  1. Yea, we should have a mini edit of that soon. I think wednesday we're going back to film w/ some nice panasonics and whatnot. The guys from Mattress in a Box are gonna be filming.
  2. My little brother rides on either fujatives or dogan's both tele. I'm usually around teleing on Public's or Scratch's and my dad who's on the patrol is usually on my piste pipes or some cruiser tele ski. Ben Brockwell is the patroller you're talking about, I dont know what he's riding this year. He got real smooth w/ his switch tele turns last year...I'm hoping to get him to start jumping and hitting some rails w/ me this season. Yea, Kevin Breen is the snowboarder in orange pants. I sessioned the big stairset at Bear Creek w/ him and skier Jesse Hagedorn yesterday. We were all gapping to the second rail in the middle, and Breen was going rail to rail across the whole thing. Good footage...
  3. That's my little brother in the pipe Tele. Mark Croasdale, he's 14.
  4. Hey, I just wanted to compliment Bear on building what's probably the coolest feature in PA. This thing is awesome...when you can get a chance to hit it. I'm not sure how or if this could be improved, but sooooooooooooo many people are just riding over the inner lips and then shuffling down the stairs. Not only is it a bad idea, it destroys the in runs and hits on a feature that you dont have that much room for error on. It's amazing the progression i watched today. In the morning most people were hitting the box portion and barely anybody was hitting the rails. A few people realized that they could ride down the steps and all of a sudden there's a solid stream of beginners riding right over the lips onto the flat top and bouncing down the stairs into the landing. Twice I came over the gap to the middle rail and saw some little kid that skidded out into the landing. I'm not sure what could be done to turn this into a more exclusive feature?
  5. Yea, a lot of the rangers arent that great of skiers. They just feel badass when they put that yellow jacket on. I got yelled at for skiing fakie down cleo...
  6. Do you work at Camelback? Who are you?
  7. Camelback just has bad decision makers in charge of the terrain parks
  8. I am very familiar with the 300,000 skiers and riders that come for the variety of terrain. Unfortunately there isnt very much VARIETY in the park. I also realize that Camelback will never become just a park mountain, and i'm glad for that. I appreciate Camelback for the trail riding and think it has some of the best conditions in our area. I just happen to spend the majority of my lower east coast riding in terrain parks. It takes a very small amount of snow to actually set up a simple rail. I am more than aware of the poor snowmaking conditions. I have been making snow for the past few days and have 3 rails set up in my yard right now. Camelback has more than enough snow and probably enough room to put at least 3 or 4 more rails in Laurel. And have you ever seen how crowded the terrain parks get? Appearantly the "majority of the population that comes to CB" just cant resist the progression of skiing and snowboarding.
  9. I have been skiing at Camelback since i was 3. My dad is on the ski patrol there and i raced there for about 6 years. I now ride mostly tele and freestyle and think that Camelback has a lot of potential that is not being tapped at all. Every resort that i have been to has made an attempt to set up an "early season" style park. I rode at Blue twice during Christmas break, they had a decent battleship box, awesome butter box, an attempt at a jump and a few flat boxes. Opening day at Boulder was also set up very well, and now Boulder's park is one of the most amazing things i've seen in our area ever despite the poor weather. Camelback on the other hand has decided to set up only features that they have designated for their "progression park" or whatever it is they want to call the miniscule pieces of metal and fiberglass that they have sitting 3 inches off of the ground in Laurel Glade. I understand and appreciate the need for smaller features that will help beginners progress quickly and safely in a separate environment from the larger features. I dont understand why it's Friday, January 19 and Camelback has not set up a single worthwhile terrain feature. Appearantly they now posess rails and boxes worthy of sitting through a 15 minute video before you're allowed to hit them, so why dont they set even just one up? I know this is not the fault of Camelback's park crew and I am not trying to tear apart the mountain that I have ridden at for 16 years, but i'm tired of coming back from school for the weekend and seeing that not one feature in the entire park has been moved, changed or added. I have not even heard anything about trying to open this newly designed Rhodo terrain park or set up any new rails or boxes. This disappoints me because Bear Creek managed to set up 16 rails and boxes (more than Camelback even owns I think) the first day that they were open. I hope that Camelback gets a clue sometime soon that winter sports are branching off in new directions and they are quickly being left behind, much to the disappointment of myself and I'm sure others. (I'll be at Bear Creek this afternoon hitting huge, well setup, progressive features. I'll also be at Camelback Saturday hopefully hitting something other than a slide box the length of my ski)
  10. haha nice call on the tindy, check them out at www.transworldsnowboarding.com under how to!!!!!! MIAB
  11. Hell yea, I'll be there on Monday but i was wondering if anybody has a list of stuff that's set up? Since it's Bear i'm sure they'll have a sick park...
