    new videos

Follow Me Around by Mack Dawg Productions was very good. More by Absithe Films was really really really bad. Probably the worst new movie I've seen in 5 years. I was very disappointed. Haven't seen anything else yet.
  2. Yea I thought so, and it took almost all season to open Independence although that was probably the nicest trail setup I've ever seen with the double line, perfect jibs, nice setup and everything stayed groomed all day because of the park pass and that scared away most of the kids.
  3. NEW YORK (AP) -- Canadian resort operator Intrawest Corp. said Friday it has agreed to be acquired by private equity firm Fortress Investment Group LLC for a total of $2.8 billion, including an unspecified amount of debt. The $35-per-share cash offer represents a 32 percent premium over Intrawest's Thursday closing price of $26.51 on the New York Stock Exchange. Its shares rose $7.49, or 28.3 percent, to $34 in premarket activity. Intrawest, whose properties include luxury safari operator Abercrombie & Kent and the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort in British Columbia, said Fortress offered the best option for shareholders. The company hired investment bank Goldman Sachs to review its strategic options in February. The acquisition requires the approval of regulators and two-thirds of votes cast by Intrawest shareholders. The deal has the backing of Intrawest's board of directors and is expected to close in October, pending receipt of shareholder and court approval. Fortress was founded in 1998 and manages about $23 billion in capital. That was about 2 months ago. From tremblant-insider.com. Intrawest got sold but so did all the mountains. Doesn't look like Fortress is changing anything (personell, budget etc) operationally this year. Although in the future possibly, but I doubt they will change Mountain Creek.
  4. as long as they're not light gray, i hate that. the really dark colors and the bright colors work best at night for contrast. the like light gray color didn't show up on film well either.
  5. It's bullshit, Jiblab certainly says otherwise. Someone pranked you.
  6. yea seriously think of how much it costs to go to COC. Divide that up by how much most 16 year olds get paid per hour, and then put that amount of time into studying. Anyone in the world can get straight A's in high school it is just a matter of how hard you work. You may think you can't, but if you put enough time in you definitely can and thats fucking worth it, those camps are mad expensive.
  7. Feels a lot like a dominant but faster by a lot because the Dominant has the slowest base ever. Jib board like the Kink/Dom/Artifact. I personally don't like it much because of edge chatter at high speed but for park its really good.
  8. Just checked a few weather forecasts for Blue, BC, MC, Hunter. Doesn't look like there will be any snowmaking temperatures in the next 2 weeks, maybe not even until the very last day or two of Nov. Not good, but luckily they don't know a fucking thing about the weather so they could be wrong. Hunter may be able to find some temperatures to make snow, but I can't see a solid day of snowmaking anywhere south of that.
  9. Not to put words in your mouth but was the seemingly shitty snowmaking at Mountain Creek a factor for you leaving? Because last year for a while they built up snow for a step down on great northern where there is always a stepdown, but after the warm spell they pushed it out for coverage instead and put 2 rails. And the jump on kyhber was like half made but never materialized either, and then flying fox basically never even opened.
  10. nothing curved yet. I bet we'll see a c box and/or c-rail, a wallride, a flat rail or two more, and a down flat down rail or box. I'm not sure what else but I kind of want a rainbow rail although I don't think these guys like rainbow rails much because there weren't any at mountain creek in the last few years. I'm just stoked the upslope box and the 40 foot down rail are there, those were the smoothest jibs at MC and I knew that BB would get them too. And don't worry, these guys can make some nice ass jumps. I'm pissed I didn't save my pictures from independance pass last year, but the 2 hip/jump on the right side flowing into the big hip on the left side was so smooth.
  11. A bunch of my friends at PSU main campus said you drink cans at your parties and there are no kegs? Whats up with that?
  12. Yea thats how I feel about Alta. Bastards.
  13. Best line in that article: "Freeskiers with enough talent and experience can perform 180-degree turns while in motion and ski backward down a slope. The rounded tips on both ends of the skis also give freeskiers the peace of mind to turn 360 degrees in midair without fear of embedding a tip when they land." Because you really need that back tip when you land a 360, and of course you can't ski backwards on regular skis. Nice.
  14. the Tour De Creek winner last year I believe was from really far away. So it is true there are shops from all over that come for it.
  15. Follow me around had great video but bad music. The riding was better than anything I've seen this year. I was glad Jussi made a return he is my favorite rider of all time.
  16. Not true, the radius of the pipe is smaller than the height of the pipe. If the circle ended at the top you wouldn't have any vert at all and it wouldn't work out. The transition ends at least a foot or two below the top edge, so you can have a 10 foot radius transition on a 12 or a 14 foot pipe, but they ride differently because there is a different vert. 17. smooth as hell
  18. that Iskibc guy is rediculous
  19. I am always amazed at how much colder it is when you have clear skies then when there are clouds, that is a factor a lot of people forget about. The heat escapes so much faster that the low temperature comes much earlier on a clear night than a cloudy one.
  20. TGR is the best forum to read, I wouldn't want to write on it but they have so many good trip reports that get you stoked. Give me two years and I'll be posting my own up. I might post a few on PASR this year but I'm not exactly climbing a 14k peak and skiing down it just yet.
  21. I agree with forum on the no ride on rails in the main park. Streetstyle or gap setups scare off most of the kids who don't belong. Not sure I agree with the only step downs, I see the point but tables are too much fun to leave out of that park.
  22. my bad i got confused
  23. I usually look for when the highs are low 30s to expect some snowmaking, the low could mean 3 hours with snowmaking temperature when its as high as 28. If the low were 20 you could expect a decent 8 hours of snowmaking temperatures.
  24. I meant from today to the last time i had sex versus today to the last time i was on snow.
  25. now back on topic. who will blow first in the poconos? I think it might be JFBB because they spent so much money on the snow making equipment they might want to show it off.
