I saw video on YouTube from the cowboy bar in Jackson hole and people were partying like it’s 2019. Every saddle at the bar was full and dozens of maskless people walking around with a band playing...Teton county has a population of only 23,000 people and 500+ new Covid cases in the last two weeks.

Patroller said stop stop stop...I never listened to my parents as a kid I’m not about to start listening to random folks in red jackets.

Aren’t you supposed to receive heavy snow later today when this storm really gets wound up.

My run on coming soon..the second run for Toast and Atomic Jeff and Johnny law there was a patroller at the top yelling at us to stop and one at the bottom. I was shocked when I was told later in the lot it opening to the public. It’s a really wide run..wide enough for four people to ski side by side and you really go into paradise with a lot of speed. Also Main Street chair did open close to on time and there was a pilgrimage of people hiking up lower park to shuttle to get there..I wanted untracked on Razors and it was my best Razors run ever..typically the top headwall is windblow but the snow just lay there virgin and unmolested about 8” perfect medium density....all float... We lined up at he quad around 835 and the employees were funny saying things like,”we aren’t open yet” no shit..fuck at Jackson hole people get in line for the tram at 645am on pow days and cook breakfast for extra gnar points. These are the best of times..also Nastar Glenn was the first PASR to arrive at Blue today and I’m sure they could hear his high pitched squeals all the way on Burma. Boom boom boom pow pow pow ring a ding ding!!!!

Catching up on weather forums and you are correct. Insane.

I can’t top Toasts report but I’ll add some notes later. Took me 55 minutes both ways not terrible. Saving grace was not many people on the roads. I skied four runs today..Razors, Challenge, Sidewinder and Coming soon right to my car. Anybody who skied today is dedicated and for the peeps coming later it’s still gonna be boner city!!! JADIP

Somebody on the weather forum I’m browsing lives at blue knob and said 8” already.

Well a lot of skiers and snowboarders aren’t lifelong participants. It’s sad but not everybody is as passionate about the sport as us.

I cleared off my car again. About 4-5” now. Drifts up to a foot deep. Wind and snowfall intensity increasing. Temperature around 20

4-5% powder..the 20:1 liquid to snow ratios are why many areas will see 20+ inches of snow and even some lollipops of 30”+

A lot of ski resorts out west charge for parking. At copper mountain I pay $20 for parking to be right at the base and avoid a couple minute shuttle bus. At Jackson hole last year me and Atomic Jeff dropped $30 the last day to park right in the village lot. Also amusement parks and sporting events charge for parking. If a family is gonna drop $500 for a day of skiing, what’s another $10-$30. They made it to wallyworld they’re gonna pay it.

I just cleared my car off and there’s maybe 3”. Snow is coming down at about 1/2” an hour max at this rate there should be about 8” for opening. Perfect.

Challenge was good first thing and the snow was from the snowmaking cannons. Upper challenge also had it.

The radar is really backfilling. Wooo.

Hopefully you’ll need your fat powder skis.
