Hahaha I remember about 11-12 years ago before they had the RFID scanners they had a coffee shack next to ski check and and where you’d get scanned in to enter the snow and I never once saw it open while waiting to get on the snow and this is after they changed the opening to 8am.

There was no fanfare, when the new brochure came out around this time of year, it announced that Blue had a new lift and the trail map had been modified. That was back when they opened at 730am on weekends and before Rays grill on skis.

They say that Covid is making a comeback this fall. Is anybody getting another booster shot? I still have customers who are just starting to go out. They literally quarenteened themselves for 2.5 years. Crazy but only last year people wanted vaccine proof at Xmas parties.

16 years ago when they replaced the challenge double with the Challenge express, there was little speculation and arm chair quarterbacking. The 05-06 season ended and there was no six pack and the 06-07 season began and there was a six pack. My guess is they’re waiting for the chairs from the manufacturer. Due to the supply chain things are slower. I’m sure somebody from Blues engineering department is calling the manufacturer for updates and they give the typical 2 week response. I do that…

This Eldora segment is good. I’ll ski there one of these days. It could be a good place to ski on the first day as it’s lower elevation so can acclimate a little.

I can officially say I’m starting to get excited for the upcoming ski season. Some years by early august I’m sticking my head in the freezer making raps about lazy mile but this last summer I’ve stayed pretty occupied between karaoke and selling memorial stones. I’m gonna try and watch some ski videos I’ve never seen before. The Egan brothers are legends. One of them was at a ski movie when I was in college but I was just interested in the stickers and brochures and free fun size candies at some of the booths.

How are the leaves?

They have them in the vending machine at the hotel house and they’re not cheap. I think over $2.
