Sticky manmade snow is also when the temperatures are just below freezing..when it’s 15 degrees out you get that manmade pixie dust which is much drier and chalkier. Nice to finally see a BC report..looks like they’re doing well.

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 759am and in the house were Root, JFDan, Atomic Jeff, Bethlehem Ford Guy and ZZSlope. The temperature was around 30 degrees under partly sunny sky’s. Snow guns were blasting Inn sidewinder and a few other spots. First run on Main Street was variable with some wet fresh snowmaking snow, Razors was better with firm but not chattery cord. Challenge was similar and decent. Paradise and Lazy mike were forgiving with SP3000 on paradise one run. Switchback was cookies Crowds were super light likely because of yesterday’s rain and warmth..sure they lost some base as there were a few crevasses opening up on lower sidewinder. All in all I skied Challenge four times, Razors twice, Paradise twice, Main Street once, switchback once and lazy twice..from 830-1015..then had a quick beer in the parking lot and at Sheetz now eating surprisingly good tacos. Hey All, Its almost another weekend, is anybody going to be skiing at Blue mountain the true mountain? I plan on Friday Saturday and Sunday mornings. The weather looks really nice for some sausage.

Maybe a foot of base between the rain and warmth..it’s cool they have plenty the only thing I could see getting thin is lower sidewinder skiercross. Looks like really good snowmaking temperatures Friday night. Dress warm if you’re out Saturday AM

After today’s rain and melt the snowmaking ponds will definitely be full.

The worst is the store in the O’Hare airport called Nuts on Clark..that sounds like a really bad porno movie. Always reminds me of Clark w Griswald because he’s from Chicago and his wife Ellen is a hottie.

So what if you become jaded and people don’t seem to remember that there can be some serious dog shit conditions in the Rockies although not as common as here. If it’s snowy and cold and then gets warm and then cold again anything off piste is rowdy..you also have to sometimes deal with flat light and vertigo. Thankfully wherever I’ve visited out west and even in Europe I come across folks from Jersey. Remember Jersey isn’t just a state but a state of mind.
