Yea in this case its hard becuase a fucked up screw is there fault in that they should maintain their shit, thats not a patch of ice. BUT you also agreed to their terms by purchasing the ticket, and by going into the park passed another sign that said ski and your own risk. Did you check the features before you hit them? Catching a screw can lead to exactly the same thing as catching your edge on a down-flat-down box, or even just a burr on the metal or the plastic. It happens to everyone at some point if your hitting rails. I'd personally be against sueing becuase you ride the park at your own risk that shit happens. Did you see anyone land the rail? Becuase I'll never hit anything until I go over it with a real good look or watch someone else hit it.

K2 boots are great I love my T1's. People consistantly pick the K2 Raider Boa/Tracker Boa/T1 over any other boot you put against it at my shop. The only exception would be 32, we have them this year and they've been going really fast.
-
I find them small on my feet which i have one thats about an average width and one is a litter wider than average but it could just be the curveof toebox becuase a toe I broke wakeboarding and it is a little pronated out. Either way, the Technicas are wider and the Technica HVL are huge.

Ha yea I poached a trail at Mountain Creek maybe an hour after they stopped the guns (so it had a bit of time to dry) and it was really fun. I also once followed a groomer at night (I was riding close to closing, not sure how it happened to be out on an open trail during lift hours) maybe 40 feet behind it, that was probably the best snow condition you can have other than fresh real powder. As for the fan guns, they still use air but it is usually doesn't come from the central lines, if you watch the BB video there are a bunch of compressors in there. The tower also allows it to spend more time falling, so more time freezing, so it can be made at warmer temperatures. I believe there is also a point where they can run fan/water only when its cold enough, or fan/water/air when its warmer. http://www.snowmakers.cz/Home%20EN/EN%20Fans.HTM

Why would you they sell you nordicas if you have wide feet? In general Technica have a higher volume all around, Rossi a tighter heel cup than the Technica but pretty big up front. Check both of those out. The Vento 6 from Technica isn't too too expensive and fit my foot which is pretty wide up front comfortably. Agreed best option is to go to a good shop and have them give you a good boot fit.

I love my Boa's. I have a K2 T1. Very stiff boot, have probably 15 days on them so far, I expect 35 days or more this year on them. On my boot the Boa is on the inner lace, you can get it plenty tight, even too tight. Don't know how it is on the outside (T1s have laces on the outside). No problems fraying, but they are on the inside. They don't won't break becuase of tension the wire is really strong, the main issue is fraying and then breaking, which might happen on the outside. Overall I wouldn't avoid them, worse comes to worse they have a lifetime warranty (at least on K2 boots). As for speed of lacing them, I work at a shop and I can put a Boa boot on faster than laces, just don't try to turn it round and round all day with two fingers, just slap it around and it will spin faster than you can tie laces by far.

yea avalanche science is so interesting i wnat to move out west eventually and i'm going to take some backcountry courses, but I would definately be one of the guys hiking early season snow, not one of the snow snobs who only come out for perfection conditions. Once an east coast guy, always an east coast guy. I'll take any snow I can get.
-
doubt you'll see an S rail, they don't like circus rails. I'm looking for a down-flat-down double barrell and a sick upslope box.
-
I think its interesting that if you read on TGR all the summit county guys want the snow to melt soon because they don't want a weak layer as the base of hte snowpack (becuase the ground isn't frozen yet). Here I don't think any of us would ever wish snow away, although I get their point.

I really hated the computerized bullshit in the begining, but the kids riding is really good. Who is he?
-
yea i'm getting the snowboard itch now that my summer stuff is wrapping up.

looks a little narrow, realize the snow has to be pretty thick so the zaugg doesn't eat up dirt so cut out quite a bit of that and it might look narrow from the 4th picture. all this means nothing though, pipes are made or broken by their grooming not their specs. A well groomed 11 foot pipe is more fun than a shitty superpipe, so it will all come down to snowmaking and grooming. I hope they don't rush to get it open 'first' rather than do it right.

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1237947573 a kid I know on snowboard.com found them. Maybe not the best setup ever but still a lot of kids at MC who can ride

Only 2 of the guys, there are still a handfull left at MC.

Video posted somewhere else (not made by me) And the crew's post on Snowboard.com: Thanks to everyone for coming to shred our box today! We apologize for over-crowding, but in all honesty it was the best we could do with the time constraints... We figured maximized duration of riding on one feature would work out better than maybe 2 or 3 features with snow that would only last less than an hour... You guys rock though... No riots, no fights, not defacing of the box... I know it was tough dealing with line cutters and the mud, but still we appreciate you all coming out and we hope you had fun! Stay tuned, this event was such a success that we hope to have at least one more pre-season jam! -The JibLab Crew

actually gaper comes from people with a gap between the top of their goggles and the bottom of their hat, as in no style. It's moved onto mean everyone, but originally it was actually people in the park doing things without style. http://www.gaperhunter.com/index.php

if you're a gaper, you never knew what the word gaper meant

Yea sarcasm doesn't translate well on internet boards, oh well

I don't want to get into park passes on this thread. Thats been done over so much. I personally think anyone who wants to get a lesson in park passes should go to mountain creek, go to the park without a park pass, then buy a $5 park pass and go to the park with park passes. See how much safer, less crowded it is, how easy it was to do, and how much better groomed everything stays. Then come back after experiancing that and tell me how park passes suck. If you could do that and say that the park passes didn't make the park safer (which keeps insurance from getting even worse, keeping all our lift tickets down), then I'd be interested to hear what you have to say. Every local at Creek fought against them before we had them but after Stratton did, and now we love them. Rangers are a big part of the issue too, probably one of the most important. They need a good education on it, and need to have one checking in there a lot.

I still say a fence with small opening (as in like 30 inchs) with a sign directly in front, so that you have to go AROUND the sign, would be a pretty good deterent. This goes along with my theory that it NOT be smart style sign becuase smart style is completely rediculous. It doesn't actually make any sense if you didn't already know park ettiquette nor address the issues of safety in the park that are most paramount.

well as long as you don't do this: "The approach mounds can also function as nice little jumps" your fine. i don't care about people (who can ski under control) skiing through a park, watching, spotting, just riding. but when people start endangering the people using the park, I have a problem. And using the ramp for a rail is one of the things that endagers riders becuase it puts ruts in it that are perpendicular to the way we are using them, and it wears them down. So we have to jump higher, and have more things to catch and edge on/get thrown off balance from. And considering its as we're about to launch off onto a 20 or 30 something foor long piece of metal a few feet off the ground, anything that makes the approach less smooth is to be avoided.
-
your cool, i won't respond to that here but do it in a park and you'll get a differant reaction
-
Not only is park popular, you are more likely to get more repeats out of it. Park rats don't get bored just becuase its 1,000 ft vert, or the snow is melting, or its a crappy winter. As people into free riding get older, they are more likely to spend there money to go north to hunter, or vermont, or west for more challenges. Thats probably why the park scene is getting more and more attention around here.

brtndom whered you go to school?

I'm stoked I won't have to drive the extra hour to Mountain Creek anymore. The biggest hole at Mountain Creek was always the snowmaking too, 150 guns might help a bit.
