I skied Northstar at Tahoe 12 years ago at Xmas and was a similar dry start to the season with about two dozen runs open but like ten lifts so was a junkshow. Was the first time I ever paid over $100 for a lift ticket, that was the window price and I’d ski 830-noon and then when debooting would sell my ticket to someone in the lot for $20-30. So for shits and giggled I looked up to see what a ticket at Northstar at Tahoe would cost for tomorrow. They have 26 runs open and ten lifts but some of the runs are terrain parks, connectors and like village run baloney so prob 5-6 herb routes..blue is a bargain in comparison.

Tomorrow is opening day #5 and hopefully the last opening day of the season at Blue mountain the true mountain…I’m looking forward to it because it’s gonna be spring conditions and I haven’t skied lazy mile yet and still haven’t skied the full paradise so gonna be a lot of variety. Is anybody gonna be in the house tomorrow or do people have to work? Ski some of you at opening bell!!!!

Gotta give Bear creek props for getting open..even Jackson hole only has like 53 runs open.

Will be interesting to see how much snow melts the next few days…mild overnight temperatures and some more rain isn’t good but I think they’ll survive…

I don’t get hyped up with forecasts beyond 5 days but I do like seeing favorable trends. I want it to be a little colder so TP4 isn’t so warm in his new jacket and pants and I’ve been sweaty as well…and haven’t even needed my hat much in the lot. Save that for the spring.

The old raceway t bar at Blue was a trip without a suitcase..pretty steep..at rocking horse ranch they had a rope tow that was just a rope..exact opposite of the comfort we experience on the super summit safari six pack..

Blue never used to be that busy until December 26th…I think bear creek not being open and not much better skiing up north right now is making them extra busy plus so many season passholders. I’m still wondering how many Ikoners are at Blue and would be interesting to know how much Blue gets from each visit. Prob like $35 or something, can’t be much. I’m sick of the slow sign lower Main Street to shuttle shit..but better than not skiing. Some forecasters are hinting at a pattern change after one more shitty weather week. Thanks for all the reports, today was the first day I missed this season and won’t be around this weekend as I’m playing Santa Claus for young and old relatives.
