  1. I don’t think Elk has added a lift since their slow quad in 1994
  2. When Blue replaced the old challenge double with a six pack in 2006, they stored the old chairs on one of their little paths in the woods near the top of the vista chair. I don’t think any ski area would want the main or Burma lifts as they’re almost 40 years old.
  3. I reserved off site parking at Jet Stream. I heard that the parking garages at the airport have often been full. Coincidently economy parking is reopening with about 1/5 of the original lot next week and long term garage parking is going up from $16 per day on stays over 72 hours to $20 per day over 96 hours. For shits and giggles I called airport parking a few hours ago and they said they only had spots in level 7 of the E-F garage. Flight is at 8am and arrival in Denver is a little after 10am. I said 10am before but I believe that’s when my return flight is. Always good to check these things.
  4. Probably the usual Abasin, Loveland and Copper.
  5. I think they do their gaper day festivities on April fools day. Search on YouTube. Lots of videos.

  7. Today was closing day at Jackson hole and of course it was dumping in the afternoon. Tomorrow is employee day and they’re gonna have freshies.
  8. Reminds me of the Oregon trail
  9. Actually 5” at Abasin and 2” at Breck but I’m sure there are deeper freshies. Follow the wind..grind the spine..ski fast and pretty you’re Tom Petty go into the great wide open and learn to fly like Salty.. Free refills
  10. Looks like about 5”’deep at most of the Colorado spots
  11. I’ve seen other videos of the Headwaters, big sky’s triple black terrain. I saw where on some of the hike you are holding a rope and there’s a lot of exposure. A tough thing on hike to terrain that gnarly is finding a semi flat spot to put your skis on.
  12. Hey All, I leave for Colorado Tuesday morning. Flying United from Philly to Denver around 10am, renting a mid sized awd SUV at Alamo..stop off in Idaho springs for safety supplies and then to the Silverthorne comfort suites. I’ve stayed in 5 different hotels in Silverthorne/Dillon including the Best Western, La Quinta Inn, Days Inn, Hampton inn and Silver inn. Airfare is free, hotel is $680 with tax for six nights and rental car prob will be about $500-550 it’s a variable price. Logistics are boring so onto the weather. It’s supposed to be cold and snowy the first part of my trip and then still winterlike with sun and clouds..remember snow breeds snow..could be a bit of a cycle. I’m Just hoping I-70 through the continental divide is open as it looks like all day snow Tuesday in the mountains Falalalala Heres a few pictures from past mid april trips to Colorado.
  13. The radar shows snow along the Appalachian spine. Wednesday and Thursday mornings in Silverthorne it’s gonna be in the low teens probably single digits at Abay...brrrrr
  14. I didn’t know you were into history. Allentown is old AF. Founded in 1762
  15. Where did you grow up? My grandfather was into trolleys. Allentown had a whole system of trolleys. He even had one like from Mr. Rogers neighborhood in his library.

  20. Blue needs to build a waterpark and a hotel if they want to attract people there in the summer. Also a mountain coaster.
  21. The last time I was in Scranton in 2008 I visited Steamtown. A train lovers paradise.
  22. Do people still call it Folf? Frisbee golf is also usually free.
