  1. well i'm like 75% sure i'm switching my pass from mountain creek to blue mountain next year based on everything i've heard but i have to have a day to check it out. I'm moving south and Blue and Bear Creek will be about the same length but I need my free rididing too so I think Blue it is. Its just so damn expensive, I'm used to my $100 unlimited MC season pass, and its like $300 AHHHH
  2. the thing about that jump thats so great is its like 25-30 foot to the knuckle but the landing went on forever. literally a like 150 vertical foot landing so you could take it out to 50 feet and still have a landing there, and be dropping forever. the other day i went up with slush wax but they had built up the kicker more cuz everyone was going slower, and i cleared the knuckle by a good 20 feet and i was just dropping forever down it was a sick rush
  3. i'll be there 3/19 for sure, pink bandanna on my face, checkerboard goggles, black helmet with anon stickers black/silver striped Ride Kink, khaki pants and i don't know what jacket with. Probably with a girl on a dark blue Rome Vinyl in khaki pants and who knows what jacket. the names kevin i'll be all over the mountain in the morning and then park after i hit all the trails
  4. I decided shawnee 3/20 and blue 3/25, i've been planning to go to both for a long time, but since i'm bringing a few peolpe with me i should reward them for staying open later than mountain creek, every little bit helps
  5. I've had a theory that Mountain Creek should build a 2nd half pipe indoors since they have a zaugg anyway, but its fairly obvious Intrawest doesnt' give 1 shit about the mountain, while places like Blue/Shawnee/Bear Creek do. The only thing saving MC from absoluete shit-dom is the park crew. Anyway, Blue seems to be spending money. How bout they put in a quad instead of a 6 pack. Then take the money they saved and build an aircraft hanger type building somewhere and put in an indoor super pipe. You can keep an ice rink cold and its just as big as a half pipe. You'd have to make the snow in the winter, but after that just cut it once in a while. In the winter push the snow around and remake it for the spring. You could charge hourly or just $30 something a day, and people will come for it. Don't even provide a lift, all they would have to pay for was air conditioning the thing which if its super insulated couldn't be a huge expense in comparison to the amount of people that would come. A couple weeks rent it out to camps and stuff, people drop $1800 to go to windells, why not $700 to spend a week at Blue with a coach?
  6. Hey guys I'm a Mountain Creek local/season pass holder but they're done for the year, so this weekend I'm either heading out to Shawnee or Blue mountain. I'm leaning towards Blue becuase I'm going south next year to University of Delaware and it will probably be my mountain of choice, so I want to check it out this year. BUT - Shawnee is where i learned to ski and snowboard and theres a nostaliga attached with going back for the first time in like 5 years to end off my high school snowboarding where it started years ago. Anyway, i'm thinking shawnee sunday and either cutting school tuesday and going to blue, or making it up next weekend. What are blues hours next week and what are the chacnes they'll be open next weekend? Or should i just screw it and go to blue this weekend becuase i've never been there before?
  7. sick, just sick. too bad we didn't get a lot of time with independance i'd love to see what you where doing with the upslope box and the hip to hip combo
  8. I think bear creek should go the way of Bear mountain CA and just make it 100% park, or nearly so. Mountain Creek should do the same. Leave other mountains for freeriding, just suck all the park rats into those 2 and have some sick ass parks.
  9. yea they're not enclosed and that would be scary as hell, the side walls are like waist high
  10. yea dude you single handedly turned that park into one of the better ones around
  11. I'm always for more snowmaking over lift capacity. The question is how much more expensive is a high speed 6 pack over a high speed quad? The differance probably isn't that much. \
  12. I'm probably going to end up at UDel although they haven't sent me the letter just yet. What is the mountain that people usually go up to from UDel?
  13. i'm going up tonight, vernon main park. silver and black striped board, khaki pants, black jacket, black helmet, pink bandanna, checkerboard goggles. i got no one to ride with tonight so if anyone is up there, hte name is kevin.
  14. don't forget weather, mountain creek gets screwed a lot more often tha nthe poconos
  15. are you from UDel?
