I saw that one...look before you leap!!!!

True dat PARidge...this time of year when it's just the blues and greens in the mellow middle section just doesn't compare to when Floyd's and the east mountain and woods are open.

Sabba where did you go to college? I think Saint Lawrence is up there. I just saw their website. 1151 vert..that's nice of you to wanna help family ski. I have a friend who's a casual snowboarder who wants to go with me and I keep putting him off. I just don't wanna be bothered by skiing with noobs. Definitely post a report with pictures!!!

I only did the bumps once on Sunday but Main Street a few times...takes some legs to straight run the chop on the lower part of Main Street. I hope they let the bumps get really big. I really dislike breaking in the new seeds. Nice are you doing two days at Whiteface and one day at Big Tupper? I've heard of Big Tupper, Warp Daddy from AlpineZone used to ski there quite a bit. How's the natural snowpack up there??? I saw pictures from this morning at Stowe which is probably only 50-60 miles as the crow flys from the adirondacks and all the trees are still snow covered.

Call in sick. Take a vacation day..whatever. I haven't taken a day off since the summer. Next week I'm only working Monday and the following week I think maybe 2.5 days. I don't know about all of y'all but I'm dreaming of a white Kwanzaa!!!! Tuts lane is a blue run. When I first skied Blue in 1991 and got off the vista chair I saw tuts lane for the first time and it looked freaking sweet. Tuts lane to lazy to the falls to homestretch is a pretty fun run for early season. I don't like having to cut all the way to homestretch from Main Street...I prefer taking the lower park or Central Park back to the six pack after skiing Main Street or switchback or Burma but those runs aren't open. Nothing worse that entering homestretch from the shuttle at almost zero speed with people whizzing by from the falls. #EarlySeasonBlueMountainProblems

Blue is closing at 4pm today. Tickets are only $30 for the remainder of the day. Supposed to rain a whopping 1/10-1/4" of rain.

And why were you riding the Main Street chair Sunday when the six pack was running. I can honestly say that once the six pack is open I only ride the Main Street chair once or twice all season. Usually on a powder day when I want to hit the too of Widowmaker. This...one of the poker players at the bar last night asked me if I'd been skiing yet and I said yeah 9 times so far and his jaw dropped...funny cause I feel like I'm slacking since I haven't had a ton of desire for night skiing..he said he saw that Blue had 18 runs open and I said its more like 3 lol. I'm looking forward to taking off Thursday and hopefully the snow sets up Wednesday night. I need fast snow...the snow this past weekend was slllloooowwww.

I don't think the middle part of Jack Frost is 600 vert..driving to Vermont for one day of skiing is pretty hardcore. I've done it before a few times. I don't think I'm going anywhere except Washington DC between now and when I go to Jackson Hole in late January but I kind of wanna get back to Stowe and Sugarbush.

Combination Taco Bell/pizza hut express are awesome. We have one on the southside. Nothing goes better with tacos than some breadsticks. Fries also go well with tacos so I've done Taco Bell followed by Burger King or vice versa...you guys would prob be surprised but I always have food on my mind. I've even jerked off to Paula Dean.

Wow just wow. How have you been Schif??

Have you fallen in a tree well before? I know several years back, Matt Stunts dad died in a tree well at Steamboat.

I wish it was 12/26. I'm sick of XMAS bah humbug

The cloudy overnight sky's make me Leary that temperatures won't drop as low as forecasted. It's been the trend the last week or so.
-
I thought you just snowboard?? Why'd you rent vs buy ski boots?

I think I was drunk lol

I don't know TNT seemed like mostly season passholders this past weekend. I think with marginal snowmaking weather beginning tomorrow night they'll be able to keep their existing terrain open. The fact that the past three nights in a row have not gone below freezing is really hurting them.. TNT is it hard to ski the short runs and use the slow lifts at Jack Frost after skiing Blue mountain?? Paradise and homestretch don't have much snow. I've never seen Paradise open with so little base.

Just a heads up, Blue is considering closing at 4pm today due to showers in the forecast. Homestretch is starting to look thin. I hope the six pack is still open Thursday.

Wow that is pure gold plain and simple anyway you slice it or dice it. Shit back in the 80s there was always that pesky paperboy going after you for $2. But I was a paperboy in the 90s so with inflation I was going after about tree fiddy. Back then all you needed were some fancy looking swim goggles and a sweater with evergreen trees and you were ready to tackle the mountain. Fueled on a Fluffernutter sangwich, some Funyans and some YooHoo, you were ready to try out for the schools ski team even though some dude named Chadwick was in charge of your fate based on his timing skills. Sure the neighbor had a hot foreign exchange student..no big deal and there were often Asian people at red lights taunting you over a portable Loudspeaker but seriously guys and gals..the 80s were a pretty fun time..I'd sum it up with one word....BASIC..

When I was at whistler way back in 1999 I ducked a rope into a powder filled area well it just so happens there was a rope due to lots of cliffs. I was above the cliffs and had no clue how high they were or the landings. To take my skis back off and hike up would have been quite the task as the snow was a couple feet deep. I was genuinely shit my pants nervous. Anyway after some time above the cliffs there were people below and I asked how high the cliff was and they said about ten meters. Damn metric system. Anyway there was a slightly smaller drop to the side and I hit it and it was like 3-2-1 then everything went dark i made a bathtub sized hole both skis ejected goggles flew off..total yard sale but the landing was soft. Could have been way way worse. At bridger bowl I was traversing into a sketchy section of north bowl with lots of rocks and got a little out of control off some whoop dee dos and skied into the uphill slope to try and kill speed and I ended up falling backwards and luckily didnt hit any rocks. Took probably a half hour to find my one ski and I only found it cause I stepped on it. Sketch city Back in college we had a ski Vermont discussion list party and bypass to the skiers left of nosedive was closed well I told the group lets poach it. At moderate speed I ducked under the very solid rope..not like the ones at blue but more stable. Well my limbo skills from the fun rink were not up to par and my forehead caught the role and I got clotheslines..full sprawled out yardsale...but I opened the run and there were a solid two dozen people who witnessed this...could have been really bad if my neck hit the rope. Even at Blue this last weekend I was passing people on the right on paradise before the sharp turn and my right ski got off the trail and went down like a foot but I'm an agile mofo and recovered. That could have been a spectacular fall.

I used to enjoy rollerblading in the summer cause it was the closest thing to skiing. I first had Veraflex crap ass toys r is blades the. Got the rollerblade brand zetra blades and then the macro ladies which were fast with better wheels and bearings..had those till first year of college. Aside from jumping off smallish flights of steps..like the four steps in front of my house, I mainly liked going down hills..I never got into the grind thing..I did play a little hockey on them but only a little.
