massif looks like a cool area to check out. If it wasn't ten hours away I'd probably visit

Plus the learning area, tubing, a full service lodge and a uber convenient parking lot.

7 years ago today I was skiing the cornice at Blue.

No this storm is a fast mover. Most will fall from midnight to noon. 340pm into philly doesn't seem like a problem. Right now almost 50 degrees out and the densest fog ever. This snow can't come quick enough. I might even look at the bear creek cams for shits and giggles. I'm actually most concerned that karaoke might be cancelled tonight as the DJ lives up in Walnutport and is a pussy about driving in snow. I'll still be accepting suggestions over on Facebook.
