2/8..sunny..packed powder carpet.

Demos are almost always during the week I guess due to less crowds...like Toast was saying you should demo differerent skis from Blues ski shop. It’s $60 and I think you can demo three different pairs and you can apply the $60 towards the purchase price. Demo days are always free. -

Nope I never do and I believe today’s demo day was invite only. I don’t have the patience for demoing. -
Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower at at 8:25am and it was in the mid teens under sunny sky’s. First civilian six pack with the old man me and BenM rode up with Thursday. First run on Challenge, it was truly a magic carpet ride. Very nice quiet packed powder. Razors next and not quite as soft. I then did three more laps on challenge until the cord was gone. There was a big demo day going on with about a dozen tents. Crowds were moderate, a lot of non season passholders. Sidewinder was spectacular and I skied that twice. I did paradise once after the early morning boomers were done warming up on it was nice, a little slow with some wind. Switchback wasn’t as good as the others a little scrapped off. I went up the Main Street chair once to get Widowmaker from the top. Still wall to wall fresh cord at 1015am, midway was ok but some mini ice chunks. At like 1020am was like a half full corral but nobody in the VIP line on the lower park side..I skeet skirted right to the front and finished on sidewinder. I managed 10 runs in an hour and a half and when I left the lot was almost full and the temperature was up to about 22 but it felt warmer. Another grate day in the season that keeps giving. Maybe a little fresh Perder tomorrow AM. JADIP

Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 710am extra early as I anticipated a snowy drive. It was in the upper 20s and the snow began falling around the opening bell. Challenge was an absolute carpet...so nice. I skied challenge again and then hit up Switchback three tones in a row. The first hour was less crowded today than yesterday and then the crowds arrived and the line for the six pack was about 10 minutes. I went over to the Main Street list for one run via midway to little gap to Burma. Not much of a line for main steeet chair. I got a run on x-into and it was sweet. Back to the six pack the line was was out of the corral. I ended with nightmare to Dream Weaver for something different and my first time on it since it became a park. That run is totally ruined and the booters are giant. I hungout in the lot while the snow came down maybe 2” total looks like maybe a little more in the Lehigh valley. Also in the house was everybody except Kyle, Shadows, zonked, Root, angryhugo, ridge, Atomic Jeff and MBike. JADIP

Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mOuntain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at like 7:15am and it was in the low 20s with the sun rising. In the house were Toast, JFDan, BenM, Mute, Ryan, Boo Bear, justo, Rose, Indiggio, Slim, Enjorales cousin, Faldo, Eddie, Charles, Rodney , Gahskier George, MBike mike, Antman, Nastar Glenn and many others. First civilian six pack and challenge was super good soft packed perder..if some dust blowing up..liftlines were a few minutes from the start..I skied challenge again then Main Street which was super good..Paradise was nice and a lot of people were enjoying coming soon which has some amazing natural snow cover. Switchback was also very nice not quite as good as Main Street. Tuts lane to connector to lower widowmaker to midway to little gap to lower Burma to shuttle to lower park also good. That’s essentially the Haute root. Parking lot was fun with some beers and snacks..I hit up White Castle on the way home....sickbird. Ski everybody tomorrow could be some fresh Perder for opening. JADIP The ski conditions had me pitching a tent as were some in the lot.

That’s good news right?? Also realize that winter storm warning criteria is higher for the poconos than areas like southeast PA and central NJ -

Toast your reaction is essentially the same as most peoples reactions to the second dose...Pretty soon we can have sneezing contests again. -

Pizzeria uno is freaking good. I’ve never spent any time in actually Denver..just Denver airport area(aurora) and I’ve been to Boulder a few times. Boulder is just like Burlington Vermont. Their Pearl street marketplace was designed by the same guy who designed church street marketplace. Plus it’s referenced in a chain smokers song. Word Lyfe -
@saltyant this is from the closing ceremonies of the 1980 Olympic Games that were held at Lake Placid. My two ski trips to Whiteface the Olympic mountain were in 1994 and 1997 and my high school ski club stayed at the comfort inn in Plattsburgh both times. It was pretty nice..there was a pool with a water slide and they had a jacuzzi and racquetball courts as well..had to stay four to a room which is the suck...you can definitely hammer out a lot of vert there I had 35-40k vert a day there and that’s before the had the gondola and it was like be back on the bus at like 4 or 430 skied a full 7+ hour day..I ate at the mid mountain lodge..since we took a bus booting up was indoors. I also remember wearing my ski clothes the entire drive back..that’s not recommended. Nice to change into street clothes before a 6 hour drive as opposed to wearing ski pants long johns and back then I wore some thick ass socks....

The last night of a ski trip always calls for dessert. Maybe order a little cognac or port wine as well.
