  1. I did three loads of laundry the other day..even did sheets and comforter...wooo. You're handy..
  2. Toast is the most grumpy out of everybody after a ski trip. Thinking about taking off tomorrow so I can sleep in after karaoke and then enjoy the warmest day of the season. Chance of rain but high of 57 in the A. Weather looks pretty nice today for TP4. Sunny and in the 40s. Got to much going on at work today.
  3. Wow I went to high school with one kid that played football, baseball and basketball and was varsity on all three teams as a freshman. My top sports moment in high school was either playing hackey sack like a boss with the goth kids and bandos or when I once caught a fly ball in gym class and my gym teacher made fun of me. There was one kid I knew in high school who was a grade older and he would come back to school just for gym class. I've thought about coming back to William Allen high school on chicken turnover day but it would prob turn into 21 jump street type shit and I'd end up some girls prom date.
  4. I couldn't stand organized activities as a kid. I don't know if you had to go to camp but I did. It's like fuck schools out for summer so instead of getting up early to go to school everyday it's get up early to go to camp everyday SMHerman. My mom sometimes kicked me and my sister out of the house and wouldn't let us come back till dinner. I'd knock on neighbor kids doors and see if they wanted to play.
  5. What could you possibly have to do up there???
  6. Time to start planning your spring break trip. YOLO
  7. Moe Ghoul what skis have you been skiing on these days?? How are the woods holding up?
  8. Not gonna change to freezing rain at blue till the evening then plain rain later tonight.
  9. Yeah rural PA people don't ski as much as people from the big cities and the election hasn't affected how trump supporters or non trump supporters have spent money it's affected everybody due to uncertainty in the economy. New car sales were also down significantly in December of 2016. The fact that I work in a so called recession proof industry yet we are down and all our suppliers are down just shows people are spending less money. They're smart because up until a few years ago the average American spent more than they made. At least people are starting to save money.
  10. I don't think people are afraid to spend money now I know they are. Consumer spending is down since the election. I see it in my business, my friends see it in their businesses, heck even the local bars have been less crowded but that could be the cold. I spoke with an instructor at Blue Sunday and he said that on Saturday they barely have any lessons and sent instructors home early and that during Xmas week they only gave a handful of lessons. I'm going to Jackson hole in 2 weeks, I wonder if it will be less crowded as well. I sort of doubt it since they've received 22 feet of snow already and are offering 40% off lift tickets to season pass holders from other mountains. I'm 37 and most of the people I grew up skiing with in middle school and high school ski clubs no longer ski anymore. Many of them graduated from college in debt, got married, had kids and their interests changed. They still spend major loot going to Disney world and eagles games but once you leave the sport of skiing it's hard to come back due to all the equipment needed. I saw one guy I graduated from high school with at the bar recently and asked if he still skied and he said his ski boot cracked and he didn't want to spend the $$$ to replace them. I try to just worry about myself but I wanna see local ski areas do well. Very true.
  11. Only supposed to be 54 Thursday in Allentown and only a chance of rain. Could be nice spring conditions. Then back to icy death for the weekend.
  12. Lift lines haven't been an issue at Blue so far this season. I truly believe that reduced consumer spending since the election has been hurting them. The runs have been plenty crowded though as they still don't have 4 major runs open. Definitely gonna be sugar and ice this weekend anyway you slice it or dice it.
  13. Ski2Live have you ever arrived at blue for opening? 7 run per hour pace first two hours. Montage has a geographic disadvantage. It's farther from Philly, NY and NJ than the pocono areas and the local population is pretty poor. I don't think they turn a profit from skiing. Remember all the ownership changes in the past decade. I remember hearing about employees paychecks bouncing back in the day. I have heard they do really well with their summer concert festivals. I have no idea how their waterpark does.
  14. 600ish
  15. My helmet is older than some of the middle schoolers at Blue Thursday night..funny but true.
  16. Nice pictures!!! Any crowds? Looks empty from pictures. This is a pretty slow week at ski resorts.
  17. It's catching on amoung the community.
  18. Well it's known as a Barbs Bush amoung the PASRs
  19. I know that montage is less crowded than elk on a holiday.
  20. Nope but I hope blue starts getting more business or Barbs Bush won't open for another year. That's the new trail. I heard they barely gave any lessons Xmas week and we're sending instructors home early on Saturday.
  21. My last da Kine gloves last me like 7-8 years. Before that I had Swanys which are crap.
  22. PASRs seem to like Hestra gloves..cost $100-150 but last many years. I've always used Da Kine gloves which are more like $75. I'll won't do mittens..not as good grip
  23. Moe Ghoul how cold was it this morning at Smuggs? Temepratures in PA were very vernontlike today. Vermont weather without the drive
  24. Thanks for the bump Moe Ghoul only 16 days till Jackson hole. 22 feet so far this season and a couple more forecast for this week. TP4 will be in the house maybe my Montana friend Tom and Doobie Don.
  25. Hey All, I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 730am and it was 13 degrees with moderate winds. The snow guns were blasting on nightmare-Dreamweaver, razors edge, switchback, sidewinder and random areas. In the house were Johnny Law, VTMark, TP4, NMSki, Indiggio, Root, GSSucks, Matt Edge, JFBB Dan, Tarponhead, ZZSlope and many more. First run on challenge was super good. Nice soft packed powder but unfortunately it was closed for the race team by 8:11am. Main Street was nice and skied that many times. Paradise was alright but little slow and contested near the last left hander. Lazy mile also had nice soft powder. I didn't ski the bumps but from what I heard they were scratchy but still fun In the lot had some beers was actually colder in the hill then in the lot and I brought some WaWa soft pretzels which were kept in a cooler to keep from freezing solid. Yeah the winds got stronger and the sun came out. Our friend Ally who's a ski instructor chit chatted with us for awhile and provided some parking lot laughs and I stuck around till a little after 12...now back in the A and already up into the mid 20s but I believe it will be single number temperatures tonight so the good snowmaking will continue. Maybe I'll be back tomorrow night. Pretty fun day today.
