Black bear looks like it's got some decent coverage on it. Obviously it's hard to tell from the webcam. Hoping for a late week opening. Like Thursday.

Temps didnt cooperate last night. It was hovering around 34 degrees at midnight in kutztown. I'd rather see them push for a 26/27th opening rather than Christmas. It would probably work out in their favor as ticket sales would be almost non existent.

No, but it's extra firepower in marginal temps when guns are basically at half production. Basically it's a 100g gamble. But hey it's ear creeks money not mine so if they want to go out and drop thousands of dollars on stuff so be it.

My buddy works there and from what he told me it was just typical opening day conditions. Soft snow, not alot of coverage.

doug, did you even bother reading any of his post? Also, as shadows stated, homeless people are easy arrests for cops. what person living on the street in freezing, wet temperatures is going to fight a small drug charge when they're going to get 3 hots and a cot? that is why re incarceration occurs so much. Criminal loses everything when he goes to jail, he gets released, can't get back on his feet and decides to rob the mini mart downtown in hopes that A.) he'll get some money out of it or B.) he'll go back to jail where he has a bed to sleep on, gets dental and healthcare for FREE, and gets three meals a day. As a criminal justice major i have confidence in saying that the criminal justice system is completely flawed. Does it work for some people? Yes is does but for a majority of people it does not. The statistic of repeat offenders committing crimes within 3 months of release is through the fucking roof. to most people going in and out of jail is a way of life. Shit, most people get released and commit another crime just to have a reason to stay.

I drive a 2.0. Love the car to death. It gets me from a to b and that's what matters. I am in no way hating on bear creek it's just frustrating to see your home mountain behind the game. But hey that's life. They open when they open.

I don't think Tom is up marks ass at all. I'm not here to fight but everything Tom has said, whether its in this thread or another thread, has been dead accurate to a t. So good luck trying to downplay someone who is a big part of bear creek. Yes we know bear creek sucks and has made bad business decisions but its the dedication and loyalty of its riders that bring us back every year. Do I agree with all of bears business decisions or what they do? No way. But I go back every year and buy a pass because that is my 2nd home. I have never skied at another place that I enjoy as much as bear on a daily basis. Isn't that what it's all about? Having fun and getting away from the real world? If it isn't then I don't want to snowboard anymore.
