Anybody nervous how crowded the trails will be when all three high speed lifts are running and five major trails closed and another one closed for the race team? We will see this weekend..gonna be interesting. The valley base village is gonna be hopping…I can’t wait.

I’m sure a lot of cancellations this weekend at their hotel.

Or lazy and west not east.

You’ll also be able to access upper upper Main Street and upper upper switchback

Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 835am and it was partly sunny and in the low 30s. None of the snowmaking cannons were on but there was scattered snowmaking overnight. In the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, Dirtwolf and a couple hundred boomers and lots of snowboarders. At the 9am opening bell there were a solid 75-100 people at the Quad. First run down razors and it was a wall to wall smooth corduroy carpet. We did a repeat of razors then onto Main Street which was a wall to wall carpet and even the skeet spot skied well. I repeated Main Street 5 more times then peaced out around 1020am. All in all it was excellent snow but already a half full quad corral when I left with people spilling in. I don’t blame them as tomorrow it’s supposed to be warm and rainy. I’ll either be back Friday or Saturday.

Oh and sorry I meant four seconds of pleasure on X-ing. Freefall and coming soon are still closed as is Stalins ditch. -
That’s like a song. I don’t even know if I have to do a roll call thread this week..everybody is gonna be there. Maybe there’ll even be balloons. I can bring a scissor from work if they forget the scissor for the ribbon. Just remind me to remove it from my jacket pocket before I go through TSA.

Utah is really going off. -
I’m hitting Widowmaker from the peak or maybe x-ing..lazy to the falls..maybe the whole lazy mile woo..I almost took vista chair earlier to get a peak of the top terminal. @saltyant this is getting good.

Six spots will be raffled off for first chair which will be at 10am. In order to enter for a spot you have to donate $10 to a veterans fund that I believe blue is matching and winners also get a free lift ticket and even season pass holder wins it’s an extra buddy pass. I might enter Matt Edge and Pops have told me more than $10 worth of stories from when they were in the service. Edge was in the Navy so I have that in common with him since I was once a semen.

Salty they might even bring in some local celebrities for the ribbon cutting. Maybe we’ll even take shots of champagne @ColoradoHigh this is fantastic. Now time to check the forecast see if they’ll be able to get switchback open for the weekend.

It’s a sticky situation.

Prices this weekend…maybe when and if they get more terrain open they can charge $140…do I hear $150…going once going twice sold to the Asian family in the Range Rover with NY license plates.

Oh damn on Coming soon..there was a rope across it the whole time I was there. -
You’re welcome and anytime. I try to do my best to monitor the stats as the self appointed unofficial stats manager. Now some like BenM are a lost cause with the stats.

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 830am and it was in the mid 30s under overcast sky’s with light winds. In the house were C1, Root, Tele-Matt, Denise, Rodney and all the boomers. First run on paradise was a nice cord carpet but a little slow as fresh man made was blended into the surface. Second run on Razors was an 8..super smooth and edgable but regressed to a 6.5 a few runs later as a lot of the boilerplate below was exposed and not as smooth. Main Street was slow and smooth on the upper section and fast and choppy on the lower part and homestretch was deep deep sugar almost from the start. The best snow on the mountain was on coming soon as it was a carpet after 10am…four seconds of pleasure. Just the quad running and nearly every chair had people on it. While it wasn’t empty, it wasn’t busy either. All in all a fun session. JADIP

The guns are off. Should make for more consistent conditions but I wanted to see the cannons firing away

The PPL increase was at least 30% apparently they use alot of gas and diesel fuel to run all their electrical stuff and with fuel prices high they did a big increase and now gas prices are moderate but I don’t see them reducing the price. -
They better go all out. I just checked the forecast. It’s depressing but not as bleak as last week. We should all be super thankful for the early cold and the Xmas polar vortex..today was like winter lite.
