It’s like anything they always need to recruit new members every year like police, fire, teachers…my uncle was on ski patrol at Jack Frost and enjoyed it..I believe for the commaraderie. At Blue most patrollers are volunteer a few are professionals. At major resorts it’s a full time seasonal job, there are even ski patroller unions. I spent dozens of lift rides with concussion Ted from when he went from a civilian to a ski patroller and pros and cons are. Pros to being on ski patrol: Cut the liftlines, first tracks…free skiing and for family it’s either free or almost free. Pro discounts on gear, camaraderie, thursday night parties..Jimmy told me ski patrol at Blue used to have end of season keggers next to lazy mile. Women like men in uniform. Cons: all the classes, training, drills, testing…long shifts in all weather, dealing with the public…

Blue used to give a free Stowe card which was their 50% off weekday 24% off frequent skier card to season passholders..also a free subscription to one of the ski rags. I still have never been to a season pass holder party…

Without ski patrol we’d just have to help out…I’d put up the slow signs and will whistle at people I’m not doing medical stuff..that will be up to Toast and Matt edge. Salty you’ll be in charge of the hot chocolate

What about the hike to blue trail I believe long shot it’s skiers far far right and ends at the lower village. I did that when I visited and wow that’s a great long long run and says 1/4 of the way and 1/2 of the way and 3/4 of the way…I wanna get back there might even stay down valley where it’s a little lower and cheaper accommodations. The campground area is rad..that’s like a mini Hobacks.

Hotdog Hans is alright but I think he’s in jail right now in Aspen after some lewd conduct after an X-Games after party. Id prefer Hansi Hinterseer… DiMe he might make you wanna switch over to the dark side and become a skier.

Looks like some snow squall activity at Blue mountain. Anybody get a snow squall warning..I thought I turned those alerts off the last time I was awoken cause some baby daddy abducted a kid in reading and I was supposed to be on the lookout for a LatinX male driving a gray Nissan Altima with tinted windows..sheesh that’s half of Allentown.

I bet there were some spectacular tomahawks on the steeps..and glad to see Bc is making Johnny cash…

At like 745am, a ski patroller going up for another dawn patroller run asked if anybody wanted to be a ski patroller and it was an echo of No’s so I made sure I said Hell No extra extra loud lol and Dick Nosely was laughing..not as hard as Enjorales was laughing later on in the lot. The ski school “tram” golf cart shuttle thing loved going down our row..so many happy noobs getting to see the gritty underbelly of a major PA ski area.. Also tomorrow there’s gonna be a special guest at Blue according to Tactical Tim…he wouldn’t tell me, I’m guessing it’s not Saltys sister 😞 JADIP

That’s like the start of the hood…15th street. I sometimes play the game down there called spot the white person..it’s not easy.

Well and not counting lift riding times..I only prob ski about ten minutes total per hour at the very max.

Have you done the surface lift at the top of Snowmass? When I was there I did Gawdys a few times. Might be above your ability level but that’s a fun run.
