In my opinion it’s about keeping existing terrain open…2-3” of rain coming later this weekend and a couple days of warmth so when it gets cold again they’ll have to resurface.

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 825am and it was 33 degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Mute, PARidge, C1, Dirtwolf, Toast, Bethlehem ford crew, Rodney’s crew and Airhead. Leisurely start and maybe the 6th civilian super summit safari six pack. Easy out and vista had pleasant almost packed powder conditions, the beginning of midway wasnt bad, firm but some grip and lower down was uneven and slick, kind of rolly Polly on lower main. Leading into Barbs way was also pretty slick and the move was doing a Tokyo drift. Almost every run skied the same route and it got progressively busier…coverage was fine, I skied burma once and was decent and a little slick in the corners..just so many people on it. Lots of beginners, boomers and snowboarders out today. It felt downright warm and the temperature rose to the 40s real fast. After skiing had a beer in the lot with Mute and back at work now…best thing is my office manager sold a $5800 tombstone while I was skiing…that’s always the best. Ski some of you tomorrow JADIP

Midway is good when there’s no people on it.

Well as far as I know..the guns are off..I doubt the east side is ready yet. If they were in fact blowing on lazy and blow more on lazy overnight maybe that opens but gotta think with the forecast don’t wanna spread themselves thin…webcams look great.

I’ve been shaking hands with a lot of people everyday..I counter act with those fruit cocktail cups I like the one that has a couple cherries. Apple and cranberry juice is good also..

Easy out, vista, midway, lower Main Street, the shuttle, tuts lane, barbs way, valley school, burma road and maybe a few others. Plus tubing opens tomorrow..

Yeah I even asked office manager about it. I was at my printer earlier and two people in there were wearing masks…and anecdotally from what I’m seeing on FB a lot of people are sick.

If you wanna sneak in some pre work runs it’s easier to ski an hour and sneak into work at 930-10 then at 1030-11ish..I work at 6-730am some days before skiing.. Also an 8am opening way way less traffic then a 9am opening during the week A lot of years by ski season we are slowing down and not the case this season. The last four days have been ass at work. Good business and only had a few people yell at me.

Remember 9am opening tomorrow.

Grate for the snowmaking

Hey All, It’s almost another weekend, is anybody planning on skiing Blue mountain the true mountain this weekend. I’ll be there tomorrow morning and Saturday morning. Saturday night I have an Xmas party and if it’s raining Sunday morning or my head is foggy I’m sleeping in. Looks like a snowmaking miracle could make for decent skiing this weekend!!!

The optimistic answer is this…and gosh it’s getting late better check the blue webcam one more time. Something about seeing those snowmaking cannons blasting puts me at ease..salty tell your hot sister tubing opens on Friday.

@saltyant this is getting good. I may have to start another roll call thread soon for stoke…looks like Friday and Saturday we’ll have skiing at Blue.
