  1. Go to jackson hole and Schif did you get a season pass at Sno?
  2. Sorry RideDE I like Vag... And I don't always follow the rules cause I'm a badass...you are welcome to write me a demerit.
  3. Slight chance for December 5. Long range has a few teens for overnight lows in the Poke N Hoes. I think a decent chance of December 12. Crazy that last year blue opened 2.5 days from now and already announced their opening on 11/19
  4. At their peak Killington did about 1 million visits per season. When PowdR corp took over they dropped to about 750,000 and now are up due to their early and late season skiing. I believe whistler/blackcomb is the North American leader with about 2 million visits per year and Vail is in that range as well. The big summit county resorts do over a million and Jackson hole is pushing 500,000...I remember seeing that big sky does about 300,000.
  5. I've never been to Plattekill but I like hunter the best of the big three Catskill areas and its pretty steep.
  6. A 3200 vert mountain only doing 200k visits doesn't seem like much. Doesn't matter it's not a private business and its very remote. It's good for the skiers as its less crowded.
  7. Those whiteface numbers are pathetic.
  8. Honestly Ski2Live if I lived somewhere where the Catskills were only an hour farther away than blue I'd prob have a season pass at hunter and ski there on the weekends and blue night skiing during the week. For me the Catskills are 2.5 hours farther away than blue.
  9. All skiers should be up early any weekend day period no excuses. Isn't montage way farther than blue from NJ???
  10. Cause an hour after blue opens there's already icy patches when it's smooth it's just so nice whether solid or soft cord it's a great feeling just flying down and as someone else mentioned empty trails are a real treat. Plus no liftlines and early on the lift rarely stops so you can really rack up the runs. Also the best pow runs I've had at blue have been mid day during a heavy snowstorm...at best you might get a few fresh inches on some runs if it snows a little bit after grooming gotta be a rider of the storm to get that freshie fresh at blue the true.
  11. Where did you go to college??
  12. No cause I don't think I'd like the taste of dick. Boom
  13. I heard that season passholders get a free hot dog and slice of bday cake at 4 PM on a random Sunday in march along with a Dixie cup of RC cola.
  14. That's still serious revenue even a 2% profit margin and barb is making a million a year in income. Not bad
  15. Wow I wish I had popcorn at work. This is good stuff.
  16. The level three whirlybird training is much better at Bear Creek and they have a soaking tub next to the Park Crüe Yurt.
  17. I think they can get away with paying less because its a seasonal business and also the perk of a free season pass and I believe discounted season passes for family members. I know they do about 400,000 skier visits per year so that number is $140 per visit but they make revenue from other means besides just lift tickets including tubing, lessons, rentals, catering/weddings, mountain biking, disc golf, adventure park, gift shops and food. I know camelback sold for about $70 million and they have alot more facilities than blue. To think a ski area sold for about what it makes in one years revenue is crazy. I don't know much about business valuation but many large corporations sell for many times their annual revenue. I'm so happy I'm not in the ski resort business. Its just so fickle. Usually XMAS week is a washout and last year MLK day wasn't crowded at all.
  18. When I was a freshman they had the Stowe/sugarbush pass and when they ended that I didn't get to ski with half my ski buddies in college. Kind of sucked....that's a real first world problem. The only time I ever had a ski rack was when I was in college because I was giving alot of people rides skiing.
  19. And 7 miles closer but college freshman don't usually know those sorts of things. I chose a Stowe pass over the huge pass which consisted of sugarbush, jay peak and MRG.
  20. Yeah alot of people who I was in the dorms with didnt make it past the second year.
  21. How does your son like UVM? Whenever I get an 802-656-xxxx number I know what it is.
  22. Nice is your youngest in 10th grade... No more people die during the winter but sales are way lower because memorial stones generally aren't installed during the winter time because the cemetery's don't install concrete foundations during the winter time. For example we've done more business so far in November than all of January and February combined. This warm fall is really helping out business. Most monument companies shutdown during the winter months and from late December to late February many of our suppliers shutdown.
  23. Welcome to PASR
  24. Wow my 20-30 million figure was wicked low...that's some serious revenue.
  25. No it was on his foot...he was out alot of last season cause of a Crossfit injury.
