  1. Hey All, Its almost another weekend, is anybody skiing Blue mountain the true mountain this weekend. The weather looks pretty good and not that cold and I heard Switchback has root rollers. Could be a nice one.
  2. Did they get Main Street six running
  3. Nah was a blonde although Dirty might have been dirty blonde as a kid
  4. I saw raised like $40k last I checked a lot of the Teton gravity mags are throwing down $100…I don’t even have a coffee table.
  5. As always I’m going to post the Good the Bad and the Ugly…while things are fresh… Good: Jeep Wagoneer rental car…plenty of space for five people and five pairs of skis…was only $50 in gas for 7 trips to the mountain and a couple back and forths to the airport. Bad: Walking around town a few days..very hard to keep feet dry..never walked on my heels so much..I should bring boots to JH but I feel like I’d jinx it and it wouldn’t precipitate. Yesterday I saw a homey with plastic bags wrapped around his shoes and Yak Traks… Ugly: Cue the dude looks like a lady song for the blonde in the singles line…always a letdown when the fly shawty boo you see from afar turns out to be a dude…nice hair though.. Good: The Crew…Atomic Jeff has done this trip with me 15 times…and still finding more nooks and crannies and he’s a great Chauffeur. This was Jack Frost Dans fourth trip to Jackson hole and he’s always on time, a strong skier obviously and good company. Nazareth Jay was the wild card and Also his fourth trip to JH..everybody likes Jay, he’s super positive and enjoys skiing…he’s always been a giant GSS fan except when my ski jacket smells like fromunda cheese…lots of laughs that’s for sure. Dirtwolf booked JH like a week ago and had a short window but miraculously made it work…and got the two best powder days of the trip…with on time openings. Talk about catching lightning in a bottle. 48 hours in Jackson hole he got to hit up the mangy, snake river brewery, Mexican restaurant and Silver Dollar bar with a hippie band playing..and couldn’t hit up the Cowboy wouldn’t be right without NMSki…and NMSki was there in spirit..he’ll be back next year and hopefully Mute, Toast, Ridge, angryHugo, MBike, Nastar Glenn, Johnny Style and anybody else who wants to go…no friends on a powder day, I ditched Jay then got ditched in the same 10 minute period…and if I’m slow I wanna get ditched. Didn’t matter the boys saved me freshies in the Hobacks.
  6. Good…maybe it will be quiet at work tomorrow cause of the ice but I doubt it. On those frigid days last month you’d be surprised how many walk ins I had.
  7. Is it gonna be snow at Blue tomorrow or sleet and freezing rain?
  8. February 4th day 7 of 7 Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Jackson hole ski resort. The final ski day of my 21st ski trip here. It was the warmest ski day here in about 150 total ski days. It was in the mid 40s in town, lower 40s at the base and low to mid 30s up high under overcast sky’s. There was some avalanche bombing with a 6 minute delayed start. First run amphitheater to thunder chair was pretty nice soft groomed snow. Grand had similar snow and up sublette which was very windy at the top to Bivoac which had great well formed hero snow bumps. We skied that three times then went down to thunder and skied the Thunder bumps which were similar conditions to Bivoac, a little longer and bumps not as well formed. Back up thunder I skied Grand again, then skied it a second time and a third time when Jay and Jeff skied paintbrush then Sundance gully to the base, lunch at Four Seasons. At the four seasons, Atomic Jeff said he saw Casey Neistat a popular YouTuber with 12 million subscribers outside. I saw him here before back in 2009, before he was famous, he was staying at elk country then and was on my bus and recorded an episode of the Neistat brothers for HBO while here, I happen to have a few appearances on the episode from the bus and the liftline for the. So I went outside and talked to him for a minute. All in all today was better than expected and this trip aside from yesterdays delayed start and my goggle foggy issues two days ago was one of the better trips here. I’m glad JFDan and Dirtwolf got to experience the Hobacks in its untracked glory and Nazareth Jay got a good laugh at my ski jacket which smells like a combination of cheese and dookie from all my sweating and jacket being soaked all day. Heres some pictures. The last picture is from 16 years ago from the HBO episode when I was on the bus.
