  1. Barb do you still have Copper mountain buddy passes?
  2. Article about snowboardings decline. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2013/11/28/what-behind-snowboarding-drastic-drop-popularity/FAkg6xIGM0PitZem5TT2uL/story.html
  3. I agree Barb!!!!
  4. I thought you were 39...
  5. Prove it!!!! Would you rent a place at the base of Camelback??? Why camelback over Blue???
  6. Wahahahahooey Vermont would be ok if not for the drive and the crowds and often the snow and the cold. I'm definitely alot more excited to be going to Colorado in April vs when I used to go to Stowe then back when I was poor.
  7. It's the best place in Vermont for lower level skiers and riders...unfortunately super crowded cause its close to Connecticut and Massachusettes.
  8. Johnny law doesn't like bumps. I went to elk once in 1995 and those lifts are so slow. I can't deal with low speed lifts in 2015. Jackson hole has alot of fixed grip lifts but they are direct. TheDude4Bides when are u posting a Breckenridge trip report???
  9. I believe 2010-2011 was the last season there was a half pipe at Blue and then the following season it became Central Park. They used to blast snow for the halfpipe for several days then hire an independent crew to built the pipe and they had a Zaugg halfpipe groomer. Unfortunately the halfpipe didn't get much use and it wasnt groomed enough so they got rid of it. Camelback actually used to have two halfpipes. A normal one and a mini one. Sno mountain had a super pipe one year. I also see the decline of halfpipes attributed to the decline of snowboarding and the expense and time to build and maintain. Who or what is GW???
  10. Blue probably did half the visits 8-10 years ago as now...just guessing...a double was replaced by a six pack...nightmare to Dreamweaver and glades were cut...mogul terrain was expanded...learning areas expanded...millions put into lodges and tents...parking lot expanded..name changed from blue mountain ski area to blue mountain ski resort along with new signs...big air bag, no more half pipe, summit lodge access road changed...ski patrol has become less strict and friendlier...and more and more people buying season passes. A skiing success story in a time when the market is flat due to changing demographics with baby boomers agin and giving up the sport while their children have less disposable income.
  11. They'll be open at least till the last weekend of the month probably first weekend in April maybe longer...it's the same every year!!! Great for us and great for the mountain since they made bank this season and last as well.
  12. I don't understand your logic...I'm guessing crowds this weekend will be like 1/4 of last weekend as most non diehards will be moving onto spring activities.
  13. Nice report!!!
  14. Also first year Matt Edge had a season pass at Blue and he's been grinding hard all Season.
  15. Yeah but only the weekend not midweek. April 13th was closing I Missed it cause I was in Colorado. Last winter it snowed more but the snow melted faster in march and it was not quite as cold last winter but still pretty cold. Not many days of spring conditions last season just like this one.
  16. But is there demand for it. The latest blue ever stayed open when Ray owned the place was April 10th in both 1992-93 and 1993-94 and both times they closed with full coverage. Last year was a great winter and by 4/20 the snow was vaporized.
  17. Oh Lordy....Johnny Law I just pooped and still feeling farty.
  18. I laughed. And for those not in the know...a Jong is a jack off newbie gaper.
  19. Yeah Burma used to have a steep section near the middle...indiggio how old were you when you learned to ski?
  20. Seems like alot of PASRs in the last few years have switched from other mountains to Blue mountain. JLaw switched from Bear creek to Blue...Phillycore, JFDan and Ridgeracer switched from JFBB to Blue and even TP4 and VTMark are blue passholders...anybody else. They've all seen the light and the light is blue.
