Unless it gets cold enough for them to lay some serious snow down they're not making it to the 17th, tonight was real fun though. It was heavy hardpack slush but perfect snow to try new stuff on in the park. Hopefully we keep the slopestyle setup in black bear because that's a really good rail line.

Honestly don't think we'll make it past the first or second weekend in march, its been way too warm and we don't have alot of snow. Unless the temps take a drastic turn its not looking promising. We really got screwed by mother nature this year. I'd like bear to be open as long as possible but realistically its not looking good at all.

Cascade is nuts right now, definitely a good setup.

i ride bear 4-6 times a week and have had maybe 3 days this year where something other than a flat box has been rutted out. If youre complaining about stuff being rutted then you must be hitting all of the flat features as those are usually the ones that get rutted easiest.

half of this post contradicts the other half. you complain that the park isn't good, they didnt build cascade, whatever else then at the end you bitch that they're building cascade and not worried about saving snow? i'll agree that the jumps are never the same. When you can manage a park and keep every single jump the exact same every day then im sure everyone here would love to go there. as for park crew, dont bash them, there has not been a single day this year where they havent been out raking things and doing the best they can to keep everything perfect. if the snow is granulated then yeah they are gonna be out raking lips because its not going to pack down its just going to get shot off right away. park crew has been on point with everything this year and i dont think theyre getting the credit they deserve.

saw that this morning, hopefully we can get a good rail line or two going in there. black bear was real fun last night, the bottom rail line was prime even though everything was super low. bear has been blasting the shit out of the mountain with snow and its finally looking like it should, well sort of.

black bear has a new set-up. same three jumps in a line. up box, mailbox, up circle rail, flat box, flat wood jib, flat square rail. small down flat bar, down candy cane, down circle rail.

that jump is not poppy at all either, he must have hit that thing at full speed and off balance to do the damage he did. i wouldnt be surprised to hear that he broke his tailbone.

best example of gapers at bear was last night, kid straight aired to his back on the last jump in black bear (maybe 10-15 feet) he carried it about 30, me and 3 other kids, including a park crew member were standing on the jump and the knuckle waving kids toward the skiiers right and kids were still weaving through us and rolling the knuckle where he was laying hurt. it blows my mind how people can be so oblivious while in the park. when you have 5 people standing in front of a jump with their boards/skis off waving you away from the jump why would you continue to hit it? this isnt even an issue of gaping its a huge safety issue at that point when a kid is laying hurt in the landing and people are trying to keep him from getting hit again. was that you that was blocking the jump with me when that kid got hurt?

Tonight was kinda icy hardpack. Didn't stick around too long as I was feeling sick but it was fun regardless. The up circle rail is sooo much fun. It would be cool to see the flat down circle rail set up somewhere in cascade as either an a frame or flat with a double lip.

Wouldn't mind that. The first jump in cascade hasn't beet too populated this year anyway. If the second jump in blackbear was pushed out/made bigger I think it would work. I think it would be cool to put the red white and black bonk at the end of the long up rail. Not sure how everyone else feels about this?

Suprisingly well considering the shitty weather we've had. Don't know how it is today though.