  9. The Tram opened slightly earlier than the gondola and a few of the very lower lifts were running. Saturday and Sundays powder days were on time starts even with avy bombing but today was a once or twice a year occurrence such a delayed start due the the copious amounts of moisture in the last load of snow. Normally a delayed start like this means a boner doner pow day but it wasn’t powder today just new snow. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of sympathy from all y’all. It’s very rare for JH to have a day they completely shutdown. That happened once last season as avy conditions were way too dangerous and also back in 2009 the whole mountain shut down around 10am because winds were so strong. Years later strong winds over 140mph knocked out power to the entire Teton village and the resort was shut down for four days. Thats a real stoke stomper. Also hearing patrol on radio yesterday,”42 year old male right side of Grand knee pop” big yikes. Fantastic supper at Orsetto I had cheese garlic bread and steak Diane. Atomic Jeff caught me walking to the Loaf and Jug..I swear I can’t pick my nose and eat a booger without him noticing
  10. February 3rd 2025 Day 6 of 7 Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Jackson hole. The snow report indicated 15” new in the last 24 hours but only 6” overnight. Overnight it was in the 30s and rainy in town and a massive amount of snow melted and I didn’t even go to the bagel place much to atomic Jeff’s dismay cause I didn’t want my shoes to get all wet. We arrived at the hill at 810am and got into the singles line and waited and waited and waited some more and right before 11am the gondola finally opened. First run to Thunder via Amphitheater was untracked and slightly tracked thick crud..a couple inches of it. Up thunder and grand was a little better..lots of untracked but I haven’t skied this kind of sierra cement much so was trying to stay in control. Sublette was closed due to high winds and we went back to Thunder which had a massive liftline so took marmet to the woods we skied the other day. Untracked of course but a lot more effort to make short turns through tight spaces. Up Marmet again to a similar run and then I skied lower tram line to the base and that was it. The longest short ski day ever..Me and atomic Jeff went to the mangy and Dan and Nazareth Jay did another couple runs. I like powder, nice spring snow and groomed..bumps as well but not a huge fan of sierra cement…some like Johnny law will say you can really slut it up in that but not like in pow pow. So I’ll say it was a new snow day not a powder day like the previous two. I still have an afterglow from yesterday’s Hobacks. So im actually hoping it doesn’t snow overnight or just a little bit so it’s not such a shit show tomorrow. I’ve had plenty of sleeper pow days at Jh but this storm cycle was announced so far in advance that I even rode the lift with somebody who drove from Wisconsin for this storm. Sorry no pictures today with a delayed start I wasn’t stopping to take pictures.
  11. Snaining at the base REO Speedwagon playing.
  12. Three Avy bombs so far in snow king. Leaving for the mountain in a few. 15” in the last 24 hours and 6” overnight the caveat is it’s pouring rain in town and on the lower mountain prob real thick.
  13. Yeah or maybe @Johnny Style what’s up with that
  14. What day do you leave for Stowe? I’ll check their forecast along with Jackson hole and Arizona snow bowl.
  15. @saltyant I’m glad you wrote a camelback report because no PASRs were at Blue mountain this past weekend
  16. @saltyant get on a plane and come to Jackson hole it’s grate
  17. How early do the locals line up for first chair on the pow days?
  18. February 2nd 2025 Jackson Hole day 5 of 7 Today dawned with 7” of new snow in the past 24 hours and 16” in the last 2 days. I saw Dirtwolf at the bagel place again today…had first tracks at Pearl street bagels and a lot more first tracks throughout the day. A slow and steady drive to the mountain had us there around 8am and in line for the gondola at 810am it was snowing hard with a temperature around 30 degrees and we were maybe 15 people back in the singles line. Amphitheater was deep..as deep as yesterday a tad lighter density but medium to dense I guess..the left side all untracked my goggles were giving me some issues so I skied it a little slower and kept atomic Jeff waiting like a whole minute at the Thunder chair. Next run getting to Grand low vis plus goggle issues I just decided to ski alone…but don’t cry for me Argentina..my goggles got a little better later and all I skied was untracked..lots and lots of it. Grand was boner doner..Jeff was like it was so deep and untracked on the left, well the center was as well..then off to the Hobacks and second or third best Hobacks for me…the line I usually take is less travelled to begin with but just a handful of people in there and that’s where I took the most pictures…I literally felt old moguls like three spots in 2500 vertical feet. Union pass had a bit of a line and the heavy snow on the mountain was more a rain snow mixture with some sleet pellets..I was pretty soaked already…the guy I rode the lift with said his son is at mammoth and it’s raining to the peak. I skied into the village used the restroom and went into ski shop to see about cat poop which is something that prevents goggles from fogging but honestly my helmet and strap and foam just so soaked wouldn’t have mattered and the line was so long and others using hand dryers on goggles in the restroom. I just used a few paper towels and last few runs like 40% better…i took teewinot to apres vous and the main blue run was giant pow bumps and Jerry’s everywhere so I ducked right into the Moran area to the skiers left of the Teton lift and that was really good and not a ton of people. By now I was super soaked it wasn’t a big vert day but a big untracked snow day and I didn’t want in any long liftlines..doing the hobacks early today the pro move. I’m sure it was great later but not blank canvass…I stopped at the mangy moose store while boys were still skiing had an iced tea outside and like fifteen minutes later they were done and then went back to town changed into dry clothes and went to the snake river brewery for lunch. Mexican food tonight I could go for a frozen strawberry margarita served in a chalice the size of a small bird bath.
  19. Visibility is no problem and yesterday woods were definitely in play even before the snowstorm. Airhead you should get out here, you’d have a blast and really maximize the experience.
  20. 7” new and dumping…supposed to snow 19”-27” in the next 24 hours on the mountain
