  1. Thanks I missed that. When the Guinness book of world records is in town Friday for the worlds largest lesson attempt maybe they will recognize some of blues 39 runs
  2. Hey all, I'm back from another fun session at blue mountain the true mountain. I left the A at 650am and the Whitehall McDonald's was closed so stopped at WaWa for an apple juice and bacon egg and steeze croissant. Ended up pulling into lower lot around 725am and it was 36 degrees out with moderate winds. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Ryan, TP4, JFBB Dan, Marty, Gary, Gary, Indiggio and many more. Indiggio won the Jerry of the Day award by trying to be the 7th person on the first chair. It would have worked due to his svelte build. Initially challenge was pretty nice but it got cookied and chopped up fast. Lazy mile was pretty please by as was upper Main Street. Paradise was decent as well and the resounding theme was it wasn't that busy which made for a solid 7 laps the first hour which is the new benchmark. Was 8 runs an hour when the quad went at full speed or if razors is open. Still 7 is awesome that means the lift isn't stopping. Skied one run Tuts lane to connector to come around to pioneer pass to Burma to shuttle to home stretch. Wow just wow so many trails on one run has me SMH shaking my Herman. The sun was out and illuminated the runs nicely and some parking lot beers and snacks were had..has been a nice past couple days at blue the true and after a few mild and wet days looks like back to winter temperatures and snowmaking. Razors is about halfway to being ready to open and then nightmare Dreamweaver, switchback and sidewinder will open. I should prob be back out Tuesday night...happy new year everybody!!!
  3. I'll have to check the weather sites just on way home from blue now and warm Out.
  4. Way to get after it Moe Ghoul...and you are straight killing it in days skied.
  5. Monday won't be crowded cause of the rain. I'd go New Year's Day instead for the nice weather and light crowds.
  6. One thing about skiing is you don't lose it. It's like riding a bike.
  7. Shadows you would have liked Challenge and Come Around Park Indiggio and Tarponhead also in the house. So many PASRs today for sure and 7 laps an hour JADIP Thanks you doing anything for New Years? Back when I had a girlfriend I would go to fancy $75 per person four course dinners and shot I ain't hating I enjoy that but prob just get pizza maybe ceaser salad and get ready for another ski day maybe even get chicken on salad cause YOLO and chicken is awesome boom.
  8. Gonna check out the link.
  9. And Ridgrracer and daughter were in the house. Was fun skiing today.
  10. Hey All, I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. It is becoming a bit like groundhogs day with the same terrain options but a lot better than last year at this time and the snow guns on Widowmaker and Razors really lifted people's spirits. In the house were toast, Atomic Jeff, JFBB Dan, Root, VTMark, Matt Edge, Justo, Ty, Rose, GSSucks and many others. Challenge had nice groomed snow early on and and upper Main Street was also decent..paradise was better than lazy mile because it was very smooth and temperatures in the 20s kept the beers cold in my car. It seemed like it would get pretty crowded with a lot of people waiting for first chair but no real lifelines but a lot of people enjoying mid winter conditions. Also saw concussion Ted and a lot of extreme type skiers and riders out and about. By the time I was done having a few hop ranches in the lot it was 35 degrees and sunny and the guns were shut off. I'll be back tomorrow should be real good early!!!
  11. Last decent snowmaking until Wednesday night.
  12. You know I used to have a job as an elevator operator. It had its ups and downs but as long as nobody pushed my buttons it was all good.
  13. Next week Blue is offering $30 tickets with a valid college ID January 3-6.
  14. Skifreak people are more willing to put their money in the market than spend it. We've seen a slowdown since the election in a recession proof industry which really shows people are tightening their boot straps.
  15. Poor kids. Do kids in jersey get off for Martin Luther King day??
  16. I think ski freak hit the nail in the head. Also I honestly believe that consumer spending has been down since the election. Consumer spending slowed in November, falling household income and higher debt attributed to that. Maybe that's why we're still waiting on pricing for the condos at Blue even though they said they'd have pricing in early fall.
  17. Well the most I ever skied at Blue in a season was 96 days in 06-07 and so that season was about $6 per day on my pass but more realistically somewhere around $15 per day. That's a lot less than I spend when I go out for karaoke.
  18. Hey all, I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. It was 31 degrees and still pretty dark out when I arrived at 730am. In the house were JFBB Dan, Toast, Rose, NMSki, Nastar Glenn, George, Slim, bumper Chris, Gary and many others. First three runs were on challenge which turned out to be the run of the day. Firm groomed snow a bit softer than frozen cord and pretty smooth. Lazy mile was good early but got really chunky and sugary fast. The last corner on paradise was spicy and upper Main Street was decent early with lower being filled with small cookies. While lift lines were a non issue the runs were pretty busy with lots of goobers in the house...ended up skiing 15 runs from 8-1020 then into the lot for a quick beer with NMSki and JFDan and now at work eating Arbys and about to go through a pile of mail. See everybody this weekend on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Weather looks good for both day.
  19. And think the topic was more that there aren't a lot of bargains during this holiday week. I feel like you have to be tuned into things to get the best bargains like when TV stations and radio stations offer up cheap passes along with ski club deals and deals from various consumer products like soda or gas station deals. I appreciate Enjorales and Ski2Live pointing them out. My guess is this week the majority are paying full holiday prices and some are using recent Xmas gift cards as well or vouchers. Blue finally had moderate crowds today after lower crowds all week.
  20. What was your per day cost last season??
  21. Way to get after it!!! On way home gotta stop at work for a bit report to follow later. Was a fun session with lots of PASRs
  22. Indiggio I'm sure the people who run Blue think on that level. Sheesh I'm glad 95% of my customers just pay the price we charge while the other 5% haggle or bring lower price quotes from competitors. I couldn't imagine being in the PA ski business...its just so risky. They must have a hell of a credit line at Blue mountain cause I see their cash flow fluctuating a ton. I do believe that during the weekend and holiday periods the average Blue mountain customer is coming from a higher income household. The amount of $100,000 cars from NJ and NY on busy days is astounding. Blue mountain is located in the perfect area to charge the maximum for lift tickets as it draws clientele from some of the wealthiest counties in the country..Bucks, Montgomery, most of North Jersey and NYC. Average income in the Lehigh valley is closer to that of the national average and casual skiers and riders I know from the Lehigh valley don't even go once a season and shake their head at the prices yet drop $100 going to an Eagles game or a couple grand going down the shore every summer or Disney world.. $70 is a lot for a day of skiing for one person. Shit for a family of 5 with rentals you're talking $500 before anybody even eats lunch.
  23. Me.... Ja Rule Living It Up and Ludacris Rollout were amoung the flashback hits pumping at the base...didn't bring me down!!! I hope it was the remix...G Unit!!!! 50 cent was actually at the liquor store on cedar crest Blvd back in the fall..biggest thing to happen in the Lehigh valley since Lil Bow Wow was at Vision club.
  24. I sometimes go just so I can write a report.
