  1. It's a cold rain. Won't hurt the base much and will fill up bear creeks pond.
  2. TP4...what updates it's raining...and sorry bro its not raining men so nothing to get excited about.
  3. The temperature drops 3-5 degrees for every thousand feet of elevation gained so rowdowser your point is not valid and yes there are exceptions like inversions and such but elevation plays as much of a factor in an areas climate as distance from the equator and influence of the ocean. At 9pm it was 24 at mount Pocono and 29 in Scranton. That doesn't make sense. Scranton is farther north. Al Gore is full of shit and so is John Denver
  4. Not necessarily this storm is incredibly long duration a solid 36-48 hours...don't be surprised with 6-10"+ totals for the poconos. I'd rather it start as rain and end as snow than vice versa...I also won't be surprised if its raining tomorrow night in the valley and snowing on the summit cam at Blue.. Also the Catskills and green mountains are gonna get dumped on... I believe this storm is named Damon and its gonna be a real Demon...buckle your seatbelts boys and girls looks like this ski season is gonna be a bumpy ride.
  5. I'm hoping Wednesday morning at blue will be pretty nice.
  6. Somebody PM sib or check epic ski
  7. Scranton isn't the poconos...Scranton is a heat island just like the urban area of the Lehigh valley and is a valley location.
  8. Romeo all I can say is it feels damn good to be a skier!!!
  9. I'm not buying the 3 degree difference. Right now there's a 6 degree difference between the Allentown airport and mount pocono.
  10. Are you replying to your own statement??? That is some weird wild stuff Romeo is English your second language??? I sort of feel like you're a troll
  11. Here is the projected storm track...yes it backtracks and does a little dance lol kind of like the hokey pokey.
  12. Now showing 24 for Thursday night.. That could be just what BC needs to open this weekend.
  13. You got me shaking my Herman questioning the meaning of lyfe wow just wow.
  14. This!!!! But don't you need lights to be able to see the people as well???
  15. Upper 20s and snow is not ideal snowmaking temperatures. For Allentown I see low of 32 tomorrow night, 30 Wednesday night, 28 Thursday night, 28 Friday night and 28 Saturday night. That's not good snowmaking weather..this morning it was around 20 and that is very good snowmaking temperatures. I'm not trying to be a pessimist I'm being a realist.
  16. What about skiing in the dark??? You mean night skiing? It feels the same as skiing during the day but there are lots of shadows and on a clear night you can see lots of stars...
  17. My grandfather found a $100 bill in like 1942 in New York City.
  18. Not morning??? If it snows I'm not going to work that day...I even have an appointment that day but will cancel due to bad weather.
  19. We did a radar gun day and atomicskier hit 74mph on razors edge and I hit 64mph but I wasn't in a tuck...In Jackson hole I know I've hit 75-80mph many times. Shit is wild..u don't wanna catch an edge at those speeds. When I ski those speeds with my helmet vents open it whistles. Romeo you gonna be at Blue mountain this weekend??
  20. A couple inches everywhere south of the poconos. Super wet slop...Blue might squeak out 5-6". Anyway this is a typical now casting event so things could change. We typically don't do well on backend storms.
  21. It was a $5 I could tell from the lift it wasn't a $1. Anyway I let some kid have it. On that note I've found money at Blue at least four times..all amounts under $20. TP4 and I had the discussion before about how we both often find money. The most I've ever found was a $50 and I usually find amounts from $1-$20
  22. They do....and so does Downingtown.
  23. The lowest temperatures for lows I see in this weeks forecast for Allentown is 28 degrees later this week. Pretty marginal for BC...
  24. Have you been following this storm? This storm is gonna bring in warmer temperatures..and gonna rain 1-2 inches during the day tomorrow then as the storm pulls away it will draw in colder air and quickly changeover remaining rain to snow right down to the big cities along I-95..you'll have to travel at least to the northern poconos and Catskills to have a chance at all snow and it will be alot like 15-20"+..why do you think Blue is closed tomorrow. Because its gonna be a freaking monsoon.
  25. I don't understand why people would take out their wallet on the lift. Except for the few times I do a real time TR on the lift, I never even open jacket pockets. Anyway losing a credit card is no big deal. Can just cancel it and get a new one sent.
