Hey All, It's almost the weekend...who's gonna be at Blue mountain the true mountain this weekend? I plan on being there both mornings as long as we don't get a monsoon. For now it looks like rain should hold off until late morning on Saturday and 70% chance of rain on Sunday.

By the way the tags on this thread are great. Salty once you clean the interior of my car with a toothbrush while wearing a French maid outfit you'll no longer be a freshman anymore.

Do you happen to know how stiff your ski boots are?? Do you always buckle your boots back up after you take them off??

Nope that doesn't work it's a totally different skill set and unfortunately you only will get a few times a year to practice in it unless you're like me who's had 7 perder days in the last three weeks.

Dont be dissapointed just savor the day and enjoy exploring new terrain. Maybe head back to the forerunner quad and try the glades next to nosedive. I always complain how how fast jackson hole gets tracked out(maybe an hour and a half) but stowe gets tracked out in like 15 minutes. The people there are hungry for pow pow. It's like hungry hungry hippos. Also try whirlaway at spruce that could still have some freshies. Chin clip could be very good today as well.

As ski boots get more packed out you have to tighten the buckles more and in choppy snow they usually need to be tighter than in groomed snow..if the perder is deep straight run until you have the desired speed then just shift your weight from left to right and make real light turns..don't even think about using your edges.

GrilledSteezeSandwich replied to guitar73's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
Changed over at Belleayre at 230 according to Root. Still should be good at Jack Frost you'll have some 3D snow and moguls and the woods are skiable. -
The Catskills used to be the place to vacation for New Yorkers back in the 50s and 60s. Think Dirty Dancing..

I don't think it will be icy death..there was a lot more snow than frozen snot at Blue today..everything should groom out nicely. -
Go to the Stowe bagel at 630am...if money is a problem I can call ahead and put it on my credit card..it's the least I can do for the entertainment you provide.

I honestly think 95% of people who were asked that question would have a deer in the headlights look. I only know 3 degree bevel from Atomic Jeff tuning my skis. Before that I had no clue and I skied for 15 years before AJeff was my tune guy.

I waited for Atomic Jeff and Indiggio two seperate times. According to Matt Edge nightmare-dreamweaver opened in the afternoon. -
The ben and jerrys tour is cool...Ben and Jerry actually took an ice cream making class at the Penn State university creamory. If you stop in there get some Cherry Garcia(my favorite flavor).

You could always drive up the night before and stay at the Delaware court motel. Some nice restaurants in Phoenicia. There's a lot of poverty in the Catskills http://www.delawaremotelcatskills.com/ or stay at one of the chain hotels along the interstate in Kingston if retro isn't your thing.

Blue is one of the few ski areas I know of where it's common to bring skis in the lodge both upper and lower lodges. A lot of ski resorts have signs on the doors that say no skis in the lodge.

Moe Ghoul how has Smuggs been?
GrilledSteezeSandwich replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Other Mountains
There was a parade of PASRs going back and forth to Bin 22 last week..not for the restaurant but for beer and spirits. Smaller restaurants are the bet IMO. Less overhead...a local Italian restaurant has about 10 tables and the dining room is not much bigger than my hotel room and those 10 tables are always filled from 5-9pm -
Why is breakfast served earlier tomorrow? Does is have to do with the Eagles parade? Do you drive to Killington tomorrow after skiing or Friday morning?

Moe I was actually gonna ask you about the possible restaurant plan. I guess you miss the days when you owned bars and restaurants. -
Maybe centerline. I was wondering because Hayride is where the college racers race and it's damn steep.