  12. I think that a park specific resort would do very well, especially if they have good features. I've been riding at Bear Creek for a while and the majority of the terrain there is covered with crazy rails, boxes, jumps....therefore the majority of the people riding there are hitting stuff. I know that if Boulder turned their entire mountain into a park I would buy a pass there and I'm sure that there are a lot of others that would too.
  13. I'll be there sometime this afternoon. Does anybody know what they have so far as a park and rails or whatnot?? I was at Boulder yesterday and it was sick. HUGE HUGE jumps and nice features.
  14. I'll be there around 12 after my last final! Teleing whatever rails they have up
  15. Dude, I have a park at my house. I'm always looking for new rails. I'm in the Stroudsburg area and already have a dragontail, 15 ft flat rail, teeter totter, flat down, a-frame box, double barrel flat rail, and a couple other things. If you build something i can definitely add it to our collection.
  16. Last year (I think it was at Park City) I hit a quarterpipe that had a big wooden beam suspended a few feet above the lip. It was fun as hell to stall on.
  17. yea, rainbow to kicker......i'd prefer a nice flat bar to that any day. That rainbow box looks really small for what it is. If it was more like Bear Creeks rainbow box that would be cool. The pic on their site labeled "flat down rail" worries me. It looks pretty small...i could be wrong, but i hope it's at least moderately long. I also dont understand why camelback insists on building all their boxes so insanely wide. Overall i'm not very impressed with these improvements, especially compared to the amount of work that all of the other local mountains are putting into their parks.
  18. Just wanted to let anybody that goes to Kutztown know that the ski club is back up and running. Currently we have discount rates for season passes at bear creek, and are working on many different things for the upcoming season. A lot of the info we have is going to be posted on our facebook group (KU Ski/Snowboard Club), so if you're interested in some good deals and/or need somebody to ride with you should join the group and check what we post.
  19. There is a really nice down flat down that's on the outskirts of the fountains. It even has a long flat area at the top that could be used to get a bit of speed. There are also a few short rails near the rec center that i've been looking at. The one rail that amazes me is the one next to the bus stop in between golden bear and UP. It's soooooooooo long and windy, but there's no gaps in the metal or blockers anywhere.
  20. Camelback's website says that: "Camelback plans to add a new satellite sound system for both the new pipe and the Rhodo park." I hope that they play good music this year, cause last year's playlists were unbearable.
  21. yea, the rails here look sick. It's too bad most of them have gaps in the metal halfway down...
  22. Sunday would be best, but i'll be there either way
  23. Yeah, Terrence and I ride/film alot together. My goal is to hopefully have at least one rail set up for thanksgiving vacation. I'm also looking for somebody artistic to make up some sort of cool logo or something. The name that we're playing around with right now is the Croasdale Jib Zone... It's still flexible if anybody has any suggestions.
  24. I'm a freshmen at Kutztown and want to ride Bear a bunch this season. I freestyle telemark and have a park at my house. I was also hoping there would be a few kids at KU that want to film some.
  25. My list of rails to build before the end of fall is: -wide flat bar -mellow a-frame -long flat-down box
