January 25, 2017 Day 1 of 7. Hey All, Finished with a fun first day at Jackson Hole. The bus to the mountain was packed with French people. We secured our 7 day lift tickets for $530 thanks to the 40% season pass discount and managed first civilian gondola with a local who skis everyday who we've seen the last few years. He impressively has over 1500 lifetime days here. First run was a groomed amphitheater to Thunder chair in flat light. Then Grand woods which were playful and had some pockets of leftover fresh. Up sublette and down 10 sleep bowl to the cirque which for pretty tracked out yesterday but still decent. The mountain was super empty today and no liftlines at all. Up Thunder and down our secret pow stash found a few fresh leftovers..then up Thunder again and down Laramie bowl which was groomed on the left side. Up Sublette and hit up Bivoac woods which was my first tree skiing of the season and nice to know I've still got it..then up Sublette again and over to the Hobacks..the entrance to the hobacks was slightly sketch but farther down was super good with about 700 vert of barely tracked powder in the middle section. There were hoots and hollers..wahahahaha. Then up Union pass lift over to Teeeinot to apres vous down a shitty grooomer to Teton lift then into the Wahaahahaoey glades which were pretty nice and down to Casper chair. Up Casper and over to Thunder..final run consisted of thunder woods, riverton bowl and a lower face. Was pretty cold today with temperatures in the single digits but I got warm on any non groomer runs. Looks like sunshine tomorrow and TP4 will be here in a few days. Didn't see Harrison fords plane at the airport. We did last year. Conditions are good. Me and Jeff are picky so not that into sloppy seconds but better than blue is right now and probably the best skiing we'll have all week.

I like how my cab driver hated that my big bag was so light...about 30 pounds. Little did he know that's like 2/3 of all my possessions in that bag and that I need to set aside room for cowboy boots.

That can also be said for Laquisha earlier at the Philly airport..I honestly think it's so people spend tree fiddy on a 16 ounce bottle of water. TP4 you ready for some JH fun??? It's deep out here!!!

Just had a late lunch at the snake River brewery. As Moe Ghoul predicted got jack and Coke and spicy party mix. Woooo How the fuck is it only 2:48pm oh yeah I've been up for almost 15 hours already wooo.

I don't think so...you can always pack a lighter in your checked baggage or buy one for $2 here.

Made it from plane to hotel room in like 45 minutes..was greeted with a mimosa by chamber of commerce volunteers in baggage claim..had bags in five minutes and $35 taxi to the 49er. In room now gonna hit up the brewery..Atomic Jeff was lucky enough to be upgraded to first so had a second breakfast and I had a cookie on plane and am hungry and thirsty. JADIP. A lot of snow in town don't thing there's been this much since 2012. I got a few pictures upon landing.

Landed. I think this is the earliest arrival at 11:16am mountain time. Some philly people fly out of Baltimore.

TP4 I know LAX has an open air smoking lounge in the airport. How do smokers who smoke every half hour survive a flight. Maybe chewing tobacco and nicotine gum.

Not always more expensive at ABE..it's the convenience of it that's better. You can likely have a friend or family member drop you off at ABE or uber or taxi there where Newark and Philly looking at $100 for a week of parking. Pros and cons. Haven't had to buy food at Chicago airport. Had sausage and eggs in the lounge..looks like 2 hours and 42 minutes of air time. 16 degrees and light snow for JH.

11" new at JHMR in the last 24 hours and 4" expected in next 24 hours. Should be alright tomorrow. 340" so far this season.

For what it's worth ABE airport is a super nice and convenient airport but their flights are often cancelled and delayed. For instance the ABE to OHare 6am flight this morning was delayed 2.5 hours. If we would have taken that plane we would have missed the connection in Chicago and then would have had to fly to Denver and then JH Not an airport skiers would go through. Maybe if starting in Allentown. Toast mentioned direct flights. I refuse to connect if there are direct flights available so when going to Denver will always fly direct same with Vegas.

Philadelphia airport is just a nicer airport...cheaper parking..shorter security lines..friendlier employees and easier access. Denver is a super nice airport.

Everybody at the Chicago airport is wondering why I'm shaking my head. A man teaching a woman's clinic wow just wow.
