  1. Nice I'll post a weekend roll call thread Friday.
  2. Wait you have to pay to be a ski instructor. I guess with the training you can pick up independent clients and cut the ski area out of the deal. I never thought about it but most of the rippers out at Jackson hole were probably trained by a PSIA certified instructor. Hardest terrain here is still relatively mellow terrain in the scheme of things.
  3. Wow that's crazy that would frustrate the hell out of me...I've seen the race team doing one leg drills on flat terrain and it looks like torture to me. It's like a dog on a leash...when I was 9 I had a first time on skis lesson at big Boulder but already knew what I was doing cause I was an avid roller skater. Then when I was 11 at blue had a lesson when my middle school ski club came up to blue and part way through he lesson me and my friend ditched the lesson and went down Burma road. It was frustrating because we kept stopping or waiting for people who fell and I only had a few hours till the bus was bringing me back.
  4. Just gotta get out and enjoy the spring skiing...I brought my ski stuff into work again today. Planning for an early exit. I'm a hell of a lot more amped to ski when it's in the 70s then when it's uber cold. Seasons like this are the new normal. Every year keeps getting warmer. Last winter was an anomaly as the other 99% of the world was warm as fuck.
  5. Went down to 36 here but high of 79 today.
  6. Where Dafuk is mount pleasant. Wider stance is more stable..narrower more versatile in the bumps and trees. Forward is better in spring snow and really putting a lot of weight on skis is also good. Gotta stomp through the piles vs letting them throw you around.
  7. What level instructor were you again?? I was laying down railroad tracks today..GSS turns didn't you read my real time report. I made six turns on switchback instead of three.
  8. The comment that started today's argument where I said that in spring snow speed is your friend is something I have said probably 150 times before and nobody has disagreed with me on that comment until today.
  9. I had to look that up. I haven't watched TV in four years. I thought you meant sugar Ray Leonard. As long as you're having fun!!! Maybe try an widen your stance a little for more stability and more angulation.
  10. No you don't get sarcasm at all...
  11. Temperature is dropping fast tonight. Already down to 65
  12. Your true colors have always shined like a rainbow...easily offended...can't tolerate inane conversation. Most people think I'm awesome and funny some dont think I'm cool and they are typically wet blankets and Sandy vaginas. Oh and out of respect I spelled your name wrong to protect your anonymity. Enjoy skiing only two more days until you can grind Matt edge spine!!!
  13. It's cause ghetto people don't like the cold and can't afford to ski and ride.
  14. Saying suck a black cock is not being racist I just wanted to make sure you knew which cock to suck.
  15. Somebody said that on alpinezone so it must be true. Wow I was sweaty when I quit.
  16. TP4 have you ever had your riding examined by a real creek professional snowboard instructor? I think you and also VTMark ride fast to compensate for your lack of ability and technique. One more complaint and I'll have atomic Jeff ban you. Why are you always so offended by things. Be a man.
  17. Our opinions here are more dogmatic than in the PSIA world because most of us just ski for fun and don't care much about technique and most of us haven't taken more than a first timer lesson or two while to the PSIA people skiing is a job and they have to pass through different hoops to advance to the next level. As a kid my uncle always said I should be an instructor or a patroller to give back to the sport but that in my opinion would be terrible. I wouldn't wanna help random strangers learn to ski and give up my own skiing time. I do like teaching funeral directors how to sell tombstones. I understand it's more than just giving lessons it's about the commaraderie and circle jerks. What is tail gunning???
  18. On the way out of here did another run on razors and another nightmare dream to close it out. By tomorrow there will be a stream running down the right side of nightmare. There is still a solid 3-4 foot base. They should last till Sunday beyond that who knows. It's only been warm for like 24 hours and they've already lost a lot of snow. Was nice to get out for a quick afternoon session. I was literally on the phone with a client at 215pm and standing on top of the 6-pack at 255 JADIP 72 degrees out.
  19. QFT... I fell in the bumps a few weeks ago..and took a good wipeout at Jackson hole...I don't fall a lot like Matt edge and Phillycore though. When I was a newer skier like the dude I fell a lot more.
  20. Still some lines in the Blue baumer glades for the tree skiers. In the woods off of switchback taking a piss. I'm sweating woo..helmet is hot..gonna go back to six pack and do a few more on razors or nightmare to dreamweaver then get something cold to drink. Maybe some Gatorade or iced tea. Maybe stop at Rita's if it's open. I have water and beer in my car and I'm sure it's warm as fuck lol
  21. Definitely not nothing at blue is steep enough to require slow and deliberate turns...at Jackson hole I make slow and deliberate turns regularly to avoid injury, dismemberment and death. Here it's mainly a tool used by patrollers, instructors and derps to pick out their flaws...I did make a couple extra turns on switchback. Maybe 6 turns on it instead of 3. Top of nightmare. So nice!!! Dreamweaver.
  22. The challenge bumps were once again great. I practiced wiggling my butt like I learned in a level two clinic and it really helped my stance and extension technique. Traversed over to middle razors and down razorback which was in full on sun and kind of slow but not that choppy. I then went to switchback which was in a shadow but it was a welcome change as it was much cooler and the snow was faster. There was an especially chilly pocket at the bottom of Main Street and my nips got hard. Now back on the top of razors again it's still in the sunshine.