  16. i was so mad I couldn't go, I had an oppurtunity to be on Fox News cable station today and it was one of those things you can't pass up, but it killed my day for 10 minutes on TV. I'll still be coming to hit up that park though for sure
  17. "When I was at Jackson Hole, I heard techno music coming from the halfpipe...I skied right through the middle of the pipe. The walls at Jackson were also 18 feet and that's so big, even bigger than the pipe at Camelback." Lost all respect for you right there, going down the stairs at Blue was lame but probaby funny. But thats straight up lame. If I get my pass clipped for going through the middle of a race course then you should get yours taken for doing that. And before you swear to god that you didn't get in anyone's way, I'd say that doesn't matter one bit. Apparently you've never dropped into a super pipe with the intention of getting some air, but let me tell you, your moving about as fast as you can move on a snowboard (or skis) and all you look at is the next wall to setup. If you even have time to think about the flatbottom while your going through, your going too slow or not really in control. I know when I ride I land on one wall and pick the spot I'm going off on the next wall without ever looking at the flat bottom. Probably five or 6 times this year I've gotten laid out at high speeds becuase there is a random rut going down the middle of the pipe from a skier or boarder going top to bottom. People get hurt by shit like that, and you should know better than to do it. If your going to admire it at least look over the edge and ski on top of the wall, instead of right through the thing. Oh yea and the walls at camelback are like 8 feet, that pipe in no way can be compared to a superpipe.
  18. that trail on the left has nice jumps and it had 3 rails at one point in the year but they took them out and never replaced them after the thaw, I think they will come back though, they're supposed to put up the s rail, the battleship box, the up-flat rail, and probably 2 or 3 more on that trail on the left I'm not sure why its so empty, and the trail on the right is missing the usual jump and a rail, it sucks cuz they could defiantely have another 8-10 features in there, its just a lack of snow the thing i love about mount snow is the super booters at the bottom of the park that everyone can see, those things are straight up huge. that and their pipe is always good, they rebuilt it a few weeks ago too instead of just cutting it over and over and it getting wider and wider
  19. hey, i might be coming up but 2 questions: how much of the park will be open aside from the comp? becuase I plan to enter the comp and I can probably handle myself through some of it but it will be my first comp and since I won't have your features dialed I know I can't put a run together to make it past the first round, so I want to ride after that. Is the whole thing gonna be closed or just part of it?
  20. did you see the main park? I agree with you the snowmaking system isn't quite up to par with the rest of the area although realize they have more slightly more acreage than the other areas, but its spread out over a huge ridge. South is really far away from vernon, so the snowmaking is super decentralized. You can't have the same people working the trails you need at least twice as many, which is costly, but more important you have to pressurize way more pipe. The trail that connects granite to south takes a huge amount of snow on a long run and costs so much just to do that. Not saying I think its a good thing, i hate how shitting the snow is. But thats just the facts, they don't attract many more people than the other mountains but it costs a lot more to make snow, and with the marginal temperatures this year a huge amount of snow was diverted to the Grand Prix, enough to cover those bare trails and more than enoughto cover the bare spots. If it weren't for the Grand Prix there probably wouldn't be a half pipe and there would be better snow everywhere else.
  21. yea the park is looking really good right now, definately 2nd best in the area to mountain creek no matter what the bear creek and blue mountain guys say. camelback is so far out of the park loop its a great joke. i'm glad we're having 4 good mountains within a few hours of each other. Mountain Creek is still far ahead but less than they used to be, a lot of people who don't have the skills for streetstyle setups and 40 foot jumps are left wanting at mountain creek cuz its either super small or super hard. You have a much more even progression at shawnee, ride on boxes and stuff, but also harder rails and jumps which is what i like about it.
  22. wow that thing has the narrowest ramp ever. i could see how it would be a problem for skiers. high potentional for getting nutted if you right over but no room to go sideways with a ramp that small. When mountain creek used to have their 65' double barrel rollercoaster rail up that had the 2 rainbows and 2 inverted rainbows, the only way to get from one end to the other was pumping your knees over it, trying to ride through that much change is hard
  23. yea man thats whats so damn good about Mountain Creek, everything is street style. I thought u meant you didn't like the lines or features. The fact that everythings not ride on is a good thing becuase if you learn to ride on you learn bad habits. I can't even do half my jibs on high ramps now becuase i'm so used to a hard ollie into it. Besides its the main park, during a comp, what do you expect. The rest of the mountain is ride on, like sugar jib, exhibition, and the mini park. Its just the main park thats street style or gaps. Realize every mountain creek comp is swamped with people so if its easy setups, everyone will enter. Its just another way to seperate the men from the boys. and i don't buy that not built for skier crap. almost the whole park crew are skiers, watch their videos. None of the guys building rails and setting them up are riding snowboarders, all of this year and last year's videos they ski. The only streetstyle rails are down rails except one short flat and one long flat. If you can't get onto a streetstyle down rail on skis, you need to go faster.
  24. before/after the grand prix there were a lot of pro's riding mountain creek's park doing the craziest things like 540 bonks and rodeo flipping our spine, it was sweet
  25. yesterday was a comp at creek and it was super icy how would you judge it by that?
